Natty, I was so nervous before my first scan on clomid. I didn't feel any different at all, and was so scared I would go in and find it wasn't working. It was a great relief to see a big juicy follicle when I got there I hope your scan is just as effective.
coggy - I was interested when you said your AF seems shorter with clomid - I think mine is shorter as well (but the bleeding is heavier on the days I do bleed!).
I've been quiet recently, so thought it was about time for an update. I'm taking a break from the clomid this month, having now taken it for 6 months. DH and I reached frustration point with the NHS, and paid to have a private consultation. This was with the same consultant we are under with the NHS, so we had a great conversation about what the options were for NHS treatment, and what could be done privately.
It came as a huge shock to me to discover that in my PCT the treatment would be to take the clomid for up to 1 year, and then go on the waiting list for IVF. Nothing in-between! And I can't go on the IVF waiting list until we've been trying for 2 years, and the waiting list is at least 2 years long. At 35 now, I would be 38 before starting IVF, and wouldn't have a child before 39.
So we're going down the private treatment route. Next cycle I'll be doing clomid with IUI. I'm also going to get another CD21 blood test to check my prog levels. If that doesn't work out we'll talk to the consultant about what happens next.
Hugs,
Artoo.
