Morning ladies!! I was hunting around for a recent thread for anyone TTC with a CBFM but couldn't find any - please let me know if one is ongoing that I didn't find!! But otherwise I wanted a place to share experiences with other ladies using this rather interesting gadget. It makes big claims for success!!

About me - I'm TTC baby #1, cycle #3, expecting AF or BFP on 2-12 June.

I'm still having slightly long cycles after stopping the pill - this is my first cycle using the monitor properly, because my last cycle went on for 40 days, and the machine got bored and stopped asking for sticks after 25 days!!

I'm currently on CD09 and had my first day of a high reading today, although I know the machine gives out high readings like they're going out of fashion so not reading much into that! Will be kicking off the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan!) from today though anyway just to be sure.

Would love to hear from you!! Smile

Hi there, new to this thread. Am having ICI treatment due to husband losing fertility from cancer treatment. First month with clearblue advanced monitor got a high on day 8, peak days 9&10 high day 11 then low. But tested with an opk on day 11, 5pm with the most positive result ever. Went in to be scanned and have inseminarion done at 930 yesterday morning which they were reluctant to do as they could see I'd already ov'd and they like to do it pre ov. I have a 27-29 day cycle so days 9&10 seem very early...

My question is... Is it normal on the first month to get wierd clearblue reading as it gets to know you? My theory is that I get higher than av LH surge early on so cb recorded this as my peak -,as it's naturally programmed to only give 2 peaks followed by a high then low, could it have missed it?

Stuck in the 2ww now - any advice to take my brain off it gratefully received!

guineapig1 · 10/06/2014 07:14

Ah Ladies, looks like I'm out this month too... tested on the monitor this morning (3 days early) and bfn! I know it's not all over quite yet but am not hopeful... Hey ho, back to it next month. Will be interesting to see whether the monitor peaks at the same time next month.

Mel3062 · 10/06/2014 07:15

Yes it's normal for it to get to know you the first month, my first month last month showed no peak at all though other opks did! All the best to you fingers crossed you've caught it x

Mel3062 · 10/06/2014 07:16

Aw guinea pig fingers crossed for you. Yes this month will be interesting!

guineapig1 · 10/06/2014 07:16

Marymaymay, I wonder that too. This month was my first using the monitor, I got highs from 9-14 and peaks 15 and 16, but loads of ewcm on 17 and 18. I wondered if my "surge" just took place a bit earlier before ov. than for others. Does anyone else have any experience of this?

MrsPoppet · 10/06/2014 14:40

Hello - I am new to this thread :) it has been so interesting reading your experiences of the CBFM, good luck to everyone! I am 27, ttc #1. I have been off the pill for over a year and no luck yet so we are going to take it a bit more seriously, in terms of when in the month to DTD. I also have irregular cycles (last was 40 days, the one before was 34) so have probably been completely missing the peak time. Anyway the upshot is I have applied for the Clearblue Clinical Trial - sent the form off, will wait to hear if I am suitable for it. Otherwise I will buy one - are you all finding them useful do you think? Thanks

blankfornames · 10/06/2014 14:59

Welcome Mrs Poppet! I generally don't have symptoms when I ov so I found it handy to know when exactly it was happening. This is my first month using it so I'll find out on Friday how much I like the device!! Though I cried the whole way though One Born Every Minute last night so I reckon AF is on her way.
Sorry Guinea Pig, but I wouldn't be counting yourself out of the game just yet. 3 days is still early to test!

Marymaymay · 10/06/2014 20:01

Thanks Mel and guinea, 2ww begins :)

MrsPoppet · 10/06/2014 21:26

Thanks blankfornames, I think it will be handy for that too. Fingers crossed for you! x

Teaandtoast1 · 10/06/2014 22:47

Hello Mrs Poppet. What's the clear blue clinical trial? Thanks. X

Aprilray · 11/06/2014 10:12

Morning ladies,
I popped into this thread near the beginning, I had ordered my CBFM but by the time the machine and sticks turned up it was too late to use it last cycle. AF arrived this morning so glad to see the thread is still going strong. I programmed my monitor this morning so first test is due on Monday - will be interesting to see if I get peaks when I think I have been ovulating.
FX for you Guineapig three days is early, you may not have enough of the pregnancy hormone in your system to show up.

guineapig1 · 12/06/2014 19:08

As suspected, AF caught up with me this afternoon... So on to month 2 with the monitor! WineTonight I think...

blankfornames · 13/06/2014 07:47

Happy Friday 13th..not unlucky for me, I got my BFP this morning after using monitor for one cycle! Hope more of you have good luck with it!Grin

Superworm · 13/06/2014 09:48

Congratulation blank Smile

What a lovely start to the day!

ChristinaYang · 13/06/2014 12:26

Hi All!

Hope you don't mind me joining! I conceived my DS on the first cycle using CBFM last year and now we're trying for #2. Onto my second month, the monitor seems to pick up my peaks ok on the first month which is a good thing.

Last month peak on CD16, this month peak on CD12. Currently on 3DPO so will keep you guys updated.

I also don't feed the monitor anymore sticks after the first peak, there's no point, it'll always go - peak, peak, high, low. I even keep a stick and put that in, instead of a new one.

ChristinaYang · 13/06/2014 12:27

Oh and Congratulations blank - 13, lucky for some Grin

Siarie · 13/06/2014 12:39

I'm sure this has been asked before, but is the CB fertility monitor really better than just the cheap OPK test? Also would you buy the advanced version or the older version?

blankfornames · 13/06/2014 13:24

Hi Sairie, it worked for me on cycle one! I have the basic model. I loved the fact that it thinks for you & tells you when you're high/peaking. G'luck with it

Aprilray · 13/06/2014 13:41

Great to hear the CBFM success stories! Congratulations Blankfornames
Sairie I'm just about to start using my CBFM and have the basic model too. I didn't get on with OPKs as you have to do them between 12-8 and not go to the loo/reduce fluid intake for 4 hours before doing them. Was too much hassle, much prefer the idea of using fmu with the CBFM and getting a definite 'peak' rather than trying to decifer how dark a line is on an OPK.

guineapig1 · 13/06/2014 18:26

Lovely news blank - congratulations!! Hoping for more success stories this month ladies!

guineapig1 · 13/06/2014 21:56

Blank, just one quick question ( and I realise this is a very personal question and of course don't answer if you don't feel comfortable) but did you happen to jot down when you dtd in proximity to your highs/ peaks? I (and I'm sure others ) would be interested to know. Hope more of us can follow your excellent example next month Smile

blankfornames · 14/06/2014 06:22

Thanks Guineapig & Aprilray. Best of luck with these cycles.
Of course I don't mind answering your question. Anything I can do to help. I got a high from cd10to cd 14, peaked cd15/16. Then had one more high cd17 and back to lows. We dtd, each day from cd10 to cd16, but were too tired to do it after that! It stopped asking me for sticks from cd16. We dtd once a day between those days. Good luck to you all. This thread has been really informative so I'm be waiting around till I see lots more bfps!

Mel3062 · 14/06/2014 09:25

Aw congrats on the bfps! Got high today day 8 so here we go again!!
I try Dtd every other day from about day 7 then when get positive a few days in a row then used to stop about day 18 but paranoid I miss it so trying to extend it abit longer. It's hard work!

Mel3062 · 14/06/2014 09:26

Gosh blank 6 days in a row! My hubby struggles at 3!

ClaireF2013 · 14/06/2014 15:50

Hello ladies :) I have just ordered a Clear Blue Advanced Fertility Monitor and 2 months worth of sticks. I am in the middle of my first two week wait now, but I do have irregular periods, so wanted the monitor for a better idea of when I am most fertile. My conundrum is this: I work shifts, and hadn't even thought about it, but my "early morning" urine will often actually be in the evening (when I work nights). Is this monitor going to actually work for me!?! Are there any other shift workers that have successfully used it?
