Over here all breastfeeding TTCers! Welcome to our thread - a place for us to come for support, information and to talk about the extra challenges of TTC while still breastfeeding.

Seeing as I filled up the old thread I thought I should start the new one!

For anyone who is new to the thread or needs a reminder, here are a few links to some useful websites (thanks Waiting for putting these together). I hope I've worked the links properly.

mrsD I'm so so sorry to hear that, really hope EPU have seen you quickly, scanned and helped you find out what's what. Sending huge hugs lovely lady. It's so unfair. Have you & DH got good support in RL? I'm here anytime you want to vent. X

mrsdiddlydoo · 05/11/2014 13:22

You guys are so nice. After 5 hours of heavy bleeding let dh take me to hospital on Monday night. Scary 24 hours but I have been fixed and finally home after surgery and blood transfusion. Not sure Ds is meant to have siblings! Consultant said we could start TTC straight away. This we will take a break till after Xmas. X x

mrsdiddlydoo · 05/11/2014 13:24

Think not this. Bloody autocorrect

Gunpowder · 05/11/2014 14:12

Mrsd I'm so sorry things have been so shit for you. It all sounds quite scary and like you are being very brave. Look after yourself over Christmas. Big hugs here to you too. Thanks

TheEagle · 05/11/2014 16:43

So sorry mrsd, that sounds like an awful and frightening experience.

I hope you're feeling a bit better now. Be kind to yourself and hope lots of people in RL are taking good care of you. Sending unmumsnetty hugs your way x

Tiptoeshoes · 05/11/2014 20:03

I haven't read the thread and don't mean to crash the party but...

Just wanted to say I'm bf my 2 year old 3-4 times in 24 hours. And I just got a bfp Grin. Been trying for six months and loads of people saying I needed to give up bf if I wanted to get pregnant.

3 positive tests and 3 days running feeling faint with morning sickness say otherwise.

Bit worried about my milk dropping with pregnancy hormones and how dd will react. She loves her milk..

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 06/11/2014 21:08

I was just popping in to lurk see how you're all doing as I lost you for a while (was on the last thread) and saw your sad news mrsd, I am so sorry Sad Sounds like you've had a terrible time of it and you seem so lovely, it all seems so unfair Flowers I hope you have plenty of rl support and can take it gently over the next few months, and I wish you a strong and sticky BFP as soon as you feel ready for it.

I (finally) got a BFP last week and am trying to be cautiously optimistic without getting carried away, early days. Sadly didn't manage to do it while still BF but hopefully a new BF journey to look forward to now Smile Good luck to everyone ttc!

mrsdiddlydoo · 06/11/2014 22:50

mister that is super news! Often wonder how you are. I have everything crossed for you. Grin

Need to stop thinking about babies but it's so difficult. Feeling OK. Although really scary this time, knowing its sorted is helping me somehow. Got a busy weekend ahead and making lots of plans to keep me going.

junebaby2011 · 07/11/2014 07:38

I'm so sorry mrsd-2 in a row is just devastating. I'm here if you ever want to talk. Thinking of you.

Yzma · 07/11/2014 20:16

Mrsd hope you're feeling ok. I hope you've got lots of support around you.
Mister that's lovely news, congratulations. I hope everything goes well for you.
Tiptoe that's also great news, I've heard that lots of people manage to tandem feed, it's something that I'm going to read up on when I get my bfp.
Well I managed to convince myself at 4am on Wednesday that I was pregnant (heavy and slightly crampy feeling) but bfn yesterday.

AF was due today assuming I'm back on my 28 day regular cycle but nothing at all other than still feeling crampy every now and then, which I was getting in the summer before I got my period last month. I expect that it's just going to take a while to get back to my regular cycle as dd is still feeding so much, 3-4 times in the day and loads in the night too. Must try not to get too impatient, though I may wait until after xmas now.

Yzma · 07/11/2014 20:18

Oh and sorry Eagle I meant to say congrats on your twins! Grin

junebaby2011 · 08/11/2014 09:57

Should have said congrats mister!Smile

Gunpowder · 08/11/2014 10:37

Congratulations Tiptoe and Mister.

Thinking of you Mrsd, I know it's not the done thing, but xxx

ToesAndFingers · 11/11/2014 17:15

I'm sorry MrsD for your loss Flowers Take care of yourself, and take your time. Would they investigate the reasons as you had 2 in a row?

Congrats Mister, I was wondering how you were! Do did your periods get back to normal before you got your BFP?

I'm still here, 2ww now but I'm doing 5:2 diet at the moment, so it's keeping me distracted.

Part of me thinks I should get my BFP this month as AF is due when my mum comes over, which is very inconvenient as I wouldn't want to tell anyone straightaway. Oh and DS is going to be 1 so some drinking planned too. Let's hope Sod's law works here Grin

NewToAllThis11 · 18/11/2014 17:06

Hi all, can I join in please? Will go back and read rest of the thread, but I have an 19 month DS who's still feeding once or twice in the day and sometimes (most of the time) a little bit at night.
Just starting ttc at the moment, but AF has been all over the place. Nothing for 16 months, then two extremely heavy periods and nothing again for 6 weeks. Really annoying as don't know whether I'm ovulating or not, or when to see gp about it, if at all.

mrsdiddlydoo · 19/11/2014 16:38

Hi newtoallthis It can take a few cycles for AF to settle down when it returns. Were they heavy before DS? The links in the opening post are really helpful and worth a read. I'm sure you'll find things settle over the next couple of months.

NewToAllThis11 · 21/11/2014 14:40

Hi mrsd. I've had a chance to read the thread now, and I'm very sorry for your loss. Flowers

I had a Mirena IUD for about 3 years before I started ttc and I had no AF for that whole time. Then I conceived DS before I had AF, so I almost can't remember what they were like! Not especially heavy or light though. Have bought the Toni Wechsler book, so going to read that and see whether I can work out what's going on. Also trying to only feed DS once every 24 hours, to see whether that helps, but he's not too keen at the moment. Read those links too - thanks.

mrsdiddlydoo · 21/11/2014 19:26

Wow newtoalldish! That's a long time with no AF! That book is suppose to be good but I'm afraid I've not read it. You shouldn't need to drop feeds to get that bfp. Plenty of ladies have managed it on this thread even with multiple night feeds!

Quiet on here lately. Hope that means you're all busy Wink

MrsConfusion · 21/11/2014 21:06

new I've had two BFPs while BF DD - she's two now and still likes her bedtime milk - so it can happen!

Sorry I've been away from thread a while, after this summer's loss at 12 weeks I got BFP at end of Oct, but then had a mc at 7 weeks. Feeling really exhausted and wrung out so will have a ttc break til after Christmas I think.
Thinking of you ladies lots and hoping the graduates from this thread are doing well, and that we get some BFPs soon!

NewToAllThis11 · 22/11/2014 12:58

I know, mrsd! It was great at the time when ttc was the last thing on my mind, but the first AF after about 4 years was a shock.

Very sorry for your losses mrsc. Having said I was trying to cut down DS's feeds, he's got a cold at the moment so has been feeding more and more!
