I'm POAS tomorrow morning.

I know it's nuts as I had a period two weeks ago and can tell I'm gearing up for AF again (oh the joys short-cycle-ovary) but I have to make a decision re my job for the next few months and if I am pg it will make it a lot easier plus I have FRERs sat in my cupboard

PolytheneGirl · 01/04/2014 21:23

Fx for you kitty I so hope it's implantation. Thanks

KittyVonCatsington · 01/04/2014 21:24

Oh Lemon -I didn't know you'd lost it-how are you doing?? Thanks] You can do whatever you like!

KittyVonCatsington · 01/04/2014 21:28

MrsE and Poly -I hate hearing stories like you both experienced-you shouldn't have had to go through poor treatment at such a vulnerable time. Kudos to you both for not letting it out you off!

Jo178 · 01/04/2014 21:35

Oh I really don't want to get anyone's hopes up but this is what happened for me.
Positive opk cd16, negative the day after with no ov pain unlike last month. Dtd the afternoon of positive opk and the morning after. No real 'symptoms' until I had diarrhoea from about 4dpo followed by days of being 'very regular' sometimes twice a day which is unheard of for me!
I had pains low down on my left side which felt hot on Saturday lunchtime, I posted on here that I had to poa opk because it felt exactly like ov pains. Then I bled all day yesterday and a teeny bit today. Slight niggly headache last night before bed. Tested yesterday and this morning with ic, bfn.
The bleeding wasn't overly heavy but enough to leave marks in my pants.
Felt 'off' at random times today, sick, dizzy, windy pressure type feelings then bam! Bfp this evening.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 01/04/2014 21:35

Well at least you are getting good care now poly.

Basically my problem stemmed from my last ds, was mine and dhs first. So the usual things they check on first babies I think they glossed over. Ds had a v large head, just over 75th centile. Noted on the scan but sonographer said you'll be alright it's not your first is it ?! I'm 5'2", so my pelvis isn't huge. My hands and feet are tiny. All other babies on 25th and 50th centile. It was a planned home birth as I notoriously have v quick labours. I've had a home birth before all good. I called mw out told her I was in labour she didn't agree. I tried to explain I go from1cm-10cm in an hour. She said at least 2 days. My mum and I looked at each other and knew I was going to be left to it alone. Dh popped out, believing the mw. True to form I progressed v quickly, was pushing for 25 mins before mw got back to me. It felt as though head was stuck. She arrived 5 mins before ds was born. Dh arrived 2 mins prior. My waters went, meconium, I panicked and even though I knew my bowel was prolapsing I just gave it everything to get him out. I stood to deliver him. He was fine. My arse was not. Prolapsed bowel repair, skin tag removal and heamoroidectomy followed , then they had to stretch my bowel. As they left it restricted. I'd have rather given birth to all my 5 in one day than the 2 years of pain and surgery. I couldn't walk, sit, drive, carry ds. ....I'm fixed now though Grin ds is 3 this year.

Mw couldn't be bothered basically. While cord was still dangling she discussed with other mw what a horrid profession it had become. It was awful. I'll pay for better care next time. It didn't need to be like that.

KittyVonCatsington · 01/04/2014 21:39

I think I love you, Jo! Grin it helps to read that thanks.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 01/04/2014 21:41

Keeping fx for you kitty. Not long until you can find out.Wink

KittyVonCatsington · 01/04/2014 21:42

Shocking,MrsE-absolutely shocking. You are one strong and brave lady!

KittyVonCatsington · 01/04/2014 21:43

I need to stop x-posting Blush

Treaclepie19 · 01/04/2014 21:45

Oh Mrs, sounds like you had a terrible time!
I'm glad all is well now.

I hope I get a solid smiley tomorrow.

Not sure how I will deal with childbirth though :p
Not dtd tonight. I am shattered.

Jo178 · 01/04/2014 21:45

Mrs E that's an absolute disgrace. Did you complain? You're so so brave. Thanks

PolytheneGirl · 01/04/2014 21:48

MrsE that sounds horrific. It is my general experience with the NHS that they treat everyone a) as if they are an idiot, b) you don't know your own body, c) you are an inconvenience and d) you are a pain in their neck. And also in my experience they try to blame you for not telling them, when that is exactly what you and you DH, DM, DF had been trying to do from the start!

Will it all hold in labour again? Is it a worry? Would you consider a ELCS? I had one and it was actually fab although, nhs aftercare was a shocker!

PolytheneGirl · 01/04/2014 21:52

Sorry kitty and everyone else actually. I don't mean to scare anyone. I have come to the conclusion that when in hospital you have to stand up for yourself, try to know a little bit about what should happen and if it doesn't, scream and shout and stamp your feet until they sort it out! I'm sure if everything is straight forward, as for most it is, you'd never know about any of these issues and you're back home with your bundle of joy before you know it. I'm sure things have improved in the past 3 1/2 years anyway.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 01/04/2014 21:56

I didn't complain. Perhaps I should have. But I was in shock really. I didn't have any idea how long the after effects were going to last at the outset. 2 plus years in the end. The extent on the damage inside my lower bowel wasn't obvious to begin with. Afterwards it was like gun shots shooting up my bum. They think my coccyx was chipped too.i was embarrassed tbh. Then I had a botched surgical attempt amongst all the surgery which left me worse off. I wanted ds for so long I'm glad it was me that got hurt and not him. He's a little pickle of perfectness (even with a large head) Grin I may not have got anywhere anyway as with a home birth they make you sign a waver that you won't su. Little did I know she might not be bothered to show up though.

I would stress this was bad care and not typical . So don't go getting all worried about childbirth any of you.

PolytheneGirl · 01/04/2014 21:59

Anyway moving away from the doom and gloom DH just watched OBEM with me! Shock The only thing he said through the whole episode was "crikey!" about 20x

His face was a picture!! He's disappeared now?!?

MrsExtraOrdinary · 01/04/2014 22:04

Poly you are spot on there. That us exactly how I feel. I wouldn't favour a c section as I'm worried about the endo spreading. Which is what happened with dsis. And also 6 wks not driving will be tough. We also live in a 4 storey town house so stairs are a nightmare. It would be agony with c section I imagine. But I think perhaps I might need assisted delivery vaginally or maybe a v good mw who will stay with me throughout and not let me push until last minute. I didn't have any pain relief last time, I might go for the lot this time. I will be paying close attention to scan Shock and head size.

Of course it may all prolapse yes Sad but I'm bloody determined it won't with better consistent care. So strange as my pelvic floor I could crack a nut with! Blush

Viperama · 01/04/2014 22:09

Massive congratulations Jo Thanks
Great way to kick off the month, here's to a bfp everyday this month on this thread.
I'm 2 dpo and just want the next two weeks to roll on already. Will POAS earlier than my stats say as I ovulated 2 days earlier than I thought I would. TITH cd 9, 11, 12, 13. Ovulated cd12 with big ov cramps that eve. Bit worried as I got cramps bad last month and didn't conceive.
So who's POAS with me April 14th?

PolytheneGirl · 01/04/2014 22:15

MrsE I have to say, I don't know if I was very lucky but I was fine after my ELCS. I had to stay in for the standard 3days then once I was home I was fine, stairs and everything. I stopped taking all pain meds after 7 days. Didn't have a prob picking DS up or BF him. And I only had 3 days if light bleeding. I hope it all goes well for you this time Thanks

EnglishGirlAbroad · 01/04/2014 22:17

Bloody hell MrsE, you poor thing!! Glad your better now and prepared to fight for better care this time round.
I'm with poly, I think with anything health related you should fight tooth and nail to get the care you feel is appropriate. All too often things are left until it's too late.
Shocking that your mw was so shit! When I watch OBEM, it makes me seriously consider retraining and becoming a midwife! I know it must be really hard at times, but what an amazing job to be able to do

JonesSchool · 01/04/2014 22:19

So sorry to hear that lemon hugs for you
MrsE that sounds scary stuff, really interesting (if that's not too weird), I suppose we need to be aware of what can happen.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 01/04/2014 22:20

That's good to hear that poly. I always had heavy post partem bleeding for up to 16wks. So that sounds like a fab option. If I get as far as a bfp I'll consider myself extremely lucky and worry about the rest a day at a time. Fx for us all. Smile

JonesSchool · 01/04/2014 22:21

MissMrsMummy we might be cycle buddies x

MissMrsMummy · 01/04/2014 22:32

Hi Jones How are you doing? When's your bfp due? I'm not sure as I ov'd early but I think 11th. Hope you're well!

Hope you're ok Kitty x

JonesSchool · 01/04/2014 22:46

Good thank you MissMrsMummy feeling a lot more positive recently. How are you, have you ventured back to school? We have loads of applicants round for jobs for September and I want to shout at them and say ' don't do it, it's the worse job to have' but I silently smile and hope I won't be around too long after September. Completely nuts!
BFP is due 14th April so a few days after yours. Got to convince DH for one last go, although he's already complaining he's far too tired.
