Over here all breastfeeding TTCers! Welcome to our thread - a place for us to come for support, information and to talk about the extra challenges of TTC while still breastfeeding.

Seeing as I filled up the old thread I thought I should start the new one!

For anyone who is new to the thread or needs a reminder, here are a few links to some useful websites (thanks Waiting for putting these together). I hope I've worked the links properly.

Welcome New! Hopefully AF settles down for you soon.

I'm still here, AF came and gone, ov is due around Friday I think. However I've decided to relax the TTC a bit. Work situation isn't greatest ATM and I simply don't want to stress about it every month.

Not sure how many of us are left waiting for BFP?

GuessHowMuch · 24/11/2014 21:35

Hi everyone! Please can I join your lovely thread? I'm feeding my 8mo but really want to get moving on number two! I've cut down feeds over the last few weeks as he was feeding so much he just wasn't interested in solids (hating weaning so far). Can I pick you brains on the Clearblue Fertility Monitor - the instructions say to wait until you've had some normal cycles before using. Does anyone here use it while bfing? Does it seem accurate? I'm currently on CD23 but have just got EWCM so a bit confused. Wondering if there is any point in buying sticks for the monitor....

mrsdiddlydoo · 25/11/2014 07:58

mrsC my heart goes out to you. Gutted. and cross at how shitty this ttc business is proving to be. Hope you are bearing up OK and have some RL support. Flowers un mn hugs xx
We're on a break until after Xmas but can't stop symptom spotting if I've possibly ov'ed. Definitely going a bit insane.

mrsdiddlydoo · 25/11/2014 08:01

Haven't used the cb fertility monitor guess so unable to help. Did use the cb ov sticks. They were fine whilst bf. Cm can be a bit diff whilst bf. Did the monitor show you ovulated or have you not started using it yet?

GuessHowMuch · 25/11/2014 11:29

I haven't started using it yet. Will give it a go next cycle I think. How old is your Ds diddly ? Hope you are keeping busy to keep the TTC crazy at bay (failed at this myself Hmm).

MrsConfusion · 25/11/2014 12:10

Thanks mrsD, it's tough. Think this second one is just starting to hit me now. We're having a break until after Xmas too, waiting for first AF then back to it. Hoping this means some cheese and wine over Xmas. Just absolutely wiped out at the moment.

Guess welcome to the group, these ladies are lovely and such sources of knowledge. I've not used CB or opks I'm afraid

mrsdiddlydoo · 25/11/2014 14:02

guess he's almost 21 months. Not sure where time had gone. I'm a fraud on here because we stopped bf in September because of bfp stress. Can't help but drop by to check everyone is OK.

mrsdiddlydoo · 25/11/2014 14:07

mrsC the second has hit me harder than before. Think we put all our energy into keeping busy after first and presuming it was just our turn to be unlucky. Now I'm turning into a crazy ttc obsessed lady! Never my intention. Feel blessed to have managed 2 bfp this year but scared about what happens next. Definitely lots of wine and stinky cheese over Xmas. Take lots of care of yourself.

Yzma · 25/11/2014 16:27

MrsC sorry to hear your sad news Flowers Hope you're being well looked after.

I'm still here, on the 2ww again. AF was one day late last time, I used to be able to set my watch by it, so disappointing!

Still not sure if I'm ovulating - before dd I had very definite ov pains, could feel the exact moment etc. Now it's a general cramping all across my tummy. So not holding out much hope for a bfp this time!

Dd still feeding loads, how to cut down? She's very slow to take to solids which can't be helping.

MrsConfusion · 25/11/2014 23:33

Tonight I'm finally feeling physically well enough to embark on cheese and wine overindulgence - will regret tomorrow but tonight it helps. Another thread just posted stats saying 4% chance of two mc in a row. Somehow it just hurt more.

yzma I've never been able to spot ovulation, had started trying temping and cm charting in month before last BFP so will try to get back to that once I've had AF. Gah really hoped I was done with ttc madness!

ToesAndFingers · 04/12/2014 22:24

How is everyone doing? Very quiet on here lately...

2ww for me at the moment. I think I had early ovulation this month. Feeling irrationally emotional so AF is on her way.

I don't want to be pg this month. I'm quitting my job, and also I have a Christmas do and leaving do in next couple of weeks and would really like to go, especially as I can count on my fingers how many times I've been out since I had DS!

TarkaTheOtter · 05/12/2014 10:33

Him can I join please?

I am TTC dc3. Dc2 (ds) is 11months and I have just dropped down to two feeds in 24hrs. I conceived him when dc1 (dd) was 13 months. That time I got my cycles back at 10m and got a bfp a month after I stopped bf. No AF yet this time though. Keep feel like it's gearing up to start then nothing. Had some evaps on (out of date by 6m) internet cheapies but was kidding myself really because we dtd so little these days that the dates didn't make any sense anyway.

TarkaTheOtter · 05/12/2014 10:33

Hi not "him" obviously!

Yzma · 05/12/2014 12:55

Hi Tarka I had that gearing up feeling for a couple of months before I got af back. I'm going to start temping and using ov sticks if I don't get my old ov signs back later this month! I've been trying hard not to manically symptom spot but it's harder than I thought.

Pretty sure I'm about to get af - have got that horrible heavy feeling and mild pains on and off Sad. Ah well I suppose I'll be able to have some drinks this Christmas... Good luck to those on 2ww.

FoodPorn · 07/12/2014 20:02

Hi ladies!

Can I join you? I have stalked here for some time but was not TTC until now.

I am TTC #2 while breastfeeding DC1 who is 1 year old. AF returned at 7 months. Cycle 1 starts this month. DS feeds 4/5 times a day and once at night... I can admit that here right? I'm amongst friends!!

I have not had a drink in 22 months Xmas Shock and am going to be engineering some in over Christmas if it kills me. Xmas Grin

Here's to some festive BFPs for all those TTC!

hideandsqueak · 08/12/2014 19:14

Hi Foodporn I am also TTC #2 and DS1 is 1 year old and feeds 4 times a day and anywhere between 0 and 10 feeds a night Shock

On third cycle since AF returned and still not sure if I am ovulating or not!

Yzma · 08/12/2014 21:12

Well no Christmas drinks for me, I got a BFP Xmas Grin
Can't quite believe it as feeding 3-5 times per day and same at night.
FX for everyone else Xmas Smile

hideandsqueak · 09/12/2014 10:26

Congratulations! When is your due date?

FoodPorn · 09/12/2014 18:19

Congratulations Yzma! Wine Wine Wine or perhaps Cake is more appropriate. Xmas Grin

Good to hear that a BFP is possible with so many feeds. I have hope! How long have you been trying for and how old is your DC?

Yzma · 09/12/2014 20:39

Thanks Xmas Smile I'm due 14th August, another summer baby.

Foodporn I've been very lucky as af came back in October. Dd is 17 months and very attached (we co-sleep and feed on demand; she's also been very slow to take to solid food) so I wasn't expecting a bfp so soon.

ToesAndFingers · 10/12/2014 19:46

Congrats Yzma! Flowers

peardrop2 · 10/12/2014 21:50

Sorry to hear your news Mrs C Hmm A January BFP will be a cosy October baby fx Smile

Yzm - congratulations! An early Christmas present Wink

I am using the cbfm and should ovulate tomorrow. We've Dtd EOD in the last 4 days so fx we get lucky. I'm hoping we manage to dtd once more before its all over but boy is it hard work to find the time and energy with a toddler!! If I get a BFP I should find out at Christmas. So I'll either be celebrating or eating ALOT of Stilton!!

Hello to all the newbies who have recently joined Grin

NewToAllThis11 · 12/12/2014 14:34

Congrats Yzma!
Well, I ve just had AF - my third since DS was born 19mo the ago. Am trying too do the fertility awareness method from the Wechsler book, although I can't seem to remember to take my temperature before I get out of bed in he morning! It's an interesting read though.

I'm guessing my cycles are still going to be all over the place, so just going to watch like a hawk for any signs of ovulation.

Am finding it's really starting to hurt to bf DS at the moment. I usually only feed him once or twice a day, but it feels like his suck has suddenly got stronger and it's really pulling at my nipples. Anyone else had this as their dc got bigger?

peardrop2 · 13/12/2014 15:33

NewToAllThis ~ mainly just hurts if my son is teething.

ToesAndFingers · 13/12/2014 20:35

Agree with Peardrop - I've noticed it's more painful when DS is teething too.

Just looked at my post on 4th of Dec - I thought AF was imminent but no sign yet Hmm

Not considering myself late yet, today is CD27, and my longest cycle so far has been 29 days. Usually it's 26 days though, and I thought I've ovulated quite early too...

I don't feel AF is imminent. But then I don't feel pg either, although earlier in the week I thought I could be, but can't remember why Grin I'm actually full of horrendous cold, and so is DS so everyone miserable in Toe house at the moment.

On the bright side, I'm 2 lbs away from my pre-preg weight - yay!

Not holding my breath, but every day without AF makes my hopes go up and up... Although as I said this month is very far from ideal to get a bfp for me...
