thanks chandlers. really hope she comes back with some exciting news for us!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 31/07/2014 13:39

Cinnamon I don't know why I'm so down about it Sad it's not as if I don't have a family. How many days passed af date were you when you got your bfp? I've very rarely got a bfp before that date myself. That's why I have up on early testing. Af I can cope with better but limbo is cruel.

Shetland · 31/07/2014 14:01

Thanks the grand - I have used it before but not for a while so I'm a bit rusty!
Actually, I think what's happened is that I got my peak yesterday on the 10th test and I thought it would keep going asking for tests as it was a longer cycle - but I guess as what it tells you after a peak is pre-programmed then 10 tests was enough?

cinnamongreyhound · 31/07/2014 14:27

On a 28 day cycle it would have been tomorrow but I was sure I ovulated weds so I wait until 14dpo MrsExtraOrdinary. With ds1 I tested the day af was due and got negative, then tested again 10 days later and it was very strong. With ds2 af was due 22nd and I got bfp Christmas Day :)
I don't think it matters how many children you have it's still tough feeling you want one more! I have spent the last 2 years desparate for another baby, thinking there was no chance dh would say yes and crying when I saw a pregnant woman at times. One of my mindees loves babies and we went over to a newborn at one of the toddler groups we go to so she could say hello and I literally broke into uncontrollable crying Blush totally embarrassed myself but I just couldn't stop it!! Feel a strange sense of contentment at the moment Confused

TheGrandHighWitch · 31/07/2014 15:18

Ah yes Shetland I didn't realise your first peak was on the 10th test so that makes more sense now.

I managed to pick up three packs of soy isoflavones in Tesco today so should hopefully be set if af decides to arrive.

Aprilray · 31/07/2014 15:45

Have had no internet access at work today until now - have actually had to do some work.

I've been using a CBFM Shetland, though I have fallen out with mine, last month I only got high readings despite confirming ov with my temps and this month only low but got +tive OPK on Monday and temps are high. Refused to feed it today as don't want to waste another 10 sticks and going to call the helpline.

Welcome Bluebird and teachermummy2b Smile

Lucie fab job with the stats, must have taken ages! I ordered my softcups off Amazon yesterday and got a despatch confirmation today- they are due between 8-29 August but should be fine for my next ov time. Hopefully you find some in Boots.

Good luck testing tomorrow Serenity and you too GrandHighWitch if you test - FX. Lots of Dragon luck to everyone

MrsExtraOrdinary · 31/07/2014 19:30

Cinnamon thankyou so much for sharing your story. I read it on the beach today paddling with littlest ds and it brought a tear to my eye. You are very courageous and I admire your determination very much. I love these buses and no I wasn't giving up at all!

I was very lonely growing up with a very much older dsis and younger dbro. I never had anything in common with either. Over anything else I always craved my own family from very young. So even though ds1 wasn't planned at 18, I was delighted and knew I'd love him to pieces. I just couldn't believe until i had him how much I'd love him. All my friends were going off to university and I was getting ready to have a baby and saving for a mortgage. Bought my first house at 19!!Shock Dd came in quick succession, there's 20 months between them. They were completely perfect together, inseparable. By the time I was 23 I'd had my 2nd ds. H was working exceptionally long hrs in the city. He was 6 yrs older than me. But he struggled to understand what a good dad should do. He loved them to pieces but was clueless. He never knew his own dad. Perhaps if I'd been more patient with him it wouldn't have fallen apart. Fertility wise we never had any problems at all, but then we had a very active sexlife. I used to think everyone was at it. But clearly they aren't as I've learnt from mn. After an mc I decided I needed more from life than he could give. I felt suffocated. As we were divorcing I found out I was pg with another ds3. H was furious and that really was the nail in the coffin. He told he having him would make everyone's life a living hell. I knew it wouldn't and it was just anger. So there I was on my own with 4dc. I never envisaged when I pictured a family that I'd end up doing it on my own. It was a total shock but tbh there were bits I loved about it! I was really blessed with perfect beautiful children. The hardship was there was no one to share it with.

That's when dc4 was about 18mts I met new dh. I had 2 mcs at 7 & 6 wks and then nothing for 18mts, then ds4 out of the blue. His birth took it out of me and if was left quite poorly. Again I felt a bit cheated that I'd wanted our baby for so long and yet I was too ill to enjoy him.

I'm all better now mostly but I can't help wanting another. A playmate for ds. I got a second chance with dh2. Children are a gift. As I see my older ones nearly grown I realise they are only really on loan for a little while. I'm not ready to stop yet even if I should.

cinnamongreyhound · 31/07/2014 20:05

I bought my firs house at 19 too MrsExtraOrdinary! I never wanted children when I was with my ex. We separated in August 2004, I met dh march 2005, he moved in with me in the may and we bought a house together in December. He had 3 year old dss when we met and I was terrified!! It only took a few months for me to hate him going back to his mum, the house was so empty and dh was devastated every Sunday evening :( we started trying in feb 2006, got married in August and af was due on our wedding day, I tested and got bfn. We went on our honeymoon and I started being sick half way through it, tested when we got home and got bfp. I was ready when he was 18months to have another but as I'm self employed dh wanted us to have some money behind us in case I wasn't as lucky to have a healthy pregnancy so we waited but I wasn't as careful and thought if he's not it's his fault! So one miss timed dtd lead to ds2 Wink in 2010. He's 48 and was worried about money as well As having children at home when he retires so said no more. He knew I wasn't happy about it but didn't change his mind and then all of a sudden just said we need a 7 seater car then we can start trying!! Lovely to hear such a positive story about a big family, dh is a bit stressed that he'll have 4 children. It's sounds as though you definitely should have another and they will be very lucky :)

Had my first fertility reflexology tonight was ace!

lucieloos · 31/07/2014 22:18

I'm considering giving fertility acupuncture a try, I've read quite a few good things about it and different success stories. If nothing else then it should help to relax me a bit more as I have been worrying quite a bit lately about my age and whether we have left things too late and never going to have children etc etc. Does anyone have any experience with acupuncture?

kurama · 31/07/2014 22:41

Well this evenings shift at work has been utter shite. Excuse me now while I curl up in a corner and bawl my eyeballs out.HmmHmm

MrsExtraOrdinary · 31/07/2014 23:06

Oh dear Kurama! I'm sure we all know how that feels. I'd say today hasn't been my finest either, but in the words if scarlet o'hara, tomorrow is another day! Hopefully it will be a better one xx

Aprilray · 31/07/2014 23:29

Well said MrsE hopefully you both feel much much better in the morning.

Currently sat up with a glass of Wine waiting for DH to come home...his flight was delayed but determined to stay up to DTD so we have a shot this month even though I'm pretty sure I already oved.

I am having acupuncture Lucie read a book called the baby making bible which I highly recommend, talks about Chinese medicine and acupuncture. On my second month of treatment, was diagnosed with blood stagnation which basically means I have circulation issues which would have affected the blood flow to my womb. Have herbs to take and had the easiest AF of my life last cycle - no need for pain killers for the first time I can recall. It's really relaxing too.
Sorry for waffling!

Serenitysutton · 31/07/2014 23:37

Ok I couldn't wait until tomorrow to test....

BFP!!

Thanks so much for the wonderful support from the jan/feb/mar/April/may/June/July/August buses. You all rock.

Can't wait to hear some more lovely bfps but in case you're interested, my symptoms started 5 days ago (today is 16dpo)

  • diarrhoea every morning at 6am. Just once but horrible
  • mild cramps and dull aches. Exactly the same as period pain but not as painful
  • bloated tummy
  • In the last few days, watery cm

Ooh congratulations Serenity that is brilliant news Smile

ChandlersFarang · 01/08/2014 03:15

Serenity I had a feeling you were going to get a BFP this cycle from your symptoms!!!! Congratulations and thank you for letting us know the facts!!! we do love them so. Here's to a happy 9 months ahead!! GrinGrin

ChandlersFarang · 01/08/2014 03:19

HAPPY AUGUST by the way!! So was Serenity the 22nd and final BFP on the July bus? Who's in the running for first BFPs in August?! Fx everyone!! Smile Smile

I'm 5DPO and STILL have an ear infection, was off work all day yesterday again watching even more TV, lol!! As usual was googling Wink and discovered many women getting ear infections in their first trimester! So have put it down to that. Contracting it at 2DPO is definitely NOT too early for that explanation of course WinkWinkGrinGrin. The only good thing is all the 'bed rest' I've been getting which I note IVF clinics recommend in the 2WW. Hoping the little blastocyst doesn't mind paracetamol/antibiotics/a moping mother!!! Wink

ChandlersFarang · 01/08/2014 03:20

BY THE WAY I've invented something I think you should all know about!! I was told to hold a 'warm compress' on my ear but not get it wet. And funnily enough I don't have a hot water bottle in Bangkok..!! So I put some uncooked rice in a sock, tied the end, and microwaved it!! An amazing little Asian invention!! Hahahaha. You're welcome. WinkWink

ChandlersFarang · 01/08/2014 03:23

One last thing - I've been doing acupuncture too! Had it this cycle in the lead-up to ovulation when I was trying to create mature follicles, and ended up with 3 good ones of equal size! My doc was super impressed. Whether acupuncture helped or not I dunno but was an impressive haul - I always feel great afterwards, and had one particularly awesome session during that period where I could feel tons of energy rushing around my body. Try to drift off to sleep if you can as this apparently stops your brain interfering!! Lol. I had another session on ovulation day, so will see how I get on at the end of the TWW!! Had to cancel last nights session due to my earache but will be back on Sunday, when I'll be around potential implantation time. Fx!!

lp2014 · 01/08/2014 06:33

Congratulations serenity!

Happy August! And we're off!

Serenitysutton · 01/08/2014 06:44

Thank you :)

I forgot to mention some of the little things which may (I'm convinced they did) help-

CBFM - until this cycle I used internet cheapies. They don't even compare to cbfms which are brilliant

Acupuncture- since April. Has regulated everything. I must buy my acupuncturist a pressie

I did eat a pineapple and 5 Brazil nuts a day from a few days post ov. Only 1 pineapple though- 2 slices a day.

Supplements- macca for the last 6 weeks. Angus castas for the last 3 months or so which got rid of all my pmt symptoms so is clearly excellent at regulating hormones
Omega 3 oils and pre conception vitamin. EPO from cd1 until ovulation to increase CM

All very scientific!
