Thanks Bears, I'm relieved to see that it is not uncommon finally to announce it by email, I'll definitively send an email :)
To be honest, I really like this job and as it is linked with a formation, it don't want to leave now (my formation will be over in 20 months) but as you said, if I start to hate the job, I should probably leave. I'll check the maternity conditions right now! :)

poppet85 · 29/07/2014 13:07

Steph I would just keep it professional give her as much information about leave as you can . I know my boss wasnt happy when I told her she tried to be though !! Yesterday I told her about an appointment on the 19th at 3:20pm and she asked if I wanted to take half a days holiday to cover it ?! I said no I'll just take the time you have to give me!!

Cupcake92 · 29/07/2014 13:09

That's good Ducky!! :D I'm excited about labour I am! I just hope I get to deliver naturally this time :)

Cupcake92 · 29/07/2014 13:13

Poppet! That's bad ur boss suggested to take half a days holiday!! By law they have to let u have time off for the appointments!
Some bosses are so silly! With DS they were telling me to book my appointments outside of work hours, which was impossible as my midwife only see people in the mornings. In the end tho I quit that job and started at the care home. Was much better lol

steph1204 · 29/07/2014 13:28

Thanks poppet, I'll try to write a nice email, stating all the important information and I will add that I will do my best to ensure that for the next months, my work won't be affect by my pregnancy and I'll remind her that I really appreciate the opportunity to work with her. Hope she will appreciate it :/

poppet85 · 29/07/2014 13:46

I know my boss is bit of a bitch all smiles but thinks everyone should be a slave to work theres no excuses !!We're a small charity not a multi national company !!

Oh god yes Blush

Bring on mat leaveeee Envy

LuluJakey1 · 29/07/2014 17:00

Well my boss was lovely when I told him. I must be lucky with him. It is difficult in schools because it is hard to get anyone decent at odd times during the year because teacher contracts run term to term. He also has to find someone internally to take on my responsibilities but he managed to look genuinely pleased for us.

Have been out for a walk and lunch-soup and a sandwich. Managed to avoid the cakes. It is about to rain here. Hot and dark!

Hope you got on well today Bears.

Cupcake92 · 29/07/2014 17:39

Oooo I love packing hospital bags!!! :D I know exactly what to take this time. I must remember to pack a nighty for birth and not a massive tshirt!! As that didn't rele work for me last time :p

And yes Bears I hope it went well today! :)

Ducky23 · 29/07/2014 18:10

How come not a t shirt cupcake?

I was planning on that! Don't really know what to take so been making a list and have some things from last time. Last time I didn't take a thing with me Hmm I didn't realise I was in labor you see! Youl have to give me tips Grin

Cupcake92 · 29/07/2014 18:25

Well I couldn't wear trousers obviously as I thought baby would come out down there! Haha but after birth I struggled with the tshirt as I was on the ward and it wasn't long enough to cover my bum! Lol! So couldn't walk about and then wen I got some pj bottoms I couldn't put them on as it hurt to bend down. And also they ended up being covered in blood and I just looked weird. So I'm going to go with a nighty this time ! Primark do nice one and rele cheap so may buy 2 of them!
Also I'd recommend a extra long charger for ur phone, I used to keep mine on charge and if I needed DH at night time of call him or if I needed more things id call my mom.
Wet wipes to freshen up!
A V shaped pillow as hospitals were awful to feed baby on!
Ooo and bring ur own cordial! As they give u huge jugs of water but if ur like me and hate water u never drink it :p

Oh my gosh I want to do a hospital bag!! :( too early for me tho! But I deffo will be doing one earliest incase I go into early labour again

LenaW2109 · 29/07/2014 18:36

Well I hope this thread can be lucky for me TTC since Feb after losing baby boy at 22 weeks in November. I am 38 so have been waiting a while for my bump so wish me luck!

iamdivergent · 29/07/2014 18:40

Welcome Lena, good luck - we're a friendly bunch on here :-)

Me624 · 29/07/2014 19:35

Hi everyone! I've been off the thread again for ages, been really busy with work! My dtd marathon starts tomorrow and DH has promised to be totally on board this month. He's been pre warned and is conserving his energy! Fingers crossed we get lucky this time.

LuluJakey1 · 29/07/2014 19:48

Hello Lena - you are very welcome.

Cupcake, Ducky, Iam- this is the kind of talk that scares me! Massive granny pants, breast pads, disposable maternity knickers.....what is lanisoh?

As I intend to have a pain free, blood free, fast birth where I am unconscious and know nothing, will I need any of those?

iamdivergent · 29/07/2014 19:58

a brand of breast beds, they do/did nipper cream too which I found the best Grin

Hi Lena welcome! Good luck TTC we are all very friendly here anything u want to talk about just pop up! :)

And hi Me!!! Hoping this months ur month!! :D

Omg yes yes yes to the disposable knickers!!!! And LOTS of them!! I'm buying so many packs this time! I liked the ones from super drug. I'm sure they were from super drug. Or maybe boots?

Lol Lulu bless u! The pain is what makes labour! It's a good pain! :) means baby is about to meet their mommy and daddy! I was told always think positive of contractions and the pain. That way u can get through them easier :) think of it as good pain, it's leading towards something amazing so u want more pain! :)

Bearsinmotion · 29/07/2014 20:01

Oh yes I'd blanked out forgotten the need for lansinoh!

Best piece of advice I was given prebaby was buy as many muslins as you think you need, then buy as many again. Then buy a few more!

Booking in was fine. She asked lots of questions, took bloods and wee sample and pretended to laugh at DP's jokes Hmm. My birth plan will be the same as it was for DD - go to hospital, give birth whichever way seems easiest, go home again! Although preferably no ventouse this time.

LuluJakey1 · 29/07/2014 20:01

IAM what is a 'breast bed' ? Now I am totally baffled.

I have read awful stories on MN recently about what happens to your fanjo after giving birth. I am dreading it.
