A thread for anyone TTC with a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor!

Morning ladies!! I was hunting around for a recent thread for anyone TTC with a CBFM but couldn't find any - please let me know if one is ongoing that I didn't find!! But otherwise I wanted a place to share experiences with other ladies using this rather interesting gadget. It makes big claims for success!!

About me - I'm TTC baby #1, cycle #3, expecting AF or BFP on 2-12 June.

I'm still having slightly long cycles after stopping the pill - this is my first cycle using the monitor properly, because my last cycle went on for 40 days, and the machine got bored and stopped asking for sticks after 25 days!!

I'm currently on CD09 and had my first day of a high reading today, although I know the machine gives out high readings like they're going out of fashion so not reading much into that! Will be kicking off the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan!) from today though anyway just to be sure.

Hi guys i got a peak the other day out of the blue and another today totally overjoyed and i had cm too so we dtd like crazy yesterday and today but just wondering why peak turned up out of nowhere has anyone else gone from low straight to peak ?? im using agnus castus which made me ovulate for the first time but didnt expect to peak so suddenly im now on tww with strict dtd till it goes back to low lol

Great news Tea! I'm sure I've read about some cycles going low to peak. Can't imagine its a problem...surely the most important thing is the "peak". Maybe you had a super fast "surge" of whatever if is that causes a peak

I missed highs before so at least you've got your peak :)

I started testing on CD9 and it should ask me for 4 more tests before stopping !! So glad this month it has all clicked into place !! Been using it just over a month and last month it didnt detect ovulation at all i fully recommend the Agnus Castus 1000mg 2 every 2 days worked wonders for me you take them from CD1 till OV occurs if anyone is wanting to try it although they stink and taste rotten

got another low today so 3 more tests and i'm done it feels strange doing just 10 tests last month i used a whole box of them

Me too! I didn't use that many sticks I stopped after first low! Could do with saving a bit of cash!

least using 10 sticks one box lasts us 2 months instead of one OH is pleased it saves him money too.

Back to low again today for me so no more sticks this month. Trying to keep busy during the tww now, AF due on 10th. Got a fairly busy week in work and then meeting an old friend for lunch next weekend. I so want to hold off till the 10th to test but have absolutely no will power. If I make it to 8th I will have done well... Trouble is the monitor refill packs have pregnancy tests in them and I think of it as a "free" test!!!

Heres my story; On pill for 17 years, married for 12 years and FINALLY feel ready for a baby. Stopped pill Nov 13, cycles returned to 'normal' Jan 14 and have a 27/28 day cycle. No baby yet, but I am impatient and want a baby NON. I am 32, 33 in Aug and DH is 43.

I got myself an advaance CBFM last week, Period due on thursday. Of course I am hoping I won't get to use it......but doubt that very much!

so, can I join? can I? can I?

i have to wait till 16th to test think ill cave on the 13 or 14th though i have FRER and 3-4 Clearblue earlies and an internet cheapie stick which tests 4 days early it will be a POAS party for me eeek even if i get BFN i KNOW i can OV now so im happy to take my agnus castus and twiddle my thumbs waiting

Of course you can Cazcol i recently turned 33 and have been trying since January, becoming increasingly impatient.
So much for a weekend peak...CD20 today and still getting highs!
So that's a few BFP's due in the next week or so, fx ladies. Mel have you been tempted to test yet?

Feel like I am getting my period tonight, tired, boobs hurt and all I can think about is chocolate! Another month gone, but kinda excited asi can start my CBFM this week.

Welcome Caz, hope you won't need to use the monitor but if you do there's plenty of us on here to answer any queries. Although it hasn't worked yet, I feel strangely more calm about ttc with the monitor! Bizarre!

Soo, CD21 and still only getting High readings, tbh don't think I will get a peak this cycle now. I have read about the monitor missing peaks on the first cycle as it gets used to you and my GP said that on average ovulation doesn't occur twice a year so not feeling too put out either way.
Fx for some BFP news soon.

I tested mon on frer neg and neg on monitor too so stopped meds. Then silly me I looked again yesterday and when held to light their was a faint line, quickly started meds again just in case but today still a neg even when held to light. I know I shouldn't of held it to light as that's prob an evap so wasn't holding hopes high. Looks like af is on way now anyway argh!!! April my first month was like that, onto cycle 3!

Sorry it's still a bfn Mel. I had an evap last month, got ridiculously excited before I realised!
CD23 and still High - only have two sticks left now. I have been checking my temps from Tuesday morning and they have been as high as my post ov temps in previous cycles - who knows though. I will just have to wait and see.

Oh dear, sorry to hear that Mel. When I get a definite bfn I normally indulge in everything I wouldn't have been able to if I'd had a bfp, so wine, pate, Brie, baileys coffee, rare steak and prawns. Basically, I do a supermarket sweep of m&s food hall on my way home. DH can tell just by looking in the fridge! I know it sounds daft and but it lets me wallow and look at the next cycle as a new start.

CD 21/22 here ( depending if you go on my dates or the monitors). No symptoms at all. Am talking myself out of testing with an internet cheapie tomorrow at 7dpo. I really need to get a grip

Bfn for me today too . CD25 and 9dpo so logically I know it is a bit early but am pretty sure I'm out this month as I can sense AF on her way - horrendous pmt and just feel exactly as I usually do at this time of the month.

Am soooo fed up of this ttc malarkey but onwards to the next cycle, there's not much else to do! Did contemplate having a bit of a break from ttc till the end of the summer but knew I would then be kicking myself for those two or three "wasted" cycles... However I have decided to try to stop living in a hypothetical what if I'm pregnant world. I have a tendency to do this which doesn't help so I've given myself a proper talking to and this morning have dusted off my trainers and done a 5k run. If nothing else it has tired me out! Also planning a short haul city break for September. Something to look forward to and even if I am pregnant we can still go. and I've also been obsessively googling charting and ordered a thermometer which is completely daft as I have been pinpointing ovulation reasonably accurately with the monitor and opks

Argh... Rant over, and thank you to anyone who has managed to bear with me whilst I ever off topic, I realise we are supposed to be discussing the monitor here

How much does it cost
How much are the sticks
What do your husbands think of it?

Well I've just bought one off eBay came with a whole load of sticks and pg tests and clearly someone as mad as me had over bought when TTC!

So, roll on AF and let's see where I've been going wrong!

Well done for getting one with stick and tests too off Ebay Morethan. I got mine on Amazon and it wasn't cheap. My husband and I had agreed that if we hadn't conceived within 6 months we would get the monitor- he thinks it is a really good idea and read the instruction booklet back to front.
I am on CD27, after 9 highs I got a low on CD25 and then finally it stopped asking for tests. I would be due on Wednesday ordinarily but due to my cycles lengthening since TTC anytime from Fri-Sunday be more likely. Trying not too hold out too much hope but it is hard.
Guineapig any news today? AF and pregnancy symptoms are so similar you never know....
