Here, we go, nice new thread.
Might be helpful to have some stats so we know where we all are?

I will start, farfallarocks - TTC#2, cycle 11. 1st brooking baby DD, 21 months. Investigations reveal high FSH and potentially starting IVF.

Hi far, no news here, just stuck waiting until the scan on Wednesday, but am convinced that there will be nothing left for them to see :(

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 20/01/2015 11:24

So I was unpacking one of our house moving boxes today and found a clear blue digital test. Decided to POAS rather than wait until the scan tomorrow. Now staring at the words Not Pregnant. So I definitely lost it last week, and there is no hope for the scan tomorrow, other than getting it logged on the system so that they will hopefully run some tests to see why it's happened and making sure that it looks like a complete miscarriage. :(

emma85x · 20/01/2015 11:53

Oh loopy I am so sorry. How heartbreaking for you... Flowers Thinking of you lots xxxx

emma85x · 20/01/2015 11:53

Let us know how it goes tomorrow - How long have you been TTC? xxx

Pastamancer · 20/01/2015 12:11

:(

Imps9 · 20/01/2015 19:36

Ohhhhhh Loopy-lou I am sorry. What sad news. You can certainly ask them to investigate and meanwhile crack on and try again. You WILL get your sticky BFP soon and I am BROOKING NO ARGUMENT.

farfallarocks · 21/01/2015 11:05

loopy I am very sorry to hear that :(

Scan showed what I expected and a blood test confirmed for their records a miscarriage. They are going to run some blood tests via my GP and referring us to a consultant, to see if it's bad luck or something else causing the mc's. She said the 2 cs and 1 ERPC may be the cause, said the consultant will probably want to use a camera to have a look, can't remember the name she gave for this, ended with oscopy?

emma85x · 21/01/2015 16:55

Oh loopy I am so sorry to hear that. I hope they schedule you an appointment soon. This whole TTC business is so stressful isn't it. I've come home early as I've come out in hives. Thinking of you. I'm considering a break from mumsnet as lovely as it is to see so many BFPs it's also very hard. Thinking of you Flowers

farfallarocks · 21/01/2015 18:28

Loopy so sorry :( it will be a hysteroscopy I imagine I had one pre ivf and it was painless.
It might also be worth having your immunes checked although this is not offered on the nhs in general. It is a frequent cause of mc and can be treated with steroids and blood thinners. Huge hugs to you.

Emma don't lose heart I know it seems like everyone else gets pregnant easily but as you can see from this group that is not the case! You will get there eventually!!

As for me, I am hoping our one but perfectly times shag in the fertile zone has done the trick! 'Twas a day 11 shag which seems to be my magic formula but let's see! Only ten days to wait

OP posts:
emma85x · 21/01/2015 19:03

Thank you farfallarocks as I'm deffo not preggo I'm having a large glass of vino! Wine

Your day 11 comment made me smile and think of the 12 days of Christmas but changed it to 'on the 11th day of fertility my true love said to me..... Fancy a shag?!'

Imps9 · 22/01/2015 09:20

Good moooooorrrrrrrning Brookers.

Loopy sorry to hear about the scan. A friend of mine had repeated miscarriages after having a termination at 21 weeks (the baby had no chance of life outside of the womb) - she had a minor op to solve the issue and now has a 3 year old and is pregnant with another. You WILL have your third baby - it is only a matter of time, and time is on your side.

Emma hang in there lovely! TTC is tough but worth it! I've been in TTC mode for 4 years now - I can honestly say the first 6 months were the worst for me. Once we'd hit that stage, I had a calm acceptance that this would be tricky for us, but c'est la vie. I'm happy to play the hand that life deals me and whilst we're still on the road to having a child, I still believe we can get there one day, even if not in the immediate future. You of course won't be TTC for that long - after your well-timed shags there is absolutely no reason why you can't be pregnant. You are a Brooker after all!

Far have you had your second opinion yet? Will you start your next round in March or before then??

AFM, we're off on holiday today - right now I am waiting for delivery of IVF drugs - squee!! Had my stabbing lesson yesterday - yet another skill to add to my CV. Mr Imps and I have been off booze since 1 Jan, and we will both be off it until I get pregnant - we allowed ourselves the night off of abstinence yesterday and by god we're struggling today! Can't remember the last time I drank so much in one evening. Had a lovely time though, god love Mr I.

Sorry if I don't post for a couple of weeks but not sure what the signal will be like on holiday! Lots of love to you all while I'm away :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 22/01/2015 10:51

So sorry Loopy. Hope you get some answers.

Have an amazing holibob Imps! And good luck with the first jabs. It'll be second nature before you know it. Very excited for you x

Hope you're feeling better Pasta

Emma, TTC is a tough journey. This thread is great as we have all had our struggles, so we know how you feel. Stick around Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 22/01/2015 10:52

And I'm so pleased all looks ok Keep. Hope being back at work isn't too bad x

Pastamancer · 22/01/2015 11:08

Make the most of all this gallavanting Imps, you won't get a chance when the triplets are born

Loopy sorry to hear that the scan confirmed what we feared. Fingers crossed now they are investigating it will be something simple that they can fix.

Emma we have had a number of Brookers who have had hard times TTC. Part of what makes this such a fab group is the support we give each other and I think that is down to the difficulties faced. It certainly makes me realise just how lucky I am. Imps was on the thread when I got my first BFP, the result of that will be 3 in May and it is so cruel that Imps is still waiting.

Imps9 · 22/01/2015 11:43

Aaaawwwhhh thanks Pasta - but I am honestly okay with the wait! Mr I and I have had a fab 4 years and done tonnes of stuff that we would never have done if we had a kid (inc me cycling 102 miles in 8 hours - one of the best things I have ever done and something I will never forget). Life without kids hasn't been cruel to us so I am happy with and grateful for that!

emma85x · 24/01/2015 00:11

You're all so lovely. I'm sticking around Smile Hope you're all well, sending lots of Fx to you all x

cartoontrickster · 27/01/2015 08:45

checking in as u all feel off my threads I'm on.
hope your enjoying your holiday imps
loopy how are you?

hinkyhonk · 28/01/2015 08:46

Hello just tiptoeing in. After much debate (about three years of it) we're in the game this month. Have been lucky in the conception stakes in the past but apparently I am now officially a geriatric mother so who knows how that will effect things....

cartoontrickster · 29/01/2015 13:26

hi hinky I love it when brookers come back for another game of smack the rat.Grin Grin

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 30/01/2015 14:42

Tricks I'm ok, just plodding on. Got a consultant appointment through but it's not until the 9th March. So torn between putting ttc on hold until after then, or trying again if I ovulate in the meantime. Although given that my cycles aren't exactly regular/the normal length, I'm not sure when I am next likely to ovulate after the mc. Having blood tests done next week so will hopefully get the results from those back well before the consultants appointment.

Hinky have you name changed?

Pastamancer · 30/01/2015 16:30

Hinky my memory is useless, are you the proud owner of the first ever Brooking Baby?

hinkyhonk · 30/01/2015 17:39

Loopy poor you. Hope the consultant can give you some helpful insight.

Am indeed a name changer, it's I hawthers

cartoontrickster · 30/01/2015 18:44

it's so difficult loopy we got pregnant with N when we were waiting for test results after our 3rd mc, so we weren't supposed to be trying. I was panicking though incase the results showed that something was wrong and therefore that pregnancy be doomed too. nhs found nothing wrong but private tests showed high nk cells so I had treatment for that. no idea if N would still be here if I hadn't. not sure if any of that is helpfull really. it's a horrible wait, you feel like you are in limbo.
