To all the pregnant ladies, when are your next/first scan??
Mine will be on 15th August... :)

macmissy · 28/07/2014 11:03

Thanks Bears! I know I am going to be super frustrated with the waiting game.. it was bad enough with the TWW, now I have another TWW for the doctors. 2 weeks is way too long to see a doctor!

Cupcake92 · 28/07/2014 11:11

Macmissy, I can't even see the doctor! I've got to wait till my 8 week midwife appointment :( they said there's no point in seeing the doctor. I've had a csection with my last baby he's going to be 1 in 2 weeks time :) but at the end I was induced as he wasn't moving a lot and was consultant led care. I was told I should see the doc for a health check up and to check my Incision is healthy and fine if I got pregnant again. But they wouldn't let me book a docs appt. they said just see the midwife at 8 weeks. I've been having cramps as well n always worries me about my uterous rupting :s as I've read about that! I have to wait another 3 weeks! :(

Cupcake92 · 28/07/2014 11:11

Steph my 12 week scan should be on my birthday on September 15th :)

macmissy · 28/07/2014 11:32

Oh cupcake that's absolutely awful, I have had cramps too - I thought it was AF cramps to be honest.

Try not to read about anything, I know it is hard but I think the internet is a nightmare for that - try and stay positive honey. Thinking of you. If you're very worried I would just book a doctors appointment anyway & not tell anyone why

LuluJakey1 · 28/07/2014 11:54

Cupcake- I had them for the first few weeks. I was always running to the loo and checking.

I have an ache at the moment - DH tells me it is my ligaments in my pelvis stretching and that he did warn me it would happen and I would worry. FFS!

LuluJakey1 · 28/07/2014 11:55

I think missy is right. If you are worried book a Drs appt and don't say what it is for. You will feel better with reassurance.

Bearsinmotion · 28/07/2014 12:26

Thirded re: doctor's appointment! I saw my GP, she gave me the Mat1B form so I get free prescriptions. Was it the receptionist who wouldn't let you make an appointment?

Cupcake92 · 28/07/2014 12:38

That's ladies. Yes it was the receptionist that told me I don't need to make one.
The only problem is that my doctors is full a lot for appointments if they aren't urgent. It takes 2 weeks anyway.

Also does anyone know about cat litter?? Just been told by my mom I shouldn't touch or change cat litter when pregnant as ur not allowed :s

Cupcake92 · 28/07/2014 12:38

Thanks *

Bearsinmotion · 28/07/2014 12:51

litter info [[http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2620.aspx]]

Just go ahead and make one anyway, you might not need an appointment with the GP, but if you want one you should make one - the receptionist at my GP's never asks what an appt is for anyway...

macmissy · 28/07/2014 12:53

Call and try to get in honey, it won't hurt & even if you do have to wait for 2 weeks, it's better waiting for 2 than 4 or more!

Bearsinmotion · 28/07/2014 13:04

Bah - why doesn't that link work?

www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2620.aspx

macmissy · 28/07/2014 13:13

It does now :)

Ducky23 · 28/07/2014 16:08

Yayy you found us mac GrinGrinGrinGrin so lucky this thread is!

I had the cramping for te first few weeks. Apparently it's everything stretching, I know it's hard but try not to worry!

Steph my 20 week scan is on Tuesday Blush scary stuff!!!

Cupcake I have read you really shouldn't be in contact with cat litter when pg, can DH sort it?

poppet85 · 28/07/2014 16:11

Receptionist are terrible sometimes. When I found out I was pregnant I had awful stomach cramps and tried to get an emergency appointment she asked what for and heard her shouting over to her colleague 'shall I send het to the epu ?' !!!! It was awful . The dr that saw me though was lovely !

Ducky23 · 28/07/2014 16:17

A week tomorrow I mean!

Cupcake92 · 28/07/2014 17:04

Thanks everyone :)
And DH said he'd do the litter but I know he won't as he is at work most the time. Ill just do it and put rubber gloves on like that link said. And wash hands throughouly :)

I called doctors but the earliest I could get in is 13th August but that's my littles boys 1st bday and we are off to the zoo! And she said next available day was the Monday 18th n there's no point then as I have midwife on the Wednesday!
Terrible doctors I have!
If I feel too worried ill just make an urgent appt.

I'm deffo pg tho!! Decided to have cheese today, took one bite and suddenly felt so sick. Had to run off and puke! Now the site smell and thought of cheese is making me feel nauseous! :s so glad it's not chocolate this time tho!!

Cupcake92 · 28/07/2014 18:25

Is anybody here consultant led? If so what does it involve? Like do I have to see the GP a lot?

bradders85 · 28/07/2014 18:26

Congrats macmissy! Yes I am still waiting - cd 3 for me but feeling a renewed sense of optimism - hope it lasts!! :-)

LuluJakey1 · 28/07/2014 18:37

cupcake I am consultant led because of my thyroid problems. It hasn't involved much of anything except the clinic I go to is at the city hospital where he works. Have seen him twice and his Senior Reg, or whatever they are called, once when I had the bleeding. Oh I got another extra scan then as well.

I have monthly blood tests and had an early scan when I first saw him at about 8 weeks. Apart from that nothing special.

LuluJakey1 · 28/07/2014 18:43

Is anyone else doing healthy eating?

I have tried really hard for the last 10 days. Lots of fruit, salads and have started eating chicken again after several years no meat. I feel much better but giving up Magnum ice creams has been hard! What I wouldn't do for a mint Magnum right now !

have conveniently forgotten giant cream tea I consumed last Friday- 4 sandwiches, huge slice of fresh cream and strawberry Victoria sponge and large cream scone with jam

Cupcake92 · 28/07/2014 18:48

So it's not much different to midwife led care then. That's good lol thought I'd have to have a lot more appointments to go to! I hope I get an early scan or at least a growth scan nearer the end.

Lulu I've TRIED eating healthily! I've been snacking on grapes. But I have had chocolate cake! Oops!
