Over here...

tame in the end, no. But they diagnosed something on the HLA-C, some kind of incompatibility between me and DP and therefore possibly me and the baby. So they've recommended just 1 embryo transfer so it has more chance of survival, as if there were two, and one was incompatible I would lose both. tbh most of this has gone straight over my head and if you understand any of this, well done!

vallinnapod · 01/04/2014 11:49

It does get to that stage doesn't it nobeer. When I tlel people about the mutated MTHFR gene I sort of shrug and say no idea what it really means but this is what I am told to do Grin

starsandmoonandback · 01/04/2014 14:22

I've got my apt to discuss FET this arvo. Any questions I should ask? Thanks x

starsandmoonandback · 01/04/2014 14:23

How are you hear and nobeer? I know how hard the last part of the 2ww is....hang in there girls Smile

nobeer · 01/04/2014 14:26

Ooh blimey stars it's only the first of the 2ww! I've got 9 days to go (I'm not counting). Ask if you can have a natural FET. You have to go for more scans but it is much nicer imo. The only meds I'm taking is one crinone gel at night. No going on the pill, no stabby/stingy little fuckers. HIGHLY recommend!

starsandmoonandback · 01/04/2014 17:15

Thanks nobeer! My consultant won't do natural for over 37 year olds!!! But at least he won't give me evil buserilin! He says I'll have oestrogen pills then progesterone after transfer. So guess that's medicated?! I will have the scratch at end of next cycle and then start on day 1/2 of the next one! Please let my frostie thaw and please let it be the one. Pleeeeeease!

Sorry I thought you were in your second week of the 2ww Sad

I meant 'bear' not hear in my last message btw.

nobeer · 01/04/2014 17:55

stars what a meanie! I suppose with only the pills you could call it a semi medicated cycle Grin

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 01/04/2014 18:28

Hi everyone

Sorry I'm not really managing to keep up with the thread as I'm still mentalling over the lack of AF. I'm 8 days late now. I've had sore boobs and slight back ache for nearly a week which I normally get a day or two before AF. I'm starting to worry that they've messed me up by removing too much of my lining.

Stars great news on starting soon Smile I really hope this is your one too x

Bugs and Bad lovely to see you and hear things are going well. Good luck for your scan Bugs. I can only imagine how stressful it is once you get that BFP x

LOL Beetle...I am more shagpile than lino for a change Grin

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 01/04/2014 19:16

No chance of a miracle BFP I'm afraid but that didn't stop me from wasting a CBD at 3am this when I couldnt sleep Blush

Ooh Val I missed your post. Great news on your luxurious womb carpet Grin

vallinnapod · 01/04/2014 20:15

Cups I nearly peed on a stick the other day despite it having to be the immaculate conception Blush

Not exactly luxurious...just less budget than previously!

Turquoisetamborine · 02/04/2014 06:22

Eeek you are very naughty Cups! CBDs are only to be purchased when you are sure in this house. When I do eventually get pregnant I'm looking forward to buying one.

I haven't tested since Sunday. Two days til OTD now.

resipsa · 02/04/2014 09:00

Morning all.

Sorry that I've been AWOL. The cancellation hit harder than I anticipated. Poor DH - I was in a truly foul mood for days, not helped I am sure by the hormone 'fiddling' which was an inevitable consequence. Now off all pills and waiting (again) for AF. Sigh. Earliest week for ET for me now will be the week after Easter.

Anyway, how are we all doing?

Nobeer - pleased that your ET went ahead as planned and smoothly. Don't envy you the 2WW though! Hope you are doing OK.

Tame - hello! It's great that your DE journey is all systems go. Hoping for the best for you! I was so happy when our DE cycle worked (even if it didn't last) that the DE bit didn't really register!

Oops - work calls - will catch up with the rest of you later!

I'm a bit menkully today. Feeling a bit ragey/PMTish.

Right, back to work to distract myself!

tametortie · 02/04/2014 14:02

Here is a quick rundown of what we are paying for donor egg treatment in Zlin;

Full donor egg cycle including drugs, assisted hatching, semen analysis, donor costs etc; €4500

Picsi; €200
Embryoscope ; €200
Intralipid infusion; €100

Flights; £300 with parking
4 star hotel, b&b basis- hotel is attached to clinic so no associated travel costs in between appointments; approx £650 with extra bed for DD.

Success rates at the clinic are 70% for positive pregnancy test and 58% for clinical confirmation (? Heartbeat on scan)

HTH xxx

vallinnapod · 02/04/2014 15:21

Shock wow tame....serious consideration here...do they do own eggs?

vallinnapod · 02/04/2014 18:31

nobeer the second I think 'oh, I am nice and calm...I lose it the next hour' this process messes with your perception of everything and on top of that we are on ridiculously powerful drugs that send our hormones nuts. Savour the calm times and be kind to yourself in the mental moments.

Res I think most of us completely under estimate the toll this takes on us. I did my FET last Feb not particularly bought in to it. DS was only just 18 months but I felt I should get going again in case it took a while (good job there Hmm). When we got our BFN I was utterly devastated. More so because I didn't think I was fussed. You'll be back cycling soon.

tametortie · 02/04/2014 19:23

Val- here is the price list. Success rates obviously vary with own egg- 48% success rate.

I was out and about at work today and the girl I was with is very aware of my fertility ishoos and is sooooo lovely about it. She said when I get pregnant she will get me an orla keilly changing mat and bag.
I've decided that if people ask (as in close people, not joe bloggs) I will just tell them.

I'm proud of what we are about to do Smile

Big chunk of that message missing....

She asked what was going on with us and I told her about the donor treatment and she thought it was great! Grin

Get the pissing gist??!!!!

vallinnapod · 02/04/2014 19:36

Damn right Tame women (and men) who go through this are fucking warriors with bugger all to be anything other than proud about!

tametortie · 02/04/2014 19:40

We are stronger than we give ourselves credit for x

I am about to partake in an Aldi cherry and custard pie. I'm so excited!!

vallinnapod · 02/04/2014 20:14

I've polished off a Mars bar and am now eyeing up the Dairy Milk Bubbly.

tametortie · 02/04/2014 20:43

I've eaten 2 thirds of that bad boy Blush

nobeer · 02/04/2014 20:49

tame that pie sounds amazing. Have the last third for me!
