Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

OOh Min good luck on your theory test! Fingers crossed for you, and let us know how you get on!

Re Cycle length - I have short ones- 26-28 days max. Never been longer than that.

cookielove · 01/04/2014 07:12

Just a quick lurk on to say I would be a elephant, cause I luff them or a orca but that's taken already!

lala5 · 01/04/2014 09:33

lil and RPopz good luck with your appointments, sorry to hear ERTD got you

Currently on our road trip and feeling like teenagers JSing in my mum's house ha ha!

It has turned a bit glum - perhaps some shagging stories needing to be shared would pick mood up a bit? What's the most effort you've gone to to try and get your shag on in aid of baby? My dh works shifts so occasionally we have to plan for his break in a split shift.

lala5 · 01/04/2014 09:34

Ooh animal - definitely a big bird of prey coz I could fly and I wouldn't get chomped by a cat easily

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 01/04/2014 14:46

How did the appointment go Lil?

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 01/04/2014 14:54

And the theory test Min?

Minion · 01/04/2014 15:41

I passed with flying colours! Though the driving lesson just before didn't go so great as my mind was on the bloody exam!
I'm so chuffed, and relieved. Can concentrate on trying to drive now.

Phew!!!

lala5 · 01/04/2014 15:55

Well done min!

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 01/04/2014 16:16

Hooray well done Min !!

Don't worry about the driving lesson, we all have good days and bad days

I knocked the wingmirror on a van the other day passing him on a narrow lane, his was fine, mine was a bit scraped, I just laughed

I'm loving the animal thing, so far we have a Kitten, a Cocker Spaniel a Unicorn, a Killer whale, and Elephant and a Bird of Prey! Have I missed any out? What a wonderful menagerie we make!

lil1ady · 01/04/2014 18:50

hi guys. glad the animals have cheered everyone up Grin

congrats on passing theory test min Thanks

appointment was not at all what I expected. I was told it would be an hour long with the consultant. we were called in half hour late to see the senior nurse and were in there about 15mins. she didn't ask nearly as much as you said she would fox. I was feeling quite annoyed about it but trying to focus ob the fact I already have an ovary scan booked for next week and can book my hsg in the near future. she was hoping I could have done hsg on Thursday but they were fully booked and has to be before cd10 and they only do the test 2days a week! oh, and the month I have the hsg we are not allowed to ttc. I've never read that anywhere!Confused and next month I'll probably be on holiday so will have to be the month after for hsg grrrr. still its progress!

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 01/04/2014 19:09

well done Min!

Lil that sounds a bit unsatisfying. I don't get why you were told it would be with a consultant when it wasn't. Did you query it? Great that you have a scan booked though. What's a hsg?

lil1ady · 01/04/2014 19:13

Tbh wil she was rushing us so much I was focussing on asking what I wanted to before she threw us out the door!! I guess we will see the consultant after the scan and hsg. dh gets it easy again!

HSG is where they xray with the dye to make sure your tubes are open. apparently there is a 1% risk of infection so they give you antibiotics. one of them is rectal so not looking forward to that!!

Redshoes56 · 01/04/2014 19:21

lil - arg! So sorry the appointment was a bit of a disappointment (you like what I did just there?). I definitely was not told to abstain the entire month of my HSG! I think for several days before, yes, but not a month. What a pain that is for you re: the scheduling :( Can you go to a different radiology lab?

You're right, though. Any progress is good progress. Stay positive!

Well done, min!

I really need to make it a habit to pop in more often. I miss so much when I'm away for a few days. Glad you all made it through Mother's Day unscathed. It's in May here in the States, so I have a bit of time before then to prepare myself for the vom-fest (I liked that description). Unless, of course, I'm expecting by then -- than get ready to vom, ladies!

I need an animal, eh? I'm the tortoise when it comes to TTC slow and steady wins the race, eh? (Why am I suddenly Canadian ... eh?) Or, maybe I'm a swan. I may look cool and serene from a distance, but don't mess with them. They're aggressive as hell and will do anything to peck your eye out-- reach a goal. Hmm.

I have my egg retrieval tomorrow. DH is on a few days abstinence right now before providing his contribution to the party, so there has been no sexy time in the Shoes household. The doc today said she say 8 possibles during my scan. That doesn't mean I'll get 8 eggs ... but I'm hopeful. All of the relaxation, vitamins, supplements, acupuncture and general PMA has to help. Right?!

Redshoes56 · 01/04/2014 19:22

The doc today said she SAW 8 possibles... can't type!

Redshoes56 · 01/04/2014 19:26

I used the wrong than/then too. Please wait while the grammar police take me in for questioning :)

DulcetMoans · 01/04/2014 19:43

I would be frustrated with that too lil! But like you said, progress!!

So... What animal would I be?? Hmmm. Cat is my obvious one but that's gone. How about a duck? They look pretty happy, paddling along. And they can fly. And chicks are cute. They can be pretty violent though... Or a meerkat! They are jolly and have excellent family and social groups!

DulcetMoans · 01/04/2014 19:45

Cross post with red, sorry!

Good luck for the egg retrieval. That's some real good news. How long does that process take?

Well done min too. Celebrations tonight?

Fucking hell Lil, that's not good Sad - will pm you x

Re hsg, unfortunately no Dtd at all even earlier in the month - not until it's done. It isn't worth the risk x

RPopz · 01/04/2014 20:31

Congrats on the theory test Min!

Oh lil that is so annoying. I would have demanded my full hour, the nhs is such a bloody pain in the arse sometimes!

Redshoes56 · 01/04/2014 20:34

It's a super quick procedure, dulcet - 10 minutes maybe? I have to be there at the ass-crack of dawn, though, to be prepped, speak to the anesthesiologist, etc. Then DH will drive me home where I'll sleep all day with the heating pad. I'm excited, though. Staying zen.

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 01/04/2014 20:47

God having to abstain because of a 1% risk. How annoying. Although if it's dangerous to the baby (or you obviously), definitely not worth the risk. I am learning so much on this thread that I had no clue about before.

Red that sounds great. Fx for you.

ohfourfoxache · 01/04/2014 20:59

I don't understand where he "one hour appointment" thing comes from? There are national ratios that trusts have to comply with, which means at the very most the NHS can offer 15 minute first appointments (whether these are with drs or nurses). Follow up appointments are shorter Sad

lil1ady · 01/04/2014 21:00

it was infection 1% risk, no idea why you can't get upduffed in same cycle as hsg. She just said the dye isn't nice for a baby to get comfy in. Yes she said those exact words!

red 8 follicles is amazing! Go zen/acupunture/stress free!! You are obviously doing something right. Just remember you only need one good strong speedy one! will you have transfer this cycle if they mature in time this time around?

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 01/04/2014 21:06

Oh I thought you meant because you had to take antibiotics. Why don't they provide information booklets or something if they haven't got time to explain things to you? Most annoying if you actually want to understand what's going on if you're a geek like me
