A thread for anyone TTC with a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor!

Morning ladies!! I was hunting around for a recent thread for anyone TTC with a CBFM but couldn't find any - please let me know if one is ongoing that I didn't find!! But otherwise I wanted a place to share experiences with other ladies using this rather interesting gadget. It makes big claims for success!!

About me - I'm TTC baby #1, cycle #3, expecting AF or BFP on 2-12 June.

I'm still having slightly long cycles after stopping the pill - this is my first cycle using the monitor properly, because my last cycle went on for 40 days, and the machine got bored and stopped asking for sticks after 25 days!!

I'm currently on CD09 and had my first day of a high reading today, although I know the machine gives out high readings like they're going out of fashion so not reading much into that! Will be kicking off the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan!) from today though anyway just to be sure.

Thanks april I saw the basic tests were going for £40-50 plus postage so I offered her £60 to delist it and let me have it and she took it. Very pleased!!

Hi everyone, i recently got my clear blue fertility monitor, i don't think i can use it as i am on day eight of my cycle and only got the monitor today, i have read the instructions online as a friend of mine gave me her monitor , i got a right result as its never been used, she fell pregnant before she used it, so she gave it to me, i am going to wait till my next period till i use it and i was getting familiar with it but i am not sure how to set the time on when to use it, i can set it for the 1st day of my period but not the window for when i need to test, i am probably being really thick, thanks in advance for your help

Hi Angelaham like you I got my monitor after day 6 of my cycle so had to wait to use it which was really annoying.
When you press the m button on the first day of your cycle you need to do this around the time you would usually test with your fmu - eg, I set mine at 7.20 am which means that I can test anytime between 4.20am and 10.20 am as you get a 6 hour window. To be honest, most of the time when I test I wake in the night to use the loo and want to go straight back to sleep so I collect some fmu in a container and test with that when I wake up properly (within the window)
If AF arrives in the afternoon/evening you can set it the following day as day 1. Hope that helps. It is all a bit confusing the first month. Hopefully you don't have to use it Smile

Thanks for the welcomes guys. This is our last ditch of trying non medical interventions, we've been trying so long and had miscarriages along the way we are praying this will be money well spent

Good luck ladies. More than sorry to hear about the mc I've had 4 and 1 chemical and now it's taking ages to concieve again.
Well month 3 of monitor day 6 and got low here we go again!

Hopefully it is still too early Guineapig I am really annoyed because I ordered another pack of sticks from Amazon and they have not arrived. Contacted the seller and they said I have to wait until 15 July until they will send out a replacement and if AF arrives I may need them before the replacements would turn up so looks like I am going to have to pay out for another set not- boo. This TTC business is expensive.

Argh what a nightmare April. I ordered mine from Amazon too...hope they turn up. Did pop into boots but they were £49.99!!!

Aw no I did that I bought them from boots to make sure I had them, luckily mine turned up from amazon so I took them back!

OMG - how do Boots get away with charging that much for them?? That would be a lot of advantage points! I had thought I would do that as a back up plan but planning to order from Amazon as soon as AF turns up and get them on the quick delivery option.

Because it's boots and they can!! I think they Are the only place to sell them on the high street. The quick delivery option can work out just as expensive as if you got them in boots so be careful x

Thanks Mel Smile, I have ordered some today just in case. AF is due any day from today but will be more like Sunday if last cycle is anything to go by. Sticks should make it in time unless these ones go AWOL too!

Hi all, can I join? TTC#1 since xmas and bloody fed up! ! Probably obsessing too much which doesn't help Smile

Bought the advanced cbfm this month but arrived too late to start so au natural until next cycle. In the meantime I have a few questions-where should I buy my peesticks? And do I use fmu?

Chundercats, I buy mine off Amazon and yes use first morning urine - good luck Smile I had to wait a month to use mine too, it's is so annoying when that happens.

Morethan - you can start using the monitor up to day 6 of your cycle so plenty of time Smile

AF hasn't come to anything today just some old blood and nothing - normally I flood from day 1 Hmm we completely missed mid cycle this month (cd20 on a 25 day cycle!) so I think my body is just being mean to me!

It could be implantation bleeding? Maybe you ovulated later or earlier than you thought and got lucky Smile

Ok...onto day 8 now and all low so far.....my persona monitor used to give me the egg symbol at day 9! So something is DEFO different with me or the monitors.

I didn't get a high until day 16 Cazzacol and then only got highs before it went to low again...in the first cycle it is getting to know you so try not to worry - fx you get a high soon.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. AF arrived properly today so I guess it's day 1 today.

I'm pissed off with the eBay seller as she's marked it as posted on 7th 1st class recorded estimated delivery of the 9th and I just have this feeling she's taken my money and run
