Over here...

So sorry MaryP Hmm Hugs xx

Bearsandhoney · 23/03/2014 08:35

Moon: I realise my message might have sounded harsh: 'not tried at all' ... Clearly you have tried and with your circumstances it's not been easy. I meant that if you are considering to try again but didn't, you may regret that. Hope I wasn't insensitive. It's your decision and your life.

Maryp: hope you're ok this morning. Sending you hugs. X

eurochick · 23/03/2014 09:08

moon only you know how you are feeling, but I'd be inclined to wait until July based on what you have posted here. Your last cycle took an incredible physical and mental toll on you. Could you use the intervening months to get mr moon's head around being more supportive this time? (Because frankly he made the last cycle far harder on you than it needed to be.)

AFM, I'd like a surprise. Mr euro would find out, but says that I get to win on this one as I have been through so much. Thanks for all the lovely good wishes. I mostly lurk on here these days, but I am still commiserating with the BFNs, cheering the BFPs and willing on those who are cycling. x

nobeer · 23/03/2014 10:59

Moon I agree with euro. Your DH needs to get his act together for the next cycle, so maybe you could get some kind of couples counselling between now and July.

WannabeMaryPoppins · 23/03/2014 12:05

Hello everyone thank you so much for your support. As you can imagine yesterday was extremely difficult to get through. Today is easier but far from being ok. Mr P &I have decided that we need a proper break from ivf & will start thinking about a new cycle over the summer. In the meantime we are going to get back to RL & use the time to heal physically & mentally.
Good luck to all of you who are PUPO or who are about to be. Sending you all lots of positive vibes, truly hoping that your dreams come true.

moggle · 23/03/2014 12:47

MaryP I am really sorry to read your news. I think a break can only be a good idea; the same for moon too. moon July seems like an age away but it'll be here before you know it. To have gone through a full cycle twice in 4 or 5 months is a lot to ask of your body especially with the diabetes as well. And I can only echo what euro said about your "D"H (or is it DP- sorry that I can't remember).

Bearsandhoney · 23/03/2014 15:00

Maryp: taking a step back will do you good I am sure. I hope that you begin to feel much better soon.

AFM: The embryologyists called, of the 8 eggs they retrieved, 7 were able to be ICSI'd and 5 have fertilised. It's not as much as I had hoped (and less than last time at this stage). I am hoping that they all continue and start dividing so we can get to the stage where we can do the PGS.

I'm feeling low. Guess I shouldn't be as for some this would be a good result but I am feeling the pressure as this is probably our last attempt (according to DH it is definitely the last go) and feel like all my hopes of having another baby are in that lab. The embryologist said 'well you do have some in ice to fall back on' ... But we have forked out for a fresh cycle to get better fresh ones. Argh!

How is everyone's day? No beer, res, turq?

Turquoisetamborine · 23/03/2014 18:23

Bears that's an excellent result, you've no need to be disappointed.

Moon totally understand you needing a break. You've been through a lot.

Hi Euro exciting times for you. I wouldn't find out what I was having if I were you. Some people announce everything but the weight in advance now!

I'm trying not to google a lot and just try and forget things for a while or this 2ww is going to be torturous. I've been out for Sunday lunch today with my mother in law and we told her about the IVF mostly because my H says she might chip in for another round (loaded) if we need it. I don't care, I have no shame. Hope you are all having a good weekend. Mary glad today was slightly better than yesterday.

resipsa · 23/03/2014 19:03

Hi Euro. I had to find out with DD but it's such a personal thing.

Bears - those are good numbers!

OP posts:
resipsa · 23/03/2014 19:06

Had to go to a calculator - 71.5% fertilisation rate is above average. Let's hope they all keep growing steadily but I know how you feel that it's all your eggs in one basket now (definitely no pun intended) so sympathise with your anxiety. Are you planning on ET on Day 5 if you get to it?

OP posts:
resipsa · 23/03/2014 19:07

MaryP - we'll miss you but good luck with real life (what's that again Wink?).

resipsa · 23/03/2014 19:09

Hi Moggle. We borrowed from my Mum. Felt bad to ask for something so objectively 'selfish' but she was happy to help and will no doubt be happier still if the investment pays off!

OP posts:
resipsa · 23/03/2014 19:10

Sorry, not Moggle, it was for Turq. Nice to see you though, Mogle!

OP posts:
Turquoisetamborine · 23/03/2014 20:23

Res I wouldn't feel guilty if she offered us money at all. She hasn't been a good mother and H basically supported himself from the age of 14 so I would class it as payback. Hope we won't need it anyway.

I am horrendously bloated and constipated two days after transfer. Anyone know what I can take to help this? I'm back to work tomorrow and might have to wear my onesie as it's the only thing that fits.

nobeer · 24/03/2014 10:49

oh turq I remember that feeling! someone on here, maybe fab, recommended bicarb in a glass of water.

Turquoisetamborine · 24/03/2014 11:05

I'll try that. Already had one colleague asking if I'm pregnant as so big!

nobeer · 24/03/2014 12:34

My MIL did the same! Drink loads of water.

time2deal · 24/03/2014 17:27

Just delurking to say to bears that I had those exact figures in January, and I'm 12 weeks pregnant now. It really only takes one. :)

Turquoisetamborine · 24/03/2014 17:39

Here's a tip from anyone suffering from bloating and constipation from the cyclogest.

Drink three cartons of fresh orange juice and a litre of water, have beans on toast for lunch. Then run home mid conversation with colleagues. Luckily I live very close to work!

Turquoisetamborine · 24/03/2014 17:39

Congrats timetodeal was that your first ivf?

Bearsandhoney · 24/03/2014 19:23

71% fertilisation rate doesn't sound so bad res, and I know it can only take one. I have got it into my head that there is something more going on than we have been diagnosed with so had hoped that we would have more to 'play with' but do agree that it's not such a bad result. We will do a day 6 transfer as the embryo's will be having PGS and that means a day 6 transfer (assuming they get there that is!).

Time2deal: that's lovely that you're 12 weeks, congratulations! You must be thrilled. Was that your first round of IVF?

Turq: feeling bloated and bunged up is just horrible. Hope you're feeling relief now! My tum is still as round as a barrel after stims and EC... Just lovely! It's a a pleasure to get home and straight into my biggest/comfiest PJ's.

I've had another call today and the 5 that fertilised having started dividing and are looking good. They didn't call till nearly 3, I was pretty desperate to hear news by that stage!

Hi to everyone, hope you've had good Monday. X

resipsa · 24/03/2014 20:01

Hi Time. You were another of the loonngg run of BFPs on here. Glad all is well and congrats again!

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 24/03/2014 20:22

Hi ladies, I have taken a break from the thread, been away and am back and in the saddle.

Last day of the pill today. Had my scratch this morning. Had to clamp my cervix (Shock ouch!) as I have a mobile uterus (who knew....)

Period should be here on Weds with drugs for the FET starting on Friday.

here we go.

I have tried and failed to catch up so I have no idea of BFPs/Ns etc so big love to all.

vallinnapod · 24/03/2014 21:01

Hey time congrats!! How is it going? Are you going to be cercelaged (sp?!) any time soon?

time2deal · 24/03/2014 22:49

vallin Cerclage is on Friday!! Trans abdominal so I'm off work for a month recovering. Pretty scary thing to do mid pregnancy, but no chance of getting anywhere near term without it. I'm also waiting for downs test results on Thursday that I'm stressing about.

bears, turq It was sort of my first ivf. I'd had two before but the first was just to create some embryos before treatment for cervical cancer. Then the second one they didn't put the embryos back as they found my cervix was blocked up. So I have lots of 1 day frozen embryos! The third was a fresh cycle but was nhs which is why I didn't use the frozen embies.

Good luck all.
