Hey guys, hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Sorry about your bfn Popple but it's still early so don't give up :)
we didn't dtd the whole weekend in the end. Dh was pretty stressed so I was trying to be nice and not make him feel any pressure. So pretty sure I'm out now :( only hope is the little swimmers from earlier in the week being strong (clutching at straws)
Hopefully next month will be better - not going to tell dh when ovulating or anything this time!

Aw no ducky! I'm sure it is morning sickness, you said you secretly wanted it back and here it is!

Thanks for the welcome! :) I came off the pill in February last year but we only started TTC in August. We aren't able to try as much as we'd like every month as DP works off shore so is away quite a lot (always at the right time typically!)
Approximately what cd should I start using opks? I have never used them before but thought I would try and work out ideal days so I can try and get DP to book time off work! :-)
hope you are all having a fab weekend

Hibou7688 · 04/05/2014 13:26

I feel so nauseous/burpy and achey today. Never get sick unless hungover. Poas yesterday (10 dpo) and got bfn, but af not due til Fri so I guess there is still a glimmer of hope!

Hibou7688 · 04/05/2014 13:28

Bradders when to use opks depends on how long your cycle is, I have a long cycle and struggled for ages to pinpoint ov, but I found if i counted backwards 14 days from my period, it was more successfully than counting forward.

So I have 38/39 day cycles and I ov on cd22(ish!!)

bradders85 · 04/05/2014 13:31

ooh thanks for that Hibou, after 2 dodgy cycles a couple of months ago I usually have 28 day cycles so hoping it sticks to a regular pattern!

Bugaboom · 04/05/2014 14:01

More than a glimmer Hibou, most tests aren't that sensitive until day AF due. Good luck Smile

Ducky23 · 04/05/2014 14:47

We are hpt and opk experts hereBlush!

With the opks I was unsure due to irregular cycles so I did them twice a day from day AF stopped. Make sure you do them twice a day as your surge could be pretty short. If you are regular then there should be chart with the opks telling you what day to start or you can google it Grin

bradders85 · 04/05/2014 14:55

Thanks Ducky - I've ordered them so hopefully they will arrive on Tuesday and I can start using them whilst DP is away!

Cupcake92 · 04/05/2014 15:27

What a day I've had -_-
Used 'headrin' it's a 15 min solution but was a nightmare to wash out butttttttt went through with nitty gritty comb and I think they have gone!!! Good news is I'm nit free as I never caught them off him! Woo!
But I've had an awful time at FAther in laws house, bitchin out the mother in law (they are divorced and have remarried other people) they were saying awful things about her and she's actually the nicest person ever! So I got up and left with DS !

Keep trying with those opks and hpts girls :) good luck

Ducky23 · 04/05/2014 15:36

Well done on the nit busting cupcake!!! Grin

And for walking out of fil's house!! What does DH think of that?

lillamyy1 · 04/05/2014 18:27

Grin at walking out cupcake!
Hi Bradders!

Cupcake92 · 04/05/2014 19:23

He asked why I did it, and when I was explaining how I didn't like how they were talking about her, he changed the subject !!
He's not mentioned anything since.
Men are strange creatures haha

Cupcake92 · 04/05/2014 19:24

I still can't believe my 9 month old got nits haha!!!

Popple85 · 04/05/2014 21:49

Glad the nits are gone! I've only had them once and it was horrible...

Thanks for your responses everyone- although I haven't entirely given up hope this month I just have a feeling I'll be out soon. Am determined to stay optimistic as the TTC journey could take awhile and I don't want it to make me miserable! Had an amazing day at Legoland, weather was perfect and we had so much fun. Instead of dwelling on a bfn I just kept getting about the thought of one day taking my child there!

Hope everyone is feeling well and good this eve- and Ducky I hope you're feeling better Smile

Popple85 · 04/05/2014 21:49

*getting excited about

Cupcake92 · 05/05/2014 04:55

Glad u had a good time popple!
:)
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for that bfp of urs.

kitkatkaty87 · 05/05/2014 11:10

Good plan Popple. I'm going to try and forget about the 2 ww and just keep myself busy doing house and garden stuff. Not going to test until 17th May:)
Right, off to homebase :) enjoy the sunshine all

OP posts:
Popple85 · 05/05/2014 14:28

AF just arrived. Argh.

Very short cycle this month (23 days instead of the usual 25) so the good news is I'm still in the May club as next BFP is due right at the end of the month!

Trying not to feel too blue but might wallow for a hour or so.

Cupcake92 · 05/05/2014 15:42

Aw sorry to hear that popple! :(
Hope next months ur month!
I've not ovulated yet I feel kinda nervous as I rele want to catch the egg this time round!
Scared I'll miss it as we have so much going on next 2 weeks, moving and DS's christening and not to mention DS is being a nightmare haha!

LuluJakey1 · 05/05/2014 16:11

Is it OK to join? Or am I not in the right place? Have made the decision today to start TTC . No DCs. DH has been very keen for months now and I came off the pill at Xmas. Then my mum died and we have been using condoms- or not because we are a bit hopeless with them. Anyway- we are off on the journey. Both 34. No idea about the subtleties of it- best times, how often etc- so are just going to enjoy DTD for now and see what happens. He is much more excited than I am, I feel a bit confused ; not sure why. Confused Is that normal?

Popple85 · 05/05/2014 17:10

Hi Lulu! Welcome to the group Smile

TTC is a massive decision and sounds like you've been through a lot lately- you're bound to feel a bit confused. However we'll be here with lots of support and advice if you need it so pull up a chair and join us!

And thanks cupcake- good luck with all the christening planning!

Ducky23 · 05/05/2014 17:21

Sorry Popple Hmm

Cupcake you sound like your going to be very busy!!! Are you testing twice a day?

Hi lulu! Sounds like you have had a rough time recently Hmm good luck for TTC Smile

LuluJakey1 · 05/05/2014 18:51

Thanks Popple. Think AF due in 10 days - but never keep count. DH being soppy and romantic today. I think he thinks it is likely to just happen now we are officially TTC. Wonder how long the romantic phase lasts before we are counting days and doing things with sticks and wee and mucus and he has to perform to order. Will he be as up to it/ up for it then? Wink

LuluJakey1 · 05/05/2014 18:54

Thank you Ducky . We are both nearly 35 and it is feeling like we'd better get a move on!
