A group of lovely ladies who've seen it all

OP posts:
eurochick · 09/10/2014 14:37

fluffy welcome and thanks. My story is me 38, mr euro 39, 3 years ttc, "unexplained", 3 rounds of Letrozole, 2 rounds of IUI and 4 rounds of natural or mild IVF (mc from the first round, baby from the fourth). My baby was born very small at 34 weeks due to a failing placenta, but is 12 weeks old today and doing well. It has been a long and stressful road, but I am so happy that she is here.

berry mcs are so hard. Mine really took it out of me and really affected my experience when I got my second BFP. I didn't even celebrate. I just said to mr euro "here we go again" when I got the second line on a stick.

doll! It's so lovely to hear from you. Are you back in the UK? How is life with tiny doll?

CritterPants · 09/10/2014 20:14

Hello ladies,

fluffy glad you are feeling a little better, as cos says we are massive over sharers here! Chlamydia is SO common, you definitely shouldn't feel bad about it in the slightest. I'm just sorry you had a horrible ex, and so glad you're with someone lovely now.

doll it's so nice to hear from you. I am so glad you still check in here.

euro hoping I will copy you and it'll be lucky number four. Smile

berry I agree with euro, mcs are totally shit and draining emotionally. I can imagine how awful it must have been to show up at the 12 week scan and get that horrible news.

Adding my loooong story:

Me 34, MrC 35. TTC 3.5 years - periods never came back when I came off the Pill in April 2011. Started Clomid in November 2011, did 5 rounds total (3 unmonitored prescribed by gyno, no ovulation, 2 monitored at fertility clinic, ovulated once). One round of injectables in August 2012 which was cancelled when I produced 8 eggs so they were worried about me being an octomom. Recommended IVF in October 2012, chickened out and finally did it in March 2013 - six blastocysts. Transferred one fresh 5 day blast, BFP, straightforward pregnancy, son James born in Jan 2014 by emergency c section at 39 + 3 after sudden heavy bleeding, suspected some blood vessels in his cord ruptured and he died from oxygen deprivation-induced brain damage 20 hours later. Told to wait 6 months before TTC again. June 2014 - single frozen embryo transfer - BFP, mc at 5 + 4. Sept 2014 - single frozen embryo transfer - BFN. 3 frosties left, will transfer next one at the end of October, then last two together if that doesn't work.

Left Doug on his own today outside his crate for a few hours and it was a success! No incidents when I got home after lunch, and he was very well-behaved if extremely excited to see me. Grin He does go mental when he sees a squirrel though, he has a really strong prey drive. He nearly murdered one yesterday because it didn't move fast enough, I managed to yank him back in the nick of time. He is so chilled out and dozy at home that it's a crazy contrast. He is currently passed out in a 'Superman' pose, back legs stretched out behind, front legs stretched out in front, head on paws.

Buzzybee123 · 09/10/2014 20:44

x posts critter I imagine he spent alot of time in his crate so has bad memories about being left in it now, a family friend rescued a dog who spent most of the day in a cage with another dog, she could never get him into one

akuabadoll · 10/10/2014 04:11

Wow these histories are really something written out aren't they? I think I'm relatively lucky.
euro we are in the mystical east, buz thanks for asking after the children. Basically they are feral and plot to destroy me. I have a plan to escape though - I return to work next week. We are settled here now, though it took some time, little and tiny doll believe themselves to be Asian and have developed some sleeping and eating styles that would raise an eyebrow in my mother's house.

berrygoround · 10/10/2014 09:31

Gald you're feeling better Fluffy.

I think I will feel much the same, euro.

Aw, I love the 'superman' pose Critter. It is just the cutest thing ever!

My story for the list is:

Me, 28 and Mr B, 28 (I hope that's ok, I couldn't see an over 30 policy on here which I know there is on a few other threads. We met at school if anyone is wondering why we got started young!) TTC since August 2012. MMC at 12 wks in July 2013. Diagnosed with endo in May 2014. Laparoscopy to remove endo booked for Dec 14. Further issue with bicornuate/septate uterus. Awaiting initial appointment at fertility clinic.

berrygoround · 10/10/2014 09:33

Just realised, I should have added to the list, so.....

Buzzybee123 · 10/10/2014 10:22

doll that sounds like the best way to be, we lived in Africa when I was young and told everyone in NZ that I was a white Zambian Grin which is obviously not true but it embarrassed my mother no end Grin back to work sounds good, full time or part time, it can take time to settle into new places especially when they are culturally very different to what you are used to

berry really over 30 ???

berrygoround · 10/10/2014 10:38

Yes, I think the BESH and the elderberries thread both say over 30s only although I don't know if the rules are bent occasionally Smile

CritterPants · 10/10/2014 12:27

Berry it's nice to have a young un! Wink Ah, high school sweethearts, lovely. Did you get together at school or was it afterwards? I met MrC when I was 24 and always felt like that was young but since then I've met quite a few people who got together at school or knew each other at school. Must be so lovely to almost grow up together.

Doll I miss your funny posts. I intrigued as to what these eating and sleeping habits are. Grin Great that you're going back to work soon, I hope it's a smooth transition.

Buzz I think you might be right about the crate, the rescue lady told me that his previous foster will have definitely crated him as she has had 14 foster dogs in her time and not all of them were house trained so she learnt the hard way. And I don't know what his history was before he ended up in the rural shelter. How is Kayla the cat coping with mini bee's reign? Smile

Buzzybee123 · 10/10/2014 13:31

critter I think some people just put animals in a cage just so they don't have to deal with them, its so cruel, you wonder why people have pets in the first place, Kayla is becoming a bit more my cat as I am home at present, having BB did calm her down alot at the beginning, now BB is just trouble, Kayla makes sure she is just out of reach of little fingers when she sleeps on the bed and jumps up high to escape the chasing, I bet she wishes she had a garden Wink

Poutintrout · 10/10/2014 17:41

Just lost a post into the ether, really just wanted to say how pleased I am about your blood test results joy, I am so pleased and relieved for you.

Hello to the newbies, it's been ages since we had anybody join our thread, welcome.

critter Your furry lodger is gorgeous, I love the photos on t'other place.

Grin at poor Kayla and the unwanted loving attentions of BB

Waves to everyone.

berrygoround · 13/10/2014 12:49

Thanks, Critter. We got together just as went left school and I went off to Uni (always a good idea to start a relationship just as you move halfway across the country!) Smile

It's been quiet on the thread. Hope everyone has had a good weekend!

CritterPants · 13/10/2014 14:00

It is quiet! Berry is your appointment soon? Was it you that had an appointment this week? Your relationship must be a strong one if you got together just before uni and were long distance.

Buzz a white Zambian! That is hilarious. You are too funny. GrinGrin

Joy is your first scan this week?

How's everyone else? Still loving Doug, we formally adopted him on Saturday, yay! I love meeting people when I take him for walks, it's funny how you chat to people more when you have a dog. Feels nice. Smile Got highlights this weekend too so feeling spruced up which always gives me a boost. The hairdresser was telling me about how he gives his dog, a golden retriever husky mix, blow dries! Grin

joycep · 13/10/2014 16:07

Critter such wonderful news about doug. So thrilled for you!
Hope everyone else is well.
Scan is suppose to be on wed but I think this pregnancy is over. Started bleeding quite a lot and not brown blood either and i am beginning to feel crampy. Reminds me of my first miscarriage. I have left a message for my GP to get me referred to the epu. I stupidly thought nausea and totally exhaustion I have been feeling was a good sign. Sad

OP posts:
CritterPants · 13/10/2014 16:28

Oh no joy sweetheart I so so hope this isn't bad news, you must be beside yourself with worry. Can you just go to the EPU? I didn't realise you had to have a referral.

CritterPants · 13/10/2014 16:29

Also can you go home at least? I really hope you're not at work...

MuddyWellyNelly · 13/10/2014 18:26

Joy honey I hope you are now at home if not at a clinic being seen. I just cannot believe this could happen again. I won't believe it and will continue to be positive on your behalf. We all know lots of stories where bleeding was not the end, but I know you've been on the other end too so can imagine how scary this is. Hopefully it's just a blip to scare you. Big love xx

Critter I'm so happy about Doug. He is a lucky pooch to have found a home with you.

Berry that's a sweet story. I'm in awe. The men I knew at that age were tossers Wink

Waiting for AF here which is of course annoyingly late. Not done a day 21 DR before so is this normal. I was told to expect a bleed as normal, but would have time that for this past weekend. As Mr N and I had only the one shag at totally the wrong time, I am under no illusions about any other reason for the delay!

Cosmonaut1 · 13/10/2014 18:29

Oh Joy ffs. But there have been too many on this thread alone where bleeding hasn't meant it was all over so I'm holding out hope for you. Massive hand hold, really hope you are ok. At my epu you could self refer if over 6 weeks, don't know how they vary. Hang on in there lovely.

Critter that is so lovely to hear about Doug. So glad he is giving you a new lease of life.

Berry tis often quiet on the weekend on this thread. It perks up when everyone goes back to work!

My story is: me 36, him 37, ttc 7 years. Tried most things including 2 fresh and 2 frozen rounds of Ivf. Had septum resected in May. 3 early mc's last year which were a result of taking extra progesterone. Currently contemplating next steps. Have had consistent bleeding between periods which is currently back which a vengeance after seemingly clearing up after the septum resection.

How is everyone else today?

Cosmonaut1 · 13/10/2014 18:32

Cross posts Nelly, It wouldn't surprise me if the dr delayed timings, I'm sure that's happened to others on here. How irritating, hope it shoes up soon so you know where you are and can crack on.

Berry that is sweet and good on you for making it long distance through uni. I met my DH at uni.

joycep · 13/10/2014 20:06

Nelly, my period didn't arrive for 11days after stopping dr. Actually that was neothisterone. What were you on? As far as I can work out a lot of people's AF don't play ball after dr. How long has it been?

Cos- i didn't realise your mid cycle bleeding had come back so badly. That's annoying but hopefully with last month's high temps , the bleeding doesn't matter.

Thanks cos and critter and nelly. My GP has booked me in to epu on Wednesday first thing. It will save me going for a scan late pm with my clinic. They are fully booked tomorrow but if it all gets heavier and cramps get worse i may be able to call tomorrow and get squeezed in. You can't self refer at all at this ePu.
I know that bleeding is so common in early pregnancy and it really can go either way. I think this long journey to get here and knowing what you have to go through just to conceive just makes it all so bleak and assume the worst doesn't it.

OP posts:
Cosmonaut1 · 13/10/2014 20:25

Joy glad you got booked in. I hope you get through tomorrow ok. And there's absolutely no surprise that you would fear the worst after your awful experiences, but I'm so hoping for the best for you. Hope you can distract yourself enough till then.

CritterPants · 13/10/2014 20:26

Joy I will have everything crossed for you, I really will. The fact that it hasn't sped up so far is good - with my mc everything started coming out pretty fast. It could be a haemotoma (sp) like sarlat had. You must be so worried, I so hope this is just a horrible scare.

Nelly I hope AF comes quickly for you so you can get on with things.

cos I have heard that bleeding mid cycle can be low progesterone. Did you mention it when you saw your two whizzy docs? Do you have another appointment set up with them reasonably soon? What did the Chinese doc think?

eurochick · 13/10/2014 20:53

joy I hope your bleed turns out the same as mine - I started bleeding just after my 6 week scan. Heavy red blood with cramping. It was a sub chorionic haematoma. I had 3 weeks of blood but she stuck in there. BTW Tommies epu take self-referrals and were great with me. You just turn up and wait.

nelly my period was delayed when downregging. I hope you don't have too long to wait.

critter your new lodger is adorable.

raydown · 13/10/2014 20:57

Joy, I was just coming on to say about euros bleed. But she's beaten me to it. Hang in there. I'm thinking of you and wishing and hoping you get some good news.

Nelly, my period came on 7 days after day 21 downregging injection.
