Gingerbreadlady1 · 09/03/2014 21:24

english have you been eating it? Is it edible? Gonna go & google it now....

CagedMango · 09/03/2014 21:25

Good luck treacle-I gave it over an hour before dtd after taking it.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 09/03/2014 21:26

English, haha, still trying to get that pic out of my head! I hope you're joking, I've just chucked the core! Grin I might need to put me false teeth back in to get through a core! Shock

aenor · 09/03/2014 21:28

OK thanks ladies. Have just googled pineapple core and conception and found this site:

www.blossomclinic.net/2013/05/30/pineapple-and-embryo-implantation-ivf-success/

Here's a quote:

"The idea is to eat a whole pineapple, including the core, before and after the day of implantation.

"...The main nutrient in pineapple that may contribute to this effect is bromelain.

"...Like aspirin, bromelain can increase blood flow to the uterus via its action as a blood thinner and anticoagulant. It is also thought that using a blood thinner like aspirin can help women who have had repeat miscarriages, especially if they are also positive for phospholipid antibodies.

"...Conception and implantation require an intricate shift in the immune system, specifically a shift from TH1 immune cells to TH2. Basically, this means conception requires an anti-inflammatory shift. It is possible that bromelain helps with this shift which allows implantation to occur."

Sounds good, will definitely give it a try.

aenor · 09/03/2014 21:30

^ How would you know the day of implantation - really you'd have to start eating pineapple from the day of ovulation onwards just to make sure you cover the implantation date, right?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 09/03/2014 21:30

Blimey, apparently it helps implantation. I've had an early m/c so will add it to my ttc shopping basket.

Thanks english

Gingerbreadlady1 · 09/03/2014 21:32

The site I found recommended dividing a pineapple into 5 portions and eat a portion a day from ov, not before as it can affect cm.

Treaclepie19 · 09/03/2014 21:32

Definitely Mrs, although I think I would be wasting my time tonight as we did it this morning. Not sure about whether its best to do it as much as possible or spaced out.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 09/03/2014 21:32

Aenor and English I'm wading through the bin as I type! That'll serve me right, more haste, less speed MrsE! Blush

aenor · 09/03/2014 21:33

Have just been googling manuka honey - it seems to be anti-inflamatory too. See

www.kidspot.com.au/familyhealth/Healthy-Living-The-health-benefits-of-manuka-honey+6496+190+article.htm

And I'm guessing we need to eat dollops of it from ovulation to implantation as well, right?

Feeling like I'm getting somewhere!

SaRaRaRaRa · 09/03/2014 21:54

Not sure now much of the pineapple thing is a myth or not but I kind of have it a go this month - couldn't face eating the core but started guzzling cartons of fresh pineapple juice after ov!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 09/03/2014 21:58

This is the site I found...Put your teeth back in MrsExtra

missmrsmummy · 09/03/2014 22:03

kitty don't mind your question re: Dtd. We were much like you pre-ttc! Dtd was just a treat for school holidays! We have started doing it earlier in the day - after work or in the afternoons at weekend after someone (sorry poor memory) on here kindly recommended :-

Also, re: your box of BFPs, it reminds me of when I was younger and I had a box of tampons, towels and period advice leaflets that I used to look through, wishing for my periods to start. Oh how times have changed! I'd do anything to keep them away now! I think it's normal for you to look back at the sticks and it will help you process what's happened. Just do whatever you feel you need to do x

missmrsmummy · 09/03/2014 22:06

Oh Treacle I had pictured some kind of scrapbook that they were putting together got out for you and DH to look at, much like a wedding photo album! Was it just a book they had bought? Lol at my misunderstanding!

Re: vaginismus, is it possible to send direct messages on here as there are a few things I could tell you that helped me?

bellaboo88 · 09/03/2014 22:07

Sure I heard grapefruit juice somewhere too?

Thx whoever posted opksx100 for £9.69, I'll be stocking up :-) can I have front seat on May bus seen as I'm so early? Xx

missmrsmummy · 09/03/2014 22:09

Mango thanks for details. I think I will just have to hope for the best! We Dtd every day or every other day for a week and now all the lines are feint so fx we caught the right time. We have run out of steam (and enthusiasm) for Dtd now anyway.

Now for the waiting game, sigh!

missmrsmummy · 09/03/2014 22:19

Yes bella I've heard the same about grapefruit!

Treaclepie19 · 09/03/2014 22:21

Hehehe I wouldnt put it past them missmrs!

Yeah you can send direct messages :) at the top theres an inbox button :) would be really helpful!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 09/03/2014 22:28

Oh I'm flagging! Where's the matchsticks?! Dh is watching the top gear recording ....trying v hard not to fall asleep, while he's chuckling away....come on dh!!! Oh god, he's just come back from the freezer with lollies!!!! Ill be tapping my foot for some time Confused I'm tempted to go blow the cobwebs off the stockings!!! Dam I should have gone for the quicky earlier!!!

Treaclepie19 · 09/03/2014 22:30

Haha oh Mrs, hang on in there! :)

Think we are gonna leave it til tomorrow to let the swimmers restock... I dont know how much chance weve got with missing 3 days then getting solid sniley today. Oh well. Keep trying!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 09/03/2014 22:36

Fingers crossed this mornings antics was enough for you treacle! Wink We haven't dtd since Friday afternoon so I'm trying to stay focused! A can of red bull might help, but the caffeine might damage my pineappled egg! Grin dh thinks I've lost the plot!

Treaclepie19 · 09/03/2014 22:40

I keep bouncing between yes we should and no we shouldnt. This pain in my side is sharp though!
Will see where the mood takes us...
Haha I know the feeling Mrs, DH really thinks I've lost the plot. Especially when my bum is in the air and I'm pedalling like mad!!!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 09/03/2014 22:45

If you def can't dtd for the next few days I think I'd go for it tonight. I've resisted the green pom pom urge until now, but I'll get them out if it will help! Grin

aenor · 09/03/2014 22:58

Have just googled grapefruit and conception and found this old mumsnet thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/548854-grapefruit-juice-it-really-does-work/AllOnOnePage

Apparently it increases CM and helps the swimmers get to the egg.

So it looks like pre ovulation you should have a lot of grapefruit and post ovulation you should have a lot of pineapple and manuka honey.

ZippyBoo · 09/03/2014 23:03

Here's a question. I'm 11 dpo. I poas this morning and I didn't check it until a few minutes late. But there were two lines. One was faint but definitely there. I did another test but it was after breakfast, second wee of the day and there was no sign of another line. I'm assuming therefore it was evap. However, now I'm in bed I can't sleep as I can't stop wondering. Anyone else laying awake thinking about the morning poas?
