Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

RPopz · 09/04/2014 08:42

Min, love your hubby's response! Bless him. Good luck with the digi, be nice to see the word there in black and white!!

Lil, did your hubby have tests done too? X

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 09/04/2014 08:45

Is he there when dn is Lil? Is he close to him?

That's true, not out yet. And I do feel a bit nauseous after my morning cuppa Grin. (Ignore this comment, don't fuel the mental).

Did you very carefully use the word 'geniuses' instead of 'geeks' there Wink?!

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 09/04/2014 10:12

That's a line for sure Min!

Thanks for the rundown on symptoms, I've really learned so much on here about early pg symptoms, and how so much of it can be confused with pms.

Weird that you dreamt about it. I definitely think the body can 'know' something is up before you're consciously aware of it. Just think all those hormones raging through your body, your brain must perceive that.

Very sweet that your DH is looking after you. Let him, and make the most of it!

Red I'm really, really rooting for you. I'm looking forward to the day that I open this thread to read some more wonderful news from you. xx Your PMA is inspirational.

Lil in what was is your DH not coping with your DN? Is it because he wants a baby and can't cope with the pressure, or is it because he's realizing what hard work they are and doesn't like the idea of that?

When my DP was going through his wobble about wanting kids or not, I had my DNs over to stay a couple of times. I put huge pressure on myself to 'prove' to him how easy it was, and what a wonderful mother I would be. I think all DP perceived was "OMG they're noisy!".

I think what you have to remind your DH is that it's one thing coping with a child that he's not related to, who he sees every now and then. Don't forget your DN is your blood relative, you're bound to love him/her more than DH does. He might feel detached and now know how best to deal with your DN. But when it's your own child, that is a part of him and that he has seen grow from the very beginning, a child that you and he know better than anyone else in the world, he will be the expert on looking after that child. Not to mention the overwhelming love he will feel for the child.

The way I put it to my DP was to relate it to his dogs - you know how other peoples dogs can be annoying, and you might not really like them. But you love your own dog so much, it doesn't matter when she's annoying, or poos on the floor, you just get on with it and never begrudge any of the hard work because you love her.

mad dog lady here

I love that we're a team of 'Geeks' Grin, glamorous cabin crew Wink and self-employed clever people. What else does everyone do?

DulcetMoans · 09/04/2014 10:12

I see min, that's a line. Get a digi though, get the technology to tell you!

Great news on the eggies red. When will you find out about the next stage?

OP posts:
Minion · 09/04/2014 10:17

Digi purchased, along with half the fruit and veg display from tesco! Shouldn't have to wait too long for a wee I imagine, I'm like niagra falls at the moment.

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 09/04/2014 10:54

Yay Go Minion!

Thanks everyone for encouraging me to just crack on with ttc and not worry about new job as well. I had lost focus a bit and just thought perhaps I should wait... what will be will be.

Also helps that my current boss told me that she fell pg immediately before starting her current job - and that it's just the way of the world and our employers just had to get on with it.

So I pulled out my Fertility Friend app and started temping again today. Seriously considering OPKs now after Min's success!!

Minion · 09/04/2014 10:58

mich I know I shouldn't condone the use on contraband but it really helped me to not worry about getting the wrong time of month and just getting bored of shagging. It was good because at the non fertile times we just had a laugh and concentrated on those few days.
I also realise for some, it's more stress than necessary, however I'm one of those who doesn't really enjoy surprises so it worked for me.
Speaking of which... Here's the digi.

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 09/04/2014 11:17

Yaaaay! That's given me a big grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I think I'm with your way of thinking on the OPKs (sorry, I know it's against the ethos of this thread). I hate uncertainty, and knowing when the time is right does appeal. On the other hand, I've seen a few on here with confusing OPK results, and last month I had a confusing temping chart... so it could go either way I guess.

Stay with us and coach us on our symptom spotting please Min!

Minion · 09/04/2014 11:22

I'm not going anywhere just yet mich, though I'm not too sure I'll be of any help.

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 09/04/2014 12:34

There's nothing like seeing it in writing!! What's your due date Min?

Definitely stay. Those other threads are a bit bonkers.
I can't be bothered with contraband. It all sounds like far too much effort and I'm pretty lazy. May change my mind if I'm here by myself in 6 months!

Good decision Mich. I am jealous of you all with your interesting sounding careers which you love. I haven't ever found anything I like particularly. I figure I'll try something new when I'm finished having babies.

Minion · 09/04/2014 12:40

wil 17 December. Looks like I get out of doing the Xmas dinner this year!
Yes I've had a bit of a nosy at ante natal boards. It's all a bit too much over there for the time being.

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 09/04/2014 12:53

Oooh exciting little Christmas baby. How lovely.

Heads up to avoid fb if you're feeling easily annoyed. There's a 'thing' going round where people post useless info about their child/children and their labour with the phrase 'repost if you're a proud mummy.' 'Repost if you're a nausea-inducing idiot' more like. Sorry, may just be me who is easily annoyed Blush...

Minion · 09/04/2014 13:03

Not just you. I've promised myself my FB will not turn into my baby book.
Nauseating!
And all the nicknames.. Ie lil man, bub, bubba, ickle pwincess/pwince (yes there is a few who have wrote these horrid phrases).
Ghastly.

ZingSweetCoconut · 09/04/2014 13:34

minion

Congratulations! yay!Smile really happy for you! Thanks

DulcetMoans · 09/04/2014 13:43

Oh, you will need a name for the bump though min! Doesn't have to be sickly-sweet but need to call them something before they get here! In honour of us you should call it your little unicorn. Grin

OP posts:
Minion · 09/04/2014 14:12

I think it will probably be a dot from now, until we find out gender.
Husband has just rung, in a roundabout way he's told me he wants me to ground myself today. Who am I to argue?
So, that's me, all being ok, not flying for about 18 months or so.
I'm giddy with excitement about it haha

ZingSweetCoconut · 09/04/2014 14:15

It's gotta be miniMinion!

Grin
Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 09/04/2014 14:19

Do you think it's dodgy flying during pg Minion? I have a thing about it but always assumed I was being totally irrational. I agree about miniMinion!

'ickle pwince'???? hideous.

Minion · 09/04/2014 14:46

Well, technically up to the 12 week mark you're supposed to ground yourself when the MINIon is growing, after that it's safe to fly (unless your flight crew then it's a no all the way through), however we have a very physically demanding job. Especially as it gets busier in summer. Our drinks carts alone are 15 stone or so, lots of walking on a gradient and the radiation from flying.
I used to feel if stop flying after the 12 week mark, just in case, but we waited long enough and I don't think I could handle it well, if the worst was to happen and I was doing all that manual work. I'd always think 'what if'.

lil1ady · 09/04/2014 15:02

min I would ground myself in ur shoes. I agree on not taking any chances, UV waited long enough!

dh absolutely adores dn. he's finding it hard spending time with him because it makes him feel like he's missing out because we don't have one yet. the 2 of them are playing in the garden together giggling away ATM. its beautiful to see but heartbreaking at the same time. I guess for me having him is my chance to be a stand in mummy for a bit and experience what I'm missing out on a bit. dh also gets annoyed because I offered to look after dn so sil could rest one day a week (she has a long term illness so gets tired easily etc) but she ends up gallivanting all day when I have him instead. and we never know what time she is going to turn up with him etc. its a bit annoying but I just accept that's the way she is and enjoy time with my nephew. dh over thinks it.

feeling a bit naughty that we DTD while dn was having his nap! Grin but I wasn't going to miss out on dh being in the mood for a change. I think it was a bit "I'm enjoying this, we need to keep trying to make one" that had him in the mood. that and guilt that we didn't DTD last night or the night before when we said we would!

of to search for mins pic on cysal!

Minion · 09/04/2014 15:11

lil you have to grab your opportunity. Who knows, that one fumble whilst DN was kipping could have been a game changer. I hope so x

DulcetMoans · 09/04/2014 15:49

MINIon - amazing. That's it! That's what it's called now. Does mean you might have to out your username to DH to tell him though...

lil - your description of your DN has even made me want one even more! He sounds fab!

OP posts:
Minion · 09/04/2014 15:55

I reckon I'd get away with not showing this crazy, he knows his sister and I love minions, I'd just say I got it from that.

I hope it's all our time soon. I truly do.
