Choccy it's hard to see on the pic you've posted, but is the line right at the bottom of the strip next to the little paper flap? If so then it's just where the dye sometimes collects with these ICs. (Sorry if you already know that and there is another line I can't see on my screen, in which case ignore me!)

I have to say from what I've read it is practically impossible to get a +hpt at 5 dpo, most people don't even implant until at least 6/7dpo and then it would take at least a couple more days for the hcg levels up rise sufficiently.

Fingerscrossed36 · 08/04/2014 18:22

Blondie sounds like ovulation today.

On the sperm meets egg (SMEP) you'd need to dtd tue, wed, Thursday and sat. Really hope it's your month

Would you agree English?

Choccywoccydodah · 08/04/2014 18:32

Hi yes I thought it was totally impossible too!!
It's just that it's pink! A line rather than a colour run, it's where the hair clip is so in from the paper flap, in the middle of the dark line and paper flap.

Lucy amazing news!! Congratulations sweetie!!

spinningirl10 · 08/04/2014 18:32

Lucy...20 weeks!!! Where has that time gone, fab news on another boy, what great fun they'll have. Hope you're keeping well xx

Choccy...good to see you but I can't see the pics clearly enough to see a line and 5dpo is sooo early!! Will keep fingers crossed for a bfp sticky bean for you this month xx

EnglishGirlAbroad · 08/04/2014 19:35

Blondie - its hard to determine ov with out temping or opks. But I would suggest giving it another few days of dtd at least to make sure you've covered all bases.

Choccy - its hard to see in that pic. But I really hope it is a line for you. Don't be a stranger Smile

Lucy wow 20 weeks! Gone so fast! And another boy, thats lovely. A little brood of little men! How many have you got already?

ZebraZeebra · 08/04/2014 19:53

Choccy fingers crossed it's a line. I've used this HPTs before and I think the evap line is very close to the flap at the top of the maximum point. I've been fooled before by that! But crossing fingers it's a BFP.

I think I need to re-read up on TTC. We don't have much opportunity to DTD as DH can get him at ten most nights and have to be up at five am the next morning for some clients. So understandably not wanting to DTD several nights running to cover all bases. I was working on the premise of ovulation occurring around CD14 for me, and DTD a couple of days before that and getting a positive OPK. On the assumption that a) sperm lives up up 3-5 days and the egg has a 48 hour window of fertile opportunity. But obviously my maths is out.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 08/04/2014 20:06

Your maths is fine Zebra, but unless you know exactly when you ov its hard to pin down the days that you need to dtd. Can you squeeze in an afternoon shag or a quickie on the morning??

ZebraZeebra · 08/04/2014 20:13

Luckily I've been tracking my cycles for ages and have a very average cycle and it looks like my next fertile period is from a Friday through to the following Tuesday. Much more opportunity to DTD more than in the week.

Trying to look on the bright side. Looks like DS1 is deep in 18 month sleep regression territory - I'm still upstairs with him while typing this. He's usually sleep by seven! It's supposed to last two months - aaaaiiee! So probably good I didn't get a BFP this month. The exhaustion would have been horrendous :)

Metalhead · 08/04/2014 20:15

Fx for you Choccy that you get a 'proper' BFP in a few days.

Zebra remember that even if you manage to dtd at exactly the right time you've only got a 1 in 4 chance of conceiving every cycle, so don't beat yourself up. However, it might be worth checking (if you haven't already) with opks or temping when exactly you ovulate in your cycle, it might be earlier or later than you think.

KittyVonCatsington · 08/04/2014 20:16

Hi Choccy -really can't see on my iPad but I know it is probably much clearer in real life. Are you sure you are 5dpo-could you be more? (good to hear from you again-mwaah!)

Hi Lucy!

I second everything, English has just said. Truly pinpointing ovulation is so hard when you don't get handy(?!) pains to inform you. DTD as often as possible is really the only way to increase your odds

KittyVonCatsington · 08/04/2014 20:21

I think I am having hormonal trouble left over from chem cycle before last. After the horrible episode yesterday morning, this morning I felt a little nauseous at around the same time. DH and I went for a little holiday pub lunch and I had two halves of beer and I got sick and some diarrhea again after and still feel a little fragile. English-I know your cycles have been playing up too-has this happened to you?

ZebraZeebra · 08/04/2014 21:06

Thanks Metalhead I know but it's so hard not to, isn't it? From using OV sticks and tracking my cycle, I'm fairly sure it's averaging at a 28 day cycle with a 14 day luteal phase. Getting positive OV tests around CD14. I usually start testing from CD 11.

Kitty when I was pregnant with DS, every single month I would have a horrendous vomiting period lasting two hours. Very violent, I strained muscles and burst blood vessels. The first two months I thought it was two unlucky bouts of food poisoning. I also got "Delhi belly" every single month. By the fifth month I mentioned it to my MW and she suggested it was my body "remembering" my periods and reacting with a huge surge of hormones Hmm It went on every month on the day AF was due until I gave birth. It's very possible your body is doing the same and going through a hormone surge resulting in a dicky tummy. Poor you :( Hope it passes very quickly.

xBlueberry88x · 08/04/2014 21:09

choccy I hope it is a positive!

Getting increasingly annoyed with DH at the moment I always aim to dtd every other day during the month and more over fertile week if we can and every month he buggers it up! 3 days without sex so far grrr hope weve already done enough but god men are annoying.

KittyVonCatsington · 08/04/2014 21:19

Thanks Zebra - I feel that might be what it is! I'm only on CD8 so that must be the only explanation

EnglishGirlAbroad · 08/04/2014 21:38

My cycles are still a bit wonky, but I don't get any nausea Kitty. Sorry I can't be any help. Maybe you're just a bit more sensitive to the hormonal changes since your mc/cp.

Treaclepie19 · 08/04/2014 21:43

choccy i hope its a bfp for you :)

kitty, hope it passes for you and you feel better soon.

I'm still having nausea and stomach trouble. Mainly in the evening. Guessing ibs or collitis (cant remember how to spell it)... Either way its driving me mad. That coupled with work stress and visiting the hospital most nights is just tipping my hormones over the edge tonight :(

kurama · 08/04/2014 21:59

hey hope its a bfp choccy ! kitty feel better soon. i started getting cramps today but not due till sun. but ive had pains all week so god knows lol.

KittyVonCatsington · 08/04/2014 22:26

Bloody hormones Grin

kurama · 08/04/2014 23:13

yer I know. I was itching my tatto earlier and made it bleed by accident and dh slapped my leg and raised his voice slightly to tell me off while grinning and I burst into tears. made him feel guilty and apologise for half hour before id let him touch or kiss me again Wink

gennibugs · 09/04/2014 06:31

Morning all

Will have a proper catch up later of the threads to see how everyone is.

The scan yesterday was ok, the lady doing wouldn't tell me anything, just said the pics/results would be sent to my doctor. She kept asking me if it hurt and seemed surprised when I said no, but I'm probably reading too much into it!

CD10 here and still no smily face of any sort of my cb opk so starting to worry a bit now.

Good luck to anyone testing today!

Littlebear81 · 09/04/2014 07:11

Morning all. I've been hovering for a while as I spent march waiting for AF or BFP and got neither. Been having 40+ day cycles since coming off the pill. Today is cd51 and think I may have a BFP!!!! Have absolutely no symptoms so not sure I believe it yet. Will attempt to upload a picture to you your opinion Shock

Littlebear81 · 09/04/2014 07:12

Treaclepie19 · 09/04/2014 07:13

Morning everyone :)
I've only been charting temperature for a few days but looks like i caught a snapshot of ovulation (right when my opk turned peak).
Does that look right? Or am i being stupid even trying to use it this month when ive only got a few temperatures?
