Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture!

TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Right, will do. Yup I'm a wildlife scientist - handy for when there are factual errors in tunes advertising juice drinks ;)

honeysucklejasmine · 02/10/2014 12:22

Wow! I think we honestly have a really interesting range of jobs! Wildlife scientist with a famous cat no less! How cool!

lildottie · 02/10/2014 12:33

so many bloody science geeks in here! lol

I'll stick to maths thanks! (accountant)

OP posts:
jellypi3 · 02/10/2014 12:45

insurance here, can't get more boring that that!

Leela5 · 02/10/2014 13:35

Back from holland and barret with a ridiculously large list if recommendations for ttc:

Vit e (in pregnacare already)
Epo
B complex (12 and 6 particularly)
Yarrow tea (wtf?)
Camomile tea
Agnus castus
Folic acid

She said agnus castus is magic stuff but hard to come by

jellypi3 · 02/10/2014 13:51

Agnus Castus isn't that hard to come by, you can get it easily from boots.

I was taking it because someone recommended it as a kick start for my AF, but when i mentioned this to the doctor he told me to stop the AC, and just use folic acid and vitamin D. I also take EPO for pants snot (just started this month).

Leela5 · 02/10/2014 14:02

I take preconception vits, epo, b-6 but going to switch to b complex instead of 6.

I don't think I'm going to add to my load, it's enough Smile

jellypi3 · 02/10/2014 14:28

I should probably add B6 to my list! I have a pill box I take so many lol!

Leela5 · 02/10/2014 14:30

It's in pre conception vits. I take extra coz of luteal phase defect x

lildottie · 02/10/2014 14:30

never understood what ac is supposed to do. although jelly maybe you could try soya isoflavones. its supposed to help balance hormones and you can buy it cheap in tesco
all caught up on 3 episodes of extra slice! should probably start the studying now?!

callipygian00 · 02/10/2014 14:30

Jelli it's still early! Very much not out!

Wildlife scientist sounds cool. As a bookseller I'm obviously a geek, but was always crap at Science and Maths. Good at English and Music though, so I can enjoy a book and have a riot on stage I can almost feel my Dad's eyes rolling Grin

I just walked all the way to the library with a stupidly heavy bag ready to do some full-on studying. It's closed, as it is every Thursday afternoon, duh. I even walked past it's big closed gates to the corner shop and bought a big bottle of water and a huge pack of biscuits to keep me refreshed whilst studying, which made my bag even heavier for the walk of shame back. I wish Mr T were here to call me a fool.

BothersomeB · 02/10/2014 14:41

Cal - your wish...

Leela5 · 02/10/2014 14:56

I pity da fool!

Calli I'd love to own a book shop!!!!! I love love love reading, I've been a book worm since I was tiny. I have a book club my friend and I started in our town. Love it. What type of books do you sell?

jelly don't knock it, we all need insurance! I have about 20 different types of insurance; pet (separate horse and cat accounts), building and contents for both my owned properties, plus contents for rented, mortgage life x 2, car, travel.

I wish I was an accountant sometimes, I'd earn more money (wildlife not lucrative!) and be able to do my tax returns efficiently.

lil also don't understand ac and so refuse to buy it Grin

BothersomeB · 02/10/2014 15:03

oo - books - need recommendations - running out of kindle fodder and that makes me nervous... La and Cal- what's good?
x

jellypi3 · 02/10/2014 15:11

I'm such a book bug. I've just finished a series of books that were 14 books long but were amazing! I'm re reading game of thrones now Grin

I know insurance is important it's just so dull, or at least the stuff I do is!! I would love wildlife though Smile

Urgh why am I feeling so sick today? Everything I eat or smell is making me feel ill!!

BothersomeB · 02/10/2014 15:22

Jellypi - when you going to POAMFS? Think might have a Jelly Baby on the go there!

lildottie · 02/10/2014 15:28

I too love reading but don't do anywhere near as much as I'd like. love Lesley Pearce and Erica James and Ian McEwan. I have a varied taste! looking forward to my hold in October to get the kindle out oh how I miss the days of real books!

la the problem with being an accountant, and therefore being able to do your own taxes, is that everyone you know wants you to help them with theirs! lucky for me I don't mind showing off my knowledge Grin currently studying to be a chartered tx advisor. got hired just being a chartered accountant. I wasn't going to do it because of ttc. so glad I did now! although if I don't do some studying I'll never pass this exam!

jelly would love you to discover s jelly baby in there. poamffrer!!

ChatEnOeuf · 02/10/2014 15:31

I love wildlife and books too. DH is an accountant and I think would much rather be a wildlife scientist/photographer.

I've got a historical work on Bess of Hardwick on the go at the moment, as well as The Fault in our Stars which was recommended by a friend. Jealous of any library that allows biscuits though Cally - that would have made for much more pleasant afternoons researching :)

Noniks3 · 02/10/2014 15:37

as a fellow book geek here are some recents I can recommend;

And The Mountains Echoed
Khaled Hosseini (just started this but good so far)

The Rosie Project
Graeme Simison

Language of Flowers
Vanessa Diffenbaugh

jelly do as bother demands!!

Who else is imminent to test?

jellypi3 · 02/10/2014 15:37

My DP was going to study to be a chartered accountant but decided to be an actuary instead!

And I really don't think I'm upduffed. I'll POAS (IC) to satisfy you lot though lol.

I love photography. Wish I had more time (and money) to do it

Noniks3 · 02/10/2014 15:39

that sounded like I am imminent to test...I am not. Only a measly 6 dpo...urgh

callipygian00 · 02/10/2014 15:52

bother you just made my day! What books have you enjoyed recently? Unfortunately I don't own my own bookshop, maybe one day! I work in a pretty big range bookshop so sell all sorts but I'm in charge of the home section (cookery, self-help, parenting etc). My favourite section is kids though, kids books rock. I loved Fault in Our Stars, I was wailing at the end. noniks there's a sequel to the Rosie project - the Rosie effect, it was just published last month.
jelli have you poas'd yet?

BothersomeB · 02/10/2014 15:55

Nonika- thanks for the recommendations...I've read The Rosie Project and as it happens was just in the process of downloading the follow up - The Rosie Effect - have you read it?

I shall be buying your other recommendations immediately!

In return, may I offer up:
The Never List (Koethi Zan)
Before We Met (Lucy Whitehouse)
The House of Silk (new Sherlock Holmes by Anthony Horowitz)
Anything by Jo Nesbo

Noniks3 · 02/10/2014 16:00

not read the second one yet, am being a bit of a loser & building up the anticipation!! Also one more book from my last splurge before I will allow myself further purchases.

oooh, read a Jo Nesbo recently - The Snowman. Liked it a lot...although the man without nipples was a touch odd...

I am adding yours to my Amazon basket ready to go Grin

Noniks3 · 02/10/2014 16:02

also I love Robert Harris
