Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Yeah DH has never been there while I've tested (mostly as they were all stupidly early and behind his back!) But I almost think how will I explain this if it is pos! Lol

If it was me I'd just be totally over-excited and in a rush to say anyway, so it'd either be an immediate garbled phone call, or ( more likely ) me waiting, stick in hand, the next time he walked in the door lol.

He knows how much I want this, and he does too, so I figure it's more the message than the, bound to be rushed and blabbering or worrying over trying to get immediate hospital appointment, way I'd tell him :)

as for the wine, I don't drink very often so I don't tend to worry when I do. in fertile window now and had 2/3rds of a bottle last night so my mums fault and I once posted a drunken incoherent message in here during the two so I definitely won't be judging!

I don't have a job so mat leave is not currently an issue. well I do but I'm self employed with no work so still not an issue! but I think everyone's feelings and circumstances are different. and there's a reason you can now give 6months mat leave to the dad!

RPopz my DP wouldn't care if he was there or not. He has been both times I got my BFPs but it was just because he happened to be in the house. That makes him sound like a knob, but it's more he's just v relaxed about the whole thing and I don't think gets excited about babies until it becomes more of a reality.

I try not to drink during TWOT but have accidentally got drunk at the start of both my pgs (when I didn't know I was pg). So definitely no judgement here.

Re POAS with DH present... DP has no idea about my mega and now seriously depleted stash of internet cheapie pee sticks, and doesn't know how often I POAS. I tell him after I've done it, and if I ever really think there's a chance of a BFP, I make sure I do it while he's still in the house so I could go and tell him straight away. I'm a blabbermouth, there's no way in the world I could sit on that information all day before telling him and telling you all as well

As for wine in the TWOT? Yep. Done that. Also got stupidly drunk one month during twot and was relieved when ERTD came that time, didnt want to think I was damaging anything! I don't drink a lot though, so one or two drinks is usually my limit.

I think I might have sounded more alcohol obsessed than actually true. It was just one glass - been trying to be good and cut down but I was having a moment.

I'm a wildlife scientist and one of my jobs is training folk in animal handling (or not). Very fun but quite a novelty as normally I'm stuck at a desk.

Right, michs questions...

1. symptoms. Assuming this one is ok, for me it went like this... Hot flashes, really hot. Thought it was cause I went drinking on Friday and Saturday sweating out the vodka, I assume differently now. Long naps sat and sun, I usually do, but this was a deep sleep. Unbelievable spots. Usually get one on my chin before ertd shows up but I got them on my actual face this time. Breadsticks are usually sore after icing, so that wasnt a giveaway for me. Still get rushing pains now, but not asbad as pms .. Woke up with sore throat one morning and slight blocked nose but that cleared when iwas up and around . No implantation bleeding /cramps. At all . And that little glob of white cm the other night . Im not sure what prompted me to test tho ,, as I sasaid I wouldn't, but something was urging me to. So even if this isn't successful then at least I know I canactually get upduffed ..
2. iI didn't do anything differently in all honesty .. Just used the contraband and shagged every day I saw a line get a bit more darker.

Sorry that's long, never thought I'd be the one to write all that.
I'm sticking around if that is ok, I just don't have the balls to leave.

I got good news today. Our embryo made it to blastocyst stage, was biopsied for the genetic testing and is now frozen and waiting for us :) Hopefully it comes back clear, right number of chromosomes and ready to be transferred. Please, please root for our snowflake!

I hated those flashing smiley tests. I never felt they worked right. I partook in quite a bit of contraband, perhaps more than previously admitted. Heh.

I'm a little late to the conversation mich but I agree with lil and others -- go for the role you want AND keep on trucking for that baby. We aren't getting any younger as career women OR potential moms. My thinking is this: Even if you get pregnant tomorrow, that still gives you 8 or 9 solid months on the job to make inroads, which you'll be that much further ahead career-wise when you go back to work. No reason to sit around and set yourself back on either front.

We do have to make tough choices (stay home, go back) but if you are even thinking at all about going back, kick as much ass as you can before going on leave so that you have a great opportunity and legacy waiting for you after leave. Empower yourself.

It may have been playing on my mind to have dreamt that, but it was weird.

Successful pg: really faint, hardly there line. CB test said 3+ weeks.
Unsuccessful pg: really dark line. So I agree it doesn't mean much.

Although in the interest of science (and everyone wanting me to put a pic on canyouseealine) I've just done another hpt and an opk... The opk theory does indeed work. In fact it's darker than the control line and it came up straight away.
