Hi everyone, I know this is probably a bit early (since it isn't July yet) but I thought I would start a new thread for those who lost their tickets for previous busses and for those who are beginning their bus journey now. Please feel free to add your stats to the list and grab a good seat while you can. Best of luck to everyone TTC and I look forward to getting many BFP's posted on here.

Sunshinesaz86 · 26/06/2014 14:42

Hi Everyone, can i please join. Age 28 TCC#1 Cycle 1 BFP Due 17th July (i think).
I have literally only just come off Cilest and had my first withdrawal bleed so am very early days and new to this. Sorry to some of you having a bad time of it, and fingers crossed for everyone for BFP's this month. I have no idea where to start, so for a couple of months it will all be about DTD as much as possible and then after a couple of months may take it more seriously. I kind of hope i am like my twin, she had an ovary pain, DTD 3 times and wham bam thank you man, but that was nearly 6 years ago so I am not as young as her!!!

im hoping to ov over the weekend while dh is still off work fx Smile

MrsExtraOrdinary · 26/06/2014 15:22

I have to say Kurama, on day 4 caffeine and toxin free, I'm a tad Hungary and tired. Phoned the dr begging for iron injections. They've refused me until now Sad this last week is going to be v hard on the run up to af/bfp with no cake. I might just have a little cry about lack of cake now.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 26/06/2014 15:43

OMG after 4 yrs of begging they are going to refer me to a consultant haematologist. GrinGrin

cinnamongreyhound · 26/06/2014 15:57

Hi MaMaPo, my ds1 took 6 months but ds2 was first try but I do feel very lucky with both of them especially since reading things on here.

I'm sure you'll be fine Rainbow555, try not to worry about things you can't go back and change!

You are definitely being wise FoscarC! Poas early has only ever led me to heart ache and worry Wink. Try not to think that this month is your best chance there are all sorts of reasons you don't get pregnant, the number of times you dtd isn't always important. With ds2 I know for a fact the one time that lead to him being conceived!

Hi sunshinesaz86, good luck!

Yay MrsExtraOrdinary!!

KittyVonCatsington · 26/06/2014 16:39

Foscar - my BFP back in Feb was from an afternoon POAS on a FRER. Line was pretty clear at 11dpo! Just praying for the chance of another one. See that line is the best feeling Grin i'd say go for it in the afternoon. You can always try again in the morning but some sort of line should appear.

BrixtonBunny · 26/06/2014 16:41

Ahh, you ladies are an island of sanity and wisdom. Am off on a hen weekend (camping in the rainHmm) tomorrow and even though I'll only be 8ish days po (who knows though as never entirely sure when I ovulate) am fighting urge to POAS tomorrow before I go - would hate to drink if it's a BFP! Having no symptoms though and as it's only first cycle, & we didn't really do any of the right things (using lube, not measuring cm, etc) I'm pretty sure this cycle will be a bfn anyway. But I think waiting is definitely the right call - you're all right that it only increases stress! Hope all poorly ladies feeling a bit better today & enjoying the lovely sunshine in some way x

KittyVonCatsington · 26/06/2014 16:50

Choccy is that Jan Brosens or something similar? If so, they wrote a paper on recurrent miscarriages that i found interesting and saved to my iBooks. It was about steroids. Hopefully sounds like you'll be getting the best possible expertise.

English your determination and hope has always rubbed off on me and I hope it serves you well this cycle. We just have to get lucky at some point! Are you going to track this cycle or take it easy?

Hi Sunshine welcome! Hope you get your BFP super fast.

laurano81 how are you, chick? Are you getting better since your accident? You're gearing up for ovulation soon, am I right?

No positive OPK yet on CD14 for me, but then I don't expect to, until CD17 or 18. Test line is getting darker though which makes me smile! Still have watery cm - no sign of a repeat of the infamous seven incher stretch from last cycle, yet!!! (sorry if tmi Blush )

KittyVonCatsington · 26/06/2014 16:53

I'm sure you will be fine to drink Bunny even if you are implanting. Back in Feb, me and three other friends got our BFPs. Three of us were teetotal as trying and the other one drinking and going out as normal. Guess which was the only one to go on to have a healthy pregnancy and due in October??!!

Treaclepie19 · 26/06/2014 16:55

Hi all!
Haven't had chance to read back but will later when I get home.
Kitty, hope the ball went well yesterday.
I am so scared for tonight, I really hate public speaking :(

See you all later!

KittyVonCatsington · 26/06/2014 17:00

Can you have a cheeky glass of wine beforehand Treacle????!!

Otherwise, remember, deep breaths, talk slower than feels natural and pretend you are talking to us! Grin

MrsExtraOrdinary · 26/06/2014 17:08

Good luck treacle! Just imagine then all as penis's dragons, that should bring a smile to your face Wink

Nordicmom · 26/06/2014 17:11

A bit off topic but I do have to say that it was being put on steroids for my miscarriages by a well known miscarriage specialist that caused me to develop secondary adrenal insufficiency and ruined my health for life . This treatment is coming more common and used by many doctors but I'd think very carefully before doing it and would give anything to go back and not take the steroids . I can't believe the drugs are doled out to desperate people like me without proper warning of the risks . I wouldn't have ever done if I'd know about the chances of this happening and wish I'd research it more but trusted my doctor . Well never again my belief is gone forever and now read about things a lot myself and not just listen to the supposed experts . I actually had to diagnose myself with this illness my Gp and others were useless had to research it myself and get referrals to various specialist out of which an endocrinologist then proved my theory correct. Paying the price now forever .
Sorry to rant but my blood boils whenever steroids are mentioned with miscarriages :(... They do work for some but there can be a horrible price to pay

MrsExtraOrdinary · 26/06/2014 17:20

Nordic you have my entire sympathy, you really do. You've been through so very much already. It is crucial to look at all the evidence of course, but in desperation a lot of women I believe would probably take the chance of the consequences in chance it might help them.

My brother is now 28, but he was born at 28 weeks. In those days he could still have legally been aborted. Fortunately he was born in st.thomas's London, who had a superb special care baby unit. As a teaching hospital and after 6 wks of awful sickness, brain bleeds, weight loss, lung and bowel disease, my parents were offered a chance to put him on a drug trial. They were beside themselves and agreed. He got the drug, which turned out to be steroids and 3 days later he was out of oxygen. Sometimes we all take a risk and hope for the greater good. It's just awfully unlucky and sad that it didn't work out for you Nordic. I'm so sorry.

But you are completely right to be and with all the information.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 26/06/2014 17:22

That should read *armed with all the information.

KittyVonCatsington · 26/06/2014 18:10

Hi Nordic. In this paper, it is the doctor Choccy is seeing who found the medical reason why some women respond to steroids and who do not after recurrent miscarriages and devised a test that would tell them if they would benefit or not from treatment. I think they call it the NK cell or something and was published last September. That's why it was a breakthrough-to prevent tragedies like yours. so sorry it appears to have cone too late for you xxx

Nordicmom · 26/06/2014 18:18

I think definitely use drugs like these in bigger doses like they did with me only when absolutely necessary like with your brother . I think with the miscarriage treatment i wasn't given enough information I didn't know anything of the risks and I wasn't even proven to have high levels of the natural killer cells which is what the steroids are used for but he put me on them anyway since he couldn't think of anything else . I must not be he only person left with a chronic possibly life threatening illness due to careless treatment we paid thousands for on top of everything . I would have definitely gone for surrogacy or something else sooner and not risked my health . I doubt there are many people that would trade their health for life for being able to carry a second child like me instead maybe going about it a different way . I don't feel Dd is any less my child than DS even though I couldn't do the pregnancy part my self . She's still my flesh and blood just came here in a different way than DS :). The thing about this illness is that the treatment isn't that effective and I never feel remotely well for one minute . I wish there was a magic pill ,maybe one day there will be ...

Nordicmom · 26/06/2014 18:22

It's the natural killer cells they were trying to treat me for with the steroids yes . Had testing first and no high levels were found but since they weren't yet able to necessarily find all the different type ones my doctor recommended the treatment as a last chance thing anyway and I trusted him . He's a well known private specialist one of the first ones to start using this treatment in the uk . He comes up in threads all the time and has published papers etc .

Nordicmom · 26/06/2014 18:23

MrsEx I'm so sorry about your health problems ! Sounds really bad :(! I hope you'll recover soon .

Nordicmom · 26/06/2014 18:29

Btw even if the treatment works on the high natural killer cell levels and you are then able to carry your baby to term you can still end up with my illness since the steroids can stop the normal adrenal function for anybody . I didn't know this I wish I did .

cinnamongreyhound · 26/06/2014 18:30

Sorry to hear your situation Nordicmom.

I am very forunate to have never had a mc and really haven't read anything about it. It breaks my heart every time I hear of anyone having one, I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child. My mil had 2 between her dd and my dh and another 2 after him, when she was then advised not to risk her health further and be happy with her 2 dc.

I hope you don't mind me butting into this serious discussion with my symptom spotting. I get very lightheaded (due to low bp) around the time I ovulate normally, am now 10dpo and have had 5 spells today which doesn't happen at this point of my cycle at all normally. Trying not to get my hopes up and think that actually it's because I ran this morning, it's very warm here and I've been out and about most of the day so probably haven't edrunk as much as I should! I never ever want a Monday to come but really want this one to!!

Nordicmom · 26/06/2014 18:41

That's all right cinnamon . Better to move on from the depressing topic anyway I just get so angry and always will about this . I'll try to cheer up now. Funny dd 2 y is here to distract me :)! I'm really emotional now and hormonal this ttc is driving crazy like everyone ...
