So I couldn't find a May thread, so I thought I'd start one for all of us who have dropped off the April thread.

Aunty arrived this morning so I 've just started cycle 4. TTC #2. Just had a long cycle so if this is the same length my most fertile time will be over Easter weekend.

So I might go all pagan and invoke some Spring fertility goddess. Or something. Or piss on some sticks.

?? Good luck, Spring Goddesses.

So nice to have such positivity Smile FX nottalotta and kurama I really hope your positivity pays off and you both get ur bfp. I have just bought a clearblue advanced fertility monitor. No idea what I'm doing with it yet or how it works but am desperate for something to work in May.

kurama · 13/04/2014 17:15

ZebraZeebra · 13/04/2014 19:03

Is anyone using the internet cheapie OV sticks? I've just started to wonder - it sounds like with the CB it tells you in advance of when you'll be ovulating and you make sure you DTD a couple of days later? With the sticks it has a chart where you work out your cycle length and it tells you when to start testing - around CD 11, say.

Last time I got a positive test and I assumed it meant I was ovulating right then, we DTD and we conceived DS. Does anyone know if the positve with these tests means you're ovulating right then that day, or a few days later like with the CB? You'd think I knew this shit by now!!

Fingers crossed for everyone and love the positivity. Hurrah!

JacktheLab · 13/04/2014 19:09

Hello,

can I join, I've been dipping my toes into the buses for the last couple of months but obviously still not managed to seal the deal!

Have one DS, who will be two and a half soon. Been trying since xmas so this is cycle four.

As the boy is sleeping through better these days DH and I can finally think about another as previously we've been too knackered to even consider it!

lindamagoo · 13/04/2014 19:26

Welcome Jack and good luck Smile

Zebra I think when you get a positive on the ic opk's it's the same as the clearblue, you should ovulate within 12 to 36 hours x

Sparrowlegs248 · 13/04/2014 20:18

Thanks rambini i saw a cb fertility monitor on sale in boots for 50. Didn't buy it as obviously i will be preggers this month....

I'd love a bfp this month, its mum and mil birthdays AND our 1st wedding anniversary.

The CB says dtd within 48 hours after a +.

I'm going to try dtd on the day, and each days after for two days.

Welcome jack and good luck.

MissMrsMummy · 13/04/2014 20:54

Just a warning re: cb digis. Last cycle I got a positive on my cb digi the day after a positive with my ics. I'm so glad I used both!

Welcome Jack

I'm only on CD4 and I can't wait to start poas soon (opk)!

Starbright24 · 13/04/2014 21:28

Hi crisp welcome back rambini and hope the antibiotics kick in soon linda

Bloody frustrating trying to get a gp appointment - its always, we're fully booked, try phoning tomorrow at 8am to see if there's space in a weeks time. - which I then forget to do as I'm getting ready for work. Hopefully will be able to get something over the holdays though. Think I'm at the 'what's next' stage after not being on contracteption for a year and also having lots of ov pain both sides for the last month.

spinningirl10 · 14/04/2014 07:02

Morning Grin

I've been away for the weekend and couldn't get on MN!!!
Haven't read back yet.

I'm Cd9 already so will start poas today but usually get positive opk cd 11 but I'm really hoping its late as I'm away without dp from tomorrow till Friday lunch!
Typically we have dtd loads over the weekend, wish it was fertile time! dp knows we have to dtd early tomorrow morning before I leave and as soon as I get home on Friday Grin

lindamagoo · 14/04/2014 08:30

Star I hope you get a gp app soon, get some blood tests done and see if things are ok...

Spinning you might be lucky, those little swimmers can survive a few days so they might catch the egg.

I'm going to my friends funeral today, still can't believe he's gone, going to be a sad afternoon. Then I've to go for a chest x-ray as I'm still in agony. Today is not a good day Hmm

splodge77 · 14/04/2014 08:58

hi all

can i join you? just started TTC in April and got AF today (I'm still getting hang of all these abbreviations btw so may make a fool of myself) so its May all the way now. Got pregnant with my son after 3 months last time but i'm 37 now so expecting it may well take longer. is everyone here using ovulation kits? I thought i'd try a few months on just guesswork/counting the calendar as my period is pretty regular. Good luck all. xx

kurama · 14/04/2014 09:03

morning all. linda hope you feel better soon! fx that may is a lucky month for us all! Grin Thanks
I actually enjoyed the baby shower last night, was a fun night.but I love anything that has fruit and chocolate fountain as part of the buffetGrin hope she likes the presents we bought for loSmile

Starbright24 · 14/04/2014 09:38

Hi jack and splodge

Did everyone else get kicked out of mn yesterday?

I use cheapy internet opks. - only started last cycle and still trying to get a decent chart together along with temperature. Started using them this cycle at 8 cd poas addict early but got a pretty dark line which have been getting fainter ever since. Hoping it's going to get darker again this week as according to my app it's a good week to dtd - just need to persuade the dp now lol.
Went to my dsisters house yesterday who had a cot in her kitchen - it's been doing the rounds for the last few years to various friends and family but is now homeless so arrived back at hers. Didn't feel confident enough to say it was my turn next Sad - damn. That's made me teary writing that. Lol. Silly.

Glad you enjoyed the baby shower karuma

Starbright24 · 14/04/2014 10:01

Lol. Having read the bit at the top of this page by cowbiscuits, I was looking up pagan fertility symbols and now have decided to go out for a lovely woodland walk and gather pine cones which are going to boost my fertility. It's a gorgeous day and you never now erm they might work. Haha. Grin

ChaircatMiaow · 14/04/2014 10:23

Starbright, that sounds like a lovely day, fertility symbol or no.

How accurate do you all think fertility tracking apps are?

ZebraZeebra · 14/04/2014 10:37

Starbright that sounds like a lovely day Grin

Thanks for the info about cheap OPK tests. I know that generally DTD every three days through a whole month should stand you in good stead but god - who has time to do that??

Ho to jack and splodge!

Starbright24 · 14/04/2014 10:37

I use 'my days' and have been for about a year. up till this month, I was thinking it was fairly reliable. Think my ov day is a couple of days earlier than it suggests but it always get af bang on and has calculated cycle length etc. This month may be fine. Expect I'm just being paranoid.
I've started with the opk and temping just to be sure. Last month they seemed to match. We'll see with this cycle Smile

Sparrowlegs248 · 14/04/2014 12:30

Starbright i use mydays too, but last month tried clearblue digis. I got the + on cd8 when mydays had me oving on cd 14!!

Its good to use to keep track though, i use the notes to keep a record of spotting etc.

JacktheLab · 14/04/2014 12:34

Thanks for the welcome guys Grin

I've been using my days too, seems quite accurate, used it when we were trying for the boy although he was the result of a quicky and not the day we were supposed to dtd Wink

I have opks just cheap ones from amazon but haven't really used them much yet

Starbright24 · 14/04/2014 14:20

Hmmm...think maybe I need to start with opks earlier. This could explain why no bfp yet. Doh!!!

kurama · 14/04/2014 15:40

im guessing my days is another fertility app? might have to try it

Starbright24 · 14/04/2014 17:29

Had a lovely walk in the woods and found loads of pine cones to dot around the house. I was wondering how to explain them to my dp without him thinking I'm totally crazy just slightly obsessed but fortunately he just put it down to being a teacher and collecting random things to use in class. Phew!
I even saw 3 little baby bunnies hopping around and munching grass. Very cute :)

ZebraZeebra · 14/04/2014 17:53

Three little baby bunnies has to be a GREAT fertility sign Grin

We also went to the woods. DS is mostly refusing to get out the buggy at the moment - confidence thing, I think - but I got a great little vid of him and DH balancing on a log.

Might give My Days a go. I can't remember what I used last time - Fertility Friend maybe.

spinningirl10 · 14/04/2014 19:07

Linda. Hope the sun was shining for your friend ttoday Thanks and hope the scan revealed what's wrong.

MissMrsMummy · 14/04/2014 19:27

Pregnant friend alert. Can't handle it! Just found out today. They just started trying and it happened straight away. So lucky.
