The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Hello again...as a newbie to all this I'm very confused. My most recent period (first since MC) started on 7th May.

Yesterday I got a bit of mucusy discharge which is what I normally associate with when I assume I'm ovulating, though I've never done a test before (never needed to till now). Used a calculator online and my most fertile time should be this week, based on when AF started.

Managed to get some ovulation tests today, and they came back negative. So I've already ovulated yesterday and it's already too late? Isn't the egg still hanging around waiting or has it already gone past its best? (In a nutshell, is it worth DH and I doing the deed tonight or not?...after a stressful day I am quite ready to have an early night, either way, but have a lot of other stuff to get done before bedtime so would be good to know if it's really worth my while chasing DH up to bed or not....!)

MrsGingerbread · 21/05/2014 20:07

Thank you for the warm welcome. :)

Carly that looks positive to me!

I've been advised to wait for bleeding to finish and then wait a 'clear' cycle before ttc again. Is this for medical reasons or for dating a pregnancy? I think taking the time sounds like a good idea (feeling emotionally and physically drained) -I'm just wondering what the risks were if we were to fall pregnant this month.

tannyLoo · 21/05/2014 20:59

Carly I'd hang on if I were you, it doesn't look quite as dark as the control line, and then get in your every nighters from tomorrow. My gut says you'll peak tomorrow on OPK, so ov on Friday. Or you can go for a ball breaker and just get in some TITH every night for four nights!

My OPK is coming up too, so I'll probably be oving with you on Friday. No gravy still for me, but will be making my apt with Prof Q. Fun times.

Broody Yay and yay!

Marsh it sounds promising if you have a 28 day cycle, but you'd definitely have to jump on tonight, as you might have ov'ed today. And then for the next few nights! Lots of us have had success with the SMEP method (sperm meets egg) which is worth a google. Knackering but gets results.

Ginger there's no reason not to crack on if you're feeling up to it. I've had a whole load of MCs close together, and have been on an enforced break to have testing and acupuncture. I think it's been good for me to stop for a while, but everyone is different, so do what feels right to you, and if you do get upduffed, you'll have a reason for an early dating scan!

Gail and Office roll on Friday! Both of you sound promising!

Carly6971 · 21/05/2014 21:10

Thanks tanny have done the deed this evening will keep going but prob have to miss a day over the weekend as at my folks n the beds tooooooo squeaky (seems to be a pattern with me oving when with my bloody parents!) x

TallGiraffe · 21/05/2014 21:31

Carly - time to get imaginative with your locations then! Grin

marshmallowpies · 21/05/2014 22:35

Thanks for the tips tanny...I'm totally clueless about all these acronyms & techniques but have always relied on knowing what my body was doing...I noticed the mucous yesterday, and the night before I had, um, a bit of a sexy dream, which always seems to happen about this time of the month.

So am a bit worried my most fertile time was yesterday or the night before...? Or do those things happen just beforehand to prompt you to take action?

tannyLoo · 21/05/2014 23:02

Marsh it's worth taking a look at tutorials on fertility friend, they're really useful to start spotting your own signs. My egg white mucus appears a few days before I ov and then dries up when I ov. Your fertile window is from about 4 days pre ov to 2 after, so if you've just oved you're still in with a shot.

If not this month, do some research, pull up a chair and become as obsessed wise as the rest of us!

Justonemoretime · 22/05/2014 06:23

Gah! I've given up on fertility friend, I think I've told it something at some point that's skewing my data as it always tries to put predicted ov at cd9, which is rubbish. Then when I add other ov signs data is just stops predicting anything at all. I'm going to just do what my body tells me and DTD when we both feel like it. A watched pop never boils, and all that...Hmm

At my follow up scan last Tuesday they said they could see a follicle ready to ovulate in the next few days (up to 10 she said to be safe) but I didn't use any OPKs as I was trying to be relaxed this cycle who am I kidding Anyway, last night when I wiped there was the tiniest amount of pink and some mucus, this morning about the same but brown (TMI sorry). Of course I've now convinced myself it could be implantation bleeding (which I've never had before). Come tell me I'm nuts...

officelady · 22/05/2014 07:01

Haha Giraffe I'm with you! Had a tiny amount of spotting a couple of days ago and now clinging onto the hope that it might be implantation. With my logical head on this is very very unlikely.
Roll on tomorrow when I can POAS just so I can rule it out. Although technically it's probably going to be too early to show a BFP anyway [hmmm]

TallGiraffe · 22/05/2014 07:13

Glad it's not just me office! Good luck with testing tomorrow but I don't think if it's negative you can rule it out - it might be too early.

GailLondon · 22/05/2014 08:16

Morning everyone! CD29 here and no sign of AF..eek! Got my FRER ready to go tomorrow morning

Last time I got PG I had implantation bleeding! One drop or 2 of blood on the tissue at 9dpo ish. So i'm feeling hopeful for you Giraffe and Office! how many dpo are you both?

TallGiraffe · 22/05/2014 08:49

How long are your cycles normally Gail? Good luck with testing tomorrow!

I'm guessing I ovulated about a week ago, but don't know exactly just a hunch.

GailLondon · 22/05/2014 09:02

They've been bang on 29 days recently, normally with light spotting on day 28....nothing so far...

Littlelady33 · 22/05/2014 11:35

Looking forward to some good news tomorrow ladies I have a feeling in my bones that we're headed for at least one more BFP before the month is out. Anyone else find AF pains approx 1000 times worse post mc?? I'm dosed up on just about everything but it's not cutting through. So glad to have things working at all that I don't even mind that much but still... Ow.

Daisybell1 · 22/05/2014 13:42

Hello all, is anyone here any good at interpreting blood test results? I had a while load done last week and can't get a consultants opinion on them for a while. Does anyone fancy a look and to give a view?

FlorenceandZebedee · 22/05/2014 13:48

Happy Thursday ladies, lets hope that Friday brings lots of good news and BFPs!

Is there anyone on the thread who has a b12 deficiency and do you know if this can affect fertility/contribute to miscarriage?
On Mon I had the 21 day tests and hormone levels came back as normal but my doctors rang to say that I needed a repeat of blood count and b12 tests (the receptionist could only say that this was because the levels could be higher/lower than the norm so needed re-checking asap.) Anyway, true to form, as a conception obsessive, I started to look into b12 and the general symptoms of deficiency do seem to apply to me- tiredness etc (and can be masked by people assuming you're 'just' anaemic- which I have been for a long time.) I also looked at whether or not it is linked to miscarriage. I've found info with evidence that it may or may not!! does anyone else have any experience of this ? Anything that helps the conception/sticky bean cause is worth a shot!

Daisybell1 · 22/05/2014 13:57

Florence - b 12 deficiency is one that came back on my results, but they didn't do a full blood count so said i need that. Some of my friends swear by b 12 vits for ttc-ing. This isn't much help I'm afraid, sorry!

FlorenceandZebedee · 22/05/2014 14:05

Are you having the dull blood count tests then? I think that's what I'm going for (receptionist at doctors was lovely but not completely knowledgeable Smile) Thank you for replying though, think I'll start some b12 vits regardless of test outcomes.

Daisybell1 · 22/05/2014 14:13

I've got to have the full count done, yes, before they'll say if I'm b 12 deficient too. Have they checked your vit d- mine was through the floor so have just started supplements for that.

FlorenceandZebedee · 22/05/2014 14:14

I meant full blood count not dull blood count- although they may be dull!!

FlorenceandZebedee · 22/05/2014 15:03

I will see if I can get that checked too, thank you

Carly6971 · 22/05/2014 18:31

Ladies on infinite wisdom...sooooo...after my (fairly) positive opk yesterday and a solid smiley digi, today my ic opk is dead faint, yet got a peak on my cbfm and another solid smiley on cb digi (I know I use to many opks lol). So my question is...am I ov'ing? Have I ov'd or am I still due to? Argh so stressed n confused! Ov pains have been way less than yesterday today too.

Can't wait to hear some good news tomorrow am :) fingers crossed for u girls x

Sighing · 22/05/2014 20:22

I am planning to be tested for B12 too. I have a very dodgy system after my gall bladder was removed.
My Dr. Seemed a bit 'it's a fad' though.

I had a boody fantastic day today. The crazy emotions seem a bit less drastic for now.

I suspect EWCM today .... Is that likely?? I'd be almost at my cd12 .... It seems wrong. I'm expecting to be off for weeks.
