The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Morning I have a feeling I am probably the only one up yet ! Woke this morning to test and couldn't find my first response test anywhere. So after tearing the house apart looking for it whilst desperately needing a wee I decided just to use a clear blue digital one even though they are not really for early testing and I got a positive. It says Pregnant 1-2 weeks.
Feeling happy but anxious as well.

Anyone else testing this morning?
Broody - did you get any answers yesterday? Hope you are ok

EnglishGirlAbroad · 16/05/2014 06:33

Congratulations Ellis! That's amazing news!!! GrinGrin

I on the other hand fear I'm heading for mc #2, pink discharge this morning. This is how the first started. Got a drs appointment on Tuesday anyway so hopefully by then I'll know more.

Ellisisland · 16/05/2014 06:35

Oh English I am so sorry! Have you got an EPU near you?
I mc at 11 weeks last time so until I have gone past that point I am not getting my hopes up.

Littlelady33 · 16/05/2014 06:59

Ellis I'm so thrilled for you I did have a feeling this might be your month! English I'm sorry - anywhere you can go to get checked out there?

EnglishGirlAbroad · 16/05/2014 07:02

Nope, today we're moving from holland back home so bit stuck really. I know at this point there's not a lot they can do so will wait it out til Tuesday and hopefully gp will refer me then. Sad
Never made it to 6 weeks.

tannyLoo · 16/05/2014 07:18

Ellis very good news. Well done!

English poor you! Let's remember that many women have early bleeding, but like you, mine is always doom laden. And today sounds stressful anyway. Thinking of you and hoping it's just some pink. ((hugs))

broodylicious · 16/05/2014 07:30

Congratulations ellis! How exciting! english, I'm hoping all is ok with your bean and you.

Well it turns out my womb lining was incredibly thick - should be 5-9mm but mine was 20mm! Doc was amazing and explained everything so well. I opted for a procedure that vacuums out the excess tissue and womb lining because it turned out my doc is the UK's leading specialist at this emerging technology and our trust is teaching many of the others who are introducing it. Apparently Birmingham is using it already and London trusts are just learning, through workshops with my doc! If anyone was going to Hoover out my bits, I figured he was the best person for the job! Bleeding should now subside over the coming week then cycles start normally. I've got to take antibiotics just as a precaution but atm I'm feeling ok. Ish.

bythesea82 · 16/05/2014 07:31

Congrats ellis Grin
English really hoping the pink just goes away and everything is fine again. Thanks

tannyLoo · 16/05/2014 07:45

Broody blimey! How good is that, that you have a world leader to have a go at your bits! I'm impressed!

Seriously though, it's good to know what's happening and have something done about it. Your medical team sounds great.

I guess you'll need some r&r, but don't go disappearing on us again!

Ellisisland · 16/05/2014 07:50

Thanks everyone Smile not getting too excited though as sadly we know how these things can go

Broody - that's great that you had such good treatment. Makes such a huge difference when you have trust in the doctor treating you

FlorenceandZebedee · 16/05/2014 08:01

Congratulations ellis and fingers crossed english sorry to read your post this morning I hope that this is nothing more than a little preg bleed. Seems the BFP'S bring both joy and nightmares to the ladies in our very special tribe.

Hope everyone has a fab friday in this glorious sunshine x

bythesea82 · 16/05/2014 08:03

Sorry broody our messages crossed. Glad you got some answers and have a plan! Hopefully very soon you will feel like you're making forward progress x

TallGiraffe · 16/05/2014 08:15

Congratulations Ellis!

English - keeping everything crossed for you, I'm sure it'll be a stressful weekend for you. Flowers

Broody - glad you were seen by someone good and got some answers.

Metalhead · 16/05/2014 08:54

Congratulations Ellis! I hope you have an uneventful pregnancy this time.

English I'm sorry you're having such a worrying time, really hope it's nothing serious. Hope your move this weekend goes well too.

broody glad you got seen an expert, hopefully things will start returning to normal now.

Does anyone know if you still get an LH surge and +OPKs in an anovulatory cycle? I've read that painful boobs around the nipple area after ov indicates possible lack of ov, and that's exactly the king of pain I've had these last two cycles since my mc... on top of my rather light periods since then I've started panicking that I might not be ovulating!

Jetpackplease · 16/05/2014 11:04

Massive congratulations Ellis! Hopefully a boring successful pregnancy is ahead of you.

English I'm so sorry you have this worry on top of a probably already stressful move. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Fx for you Thanks

Glad you have some answers Broody and hopefully things will now improve.

Metal I think the OPKs can only show the LH surge, but it's possible to have the surge and not actually ovulate. I think temping is more reliable to show that ovulation itself happened. I have no reason to think I'm not ovulating but I might try temping this cycle as well as OPKs, just to better pin point the actual day of ovulation, as opposed to just the LH surge. I'm curious, as last cycle I seemed to go straight from nothing to peak on my CB OPK, with no high day first (I use the dual hormone ones). I want to try to get a better picture of when ov is actually happening.

KittyVonCatsington · 16/05/2014 17:26

I hope you don't mind me butting in on your thread ladies, but I just had to write something: English, I am so sorry you are going through this. How frightening for you, my lovely. I'll be thinking of you Thanks Just remember, it could be nothing...

Carly6971 · 16/05/2014 20:05

english hoping all goes well this weekend and the pink is just a normal little bit of discharge, will be thinking of you x

ellis huge congrats :) wishing you an uneventful 9 months x

silverine · 16/05/2014 21:35

Congratulations ellis, well done you! Wishing you a textbook pregnancy!
English how did today go, how was the move, are you all settled now? How's your discharge been? Hope nothing too heavy or worrying [hugs]!
broody great to hear you came across the best specialist. You must be relieved they identified the problem. Hope the procedure is not too painful or uncomfortable.

So we did manage to do the first deed of this cycle yesterday. And actually DH (and I) quite enjoyed it after last month's break so I didn't need to go on top, which obviously isn't the best position for conception. Roll on the weekend. Wink

Thought I was ovulating because of ewcm last night & my temps went up from 5 days of .2s and .3s to .4 yesterday & .5 today but did opk this evening & not even a faint line. Still a bit early though: CD12 today, usually ov is CD13.
Forgive my ignorance but how exactly do u know for sure you've ov through temping?

cavamonster · 16/05/2014 22:00

Another newbie here, been lurking for awhile. So my story is that I had my first miscarriage 3 weeks after my dad died in dec 12 and to be honest I thought considering the dispair and upset it was expected (and the bottles of wine and 30 cigs a day) so I was fine, I fell pregnant the following month and had my first mmc at my 12 week scan in mar 2012. I then ended up with Ashermans Syndrome which took 20 months to fix, to then fall pregnant again the month after my last op, I lost that baby at 8 weeks at the the end of Jan this year - another mmc.

We are now ready to try again, hoping to get a positive on opk's this weekend...changed my diet, stopped smoking since the last pregnancy, started accupuncture and generally just praying the next time is going to be our time...

Congrats to Ellis, wishing you well English..

Metalhead · 17/05/2014 09:26

Welcome cava, I'm sorry for your losses - sounds like you've been through a very tough time. Fx you'll get your happy ending soon.

10dpo here and I'm so fed up with the 2ww already! I almost poas this morning just to DO something, but stopped myself as I knew it would be pointless. I really hate this bit, I even prefer getting a BFN, at least then I can deal with the disappointment and move on, this limbo land is killing me! (Sorry for the morning rant, just had to get that off my chest.)

silverine · 17/05/2014 10:42

Wecome cava hope your stay on here is short and sweet! Have you had any tests done?
We all know the feeling Metal, hang in there!

Many BBTers on here? Anyone up to starting a BBT tracker? Post each Bike's temps. I am so curious how others' temp tend to vary.

Mine go up and down quite a bit, so pre-ov between 36.2-35.5 and post ov 36.7-36.8. So today is CD13 and dipped from .5 yesterday to .3 first thing, which is good, but then I did a second reading straight after which showed .5... Maybe my termometer is just crap! Hmm

Littlelady33 · 17/05/2014 10:56

I'm with you metal, almost did poas this morning and tbh I'm probably about 14dpo or many even 16-17 but held off. It's weird but I prefer AF arriving than a stick from Boots delivering the news. I also had a couple of super long cycles last year after coming off Yasmin so I'm only a little bit late. Periods never got right before I had BFP then mc so although I've still got hope for this month and a few symptoms I can't help spotting I suspect it's just another longish cycle as my body normalises! I'm in way too positive a mood for AF to be around the corner though, or maybe that's just sunshine!

katemn · 17/05/2014 11:36

Glad to hear that you've finally had some answers Broody - and that you're in the best of hands! Bleeding seems to have stopped for me yesterday, so hoping that holds out a while. If not, I'll get myself to the GP too.

Congratulations on your good news, Ellis. Hope everything works out well.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 17/05/2014 12:35

Welcome newbies sorry you find yourself here but it's a good place be for trying again!

Ellis a big congrats!!!

English you sound like you've got a lot going on! Hope you're ok fingers X for you.

I've decided to track my temp this month as seems cheaper than keep buying OPKs! Can anyone tell me more about it and a silly question but is there a certain thermometer I should use as the ones advertised for fertility tracking are more expensive than every day ones??

Justonemoretime · 17/05/2014 12:46

Littlemiss, you need the fertility ones to get the smaller increments/decimal places. Also, remembered, temping only tells you that you have ovd, not that you're about to, so unless you're going for it every couple of days anyway, you might miss the boat on temping alone. It will help you build up a pattern over a few months, tho. good luck! Grin
