Here we go again!

OP posts:
Juicylucythe2nd · 14/09/2006 10:09

You didn't offend me MrsMJ - we're still buddies

Not going to get my hopes up Coggy. Got stabby pains too, but CM + pains could mean stress and that I'm trying to hard to OV (according to Toni), so just waiting for next week to come round and plan to buy thermometer today and enter the world of temping next week.

I think maybe Oct is more my month anyway, as only just started to be good re the whole alc thing and only started Royal Jelly 2 weeks ago, so it may take a month to make me as fertile as a queen bee

coggy · 14/09/2006 10:12

You must let us know how you get on with those.
Are they very expensive?

I think Royal Jelly is supposed to be very good for lots of things.

Juicylucythe2nd · 14/09/2006 11:11

I paid £90 for 3 months, which is quite a bit, but it was recommended by a friend so I thought I'd give it a go. The liquid form is meant to be more effective as it's less processed, but who knows.

It's also recommended for men, but I'm already force-feeding my DH zinc and folic acid, so I think this would be a supplement too far!

I'll pass judgement on it:

  1. after 3 months; or
  2. if I fall pg before then

Opinion is likely to be seriously biased in one direction in either case

royaljelly

MrsMcJnr · 14/09/2006 11:22

Thank you for that link Juicy (was there not a song a few years back called that? ) I thought it was really interesting. Please keep me posted on how the Royal Jelly makes you feel, even aside from TTC it sounds like it would target some on my major hurdles in life like feeling constantly tired and stressed!!

coggy · 14/09/2006 11:35

Yeah thanks for that Juicy...sorry I had to disappear as I thought that it was probably about time that I got showered and dressed!!!

desperate2bmum · 14/09/2006 13:22

i am absolutely loving your new name...juicy lucy lol

hope you are all ok and doing lots of bding

well i have now recovered from night away for dps birthday. wasnt very good at all really.
It was a suprise for dp i booked us a night in a posh hotel and a meal on an "a la carte" restaurant in the hotel and asked for champagne to be put in room and couldnt stress the fact enough it was a SUPRISE!!
when we arrived we got seated and ordered our drinks it took them 15 minutes to bring over 2 drinks from a bottle! then when the main course came out we ordered wine with it and they plonked it on the table and left us tucking into our meal with the cork still in it. the steak was fatty as anything!! and then i got thinking about the menu...it wasnt a la carte it was a set meal type thing for the "business" folk there! we had to sit listening to an american on his mobile giving business advice to a colleague for over an hour. Then to top it all off the waiter came over and said can i take your room number as you are staying at the hotel...SO BANG WENT THE SUPRISE AT THE END OF THE EVENING!
i know i should have complained but as this was the first time i had done somthing special for dp for his birthday i didnt want to ruin the mood by moaning at the staff so i just grinned and beared it and paid £300 on departure..crazy i know

have woken up with extremely sore nips this morning...and i havnt even ov'd yet so dont quite know what is going on there.

MrsMcJnr · 14/09/2006 13:41

Oh desperate - what awful service! If I were you I would write to them now and tell them what went wrong etc, you might get a free - BDing weekend out of it!!

Juicylucythe2nd · 14/09/2006 13:45

Desperate - that your surprise was spoiled. I would write a letter of complaint listing the disasters and your reason for not mentioning it at the time.

At the very least you should get a letter of apology (and hopefully the offer of a nice free meal to make up for it!)

No clue on the sore nips. And no BD'ing here, DH has been away for the last week and is not back until the 23rd , and I can't be arsed to do any self-service LOL.

Babymad4num3 · 14/09/2006 14:16

I brought some "FRESH ROYAL JELLY CAPSULES" off ebay £5 including post, good stuff but haven't started using it yet giving DQ a go first!

Thinking about buying a new "DIGITAL LCD THERMOMETER" only £3.09 off ebay!

How are we all?

OP posts:
Juicylucythe2nd · 14/09/2006 14:34

Hi Babymad, how you didlin?

I'm looking at the ones on Access Diagnostics, but don't know if 1/10 readings are good enough for temping. Anyone know?

They're £4.25 for 2.

andi0411 · 14/09/2006 15:11

Hi ladies- can I get a bit of advice pls?

i have never used ov tests- anyway they came this mrning- the strip kind- and I followed the instructions and did the test and it came up pos for ov!! i am cd 16. My q is- how accurate are they- it said if the line was the same or darker than the other line then you are ov- the line was much darker.

Perhaps I'm a late ovulator- but what's the minimum amount of time for a successful LPhase?

TIA

desperate2bmum · 14/09/2006 15:14

yes i think i will write them a letter its not on the way we were treated..i would make allowances if it were a beefeater/travelodge. but to pay top money tou expect top service.

babymad- i brought a thermometer off ebay and the damn thing didnt work and didnt come with any instrcutions! anyway hope your ok hun..?

juicy - lol@self service!

i dont know how some of you do it..your partners are away for days on end. me and dp must be sooo sad we can barely go hours without talking and without seeing is out of the question only on extremely rare occasions do we spend a night apart.

desperate2bmum · 14/09/2006 15:17

andi - did you buy them off of ebay?
i brought some 10 for £3 with postage. i cant really help but i have a similar prob too. when i got mine (2cycles ago) i got a v.faint line for 2 days running on cd13 cd14 then nothing and then on cd17 out of nowhere i got a very dark line. this also made me question how good they are because my lp that month would have only been 11 days. and on my chart thingy on the pc it says 14 days lp is normal.

andi0411 · 14/09/2006 15:21

Thanks Desperate- do you know what the minimum LP is?

If I'm ov today then I could still have Lp of12- 15...

Ps- shocking service you received- complain by letter - I would. You deserve better than that- you may get a few £ back or half price on another stay etc...I know thats not the point but it might help xx

desperate2bmum · 14/09/2006 15:25

according to this websie ive been looking on.

normal lp are between 12-16 days.

but it must be atleast 10 days for implantation to happen. hth

MrsMcJnr · 14/09/2006 15:56

Hey there ladies - a flurry of activity since I was on earlier!

JL2 - 1/10 readings are fine for our purposes. I bought a digital Braun one from Boots for £9.99. It's fine, no probs at all but it would be better if it had a light so I could read the thermometer in bed!

Hi Andi - I have just received the strip kind of OPKs so can't comment yet. Last month I used the midstream clearblue ones. I thought they were pretty easy and seemed to say the same thing as my software re OV date.

Last cycle, I OV on CD18 (had a false start around CD15 - due to Dupree staying), the one before, I OV on CD16. Last cycle my LP was only 10 days with spotting on 9dpo. The one before it was 11 days with spotting on 10dpo. I am a bit worried because it can be an issue but then again, it is not for some people. I am taking B6 this cycle to try and lengthen my LP though.

Desperate - In my last job I was away a couple of nights almost every week and I missed DH terribly, luckily, I hardly ever have a night away from him now Apart from Hen's and Stag's and we have loads of them at the mo!

Babymad4num3 · 14/09/2006 19:21

I'm alright, getting my air-off with these ov-test, planing this cycle BDing, started today ! Tuck DS#S 4yrs for his pre-school boster, lets just say he's not happy with me going around holding his arm telling everyone not to tuch him or his arms! Told DS's that i have two daddys, DS#2 said "you've got one in heven and one here thats really cool" bless!

OP posts:
coggy · 14/09/2006 22:50

Andi and Desperate - normal LP is 10 days +.
GPs reckon it's always 14 days but they are wrong!!!

My LP is 8 days so I have very little chance of implantation.
Ten days is fine apparently.

Desperate....I would definitely complain.
My DH and I don't complain about anything but we recently spent a night away and when asked the next mroning if we slept alright I mentioned that we hadn't because of a dreadful humming sound (not complaining just answering the question!) and they gave us a £70 room for £30!!!
I think I have learnt now to say is something isn't right especially at £300.
Their reputation is at stake...go fo it!!!

Babymad4num3 · 14/09/2006 23:50

And how is every one in here! who's testing this week?

OP posts:
coggy · 15/09/2006 09:12

Not me...I'm on CD10 so a long way to go yet!!

MrsMc...TCOYF told informed me today that my coverline for this month is 36.7........a trifle high wouldn't you say??!!!

Juicylucythe2nd · 15/09/2006 10:09

Theoretically could test next week, but expecting AF sometime between Monday and Thursday.

I've bought the thermometer(s) now, so can start temping from day one. Now just need to get that far in the book before AF arrives! It makes great bedtime reading, but I think I need to go to bed 1/2hour earlier from now on to get to the temping bit in time for AF!

desperate2bmum · 15/09/2006 10:09

coggy - sorry to hear about your short lp - is there anything that you can take to lenghten it? mrsmcjnr is taking b6 this month i wonder if thats worth a try? nothings ever simple in life is it!

i printed some charts off of the net last night for temping so thought i would give it a whirl even though i am in the middle of a cycle theres no harm in practice. well when i woke this morning my temp was 35.2 and graph starts at 36.1 so i have scrapped the 6 sheets i printed off

as for our night away - i shall be writing a letter this weekend to the head office and if we do get some sort of credit back i shall NOT be returning to that hotel i shall ask for another in the chain.

Juicylucythe2nd · 15/09/2006 10:13

Good for you desperate. Give 'em hell!

desperate2bmum · 15/09/2006 10:18

i will because thinking about it just lots of little things have annoyed me like the waiter when he came to take our order for pudding instead of saying what can i get you he said "yup"
infact im not gonna just accept a sorry from them i want some compo because its not acceptable

coggy · 15/09/2006 10:26

Go girl!!
So you should.

My LP has been slightly lengthened to 10dpo and then 11dpo for the past two months because I'm taking clomid and that's a side effect.
It worked last time I took it but I'm on my last 'official' cycle so fingers crossed eh?!
