The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Triple hope you're not in too much pain and thinking of you - horrible though this is at least you may not wait too long.

Littlelady33 · 12/03/2014 17:28

Cake sorry to hear that you've had this terrible news. I can only speak from personal experience but I was in your position - 10 weeks but the pregnancy only lasted 6.5. I had some light bleeding for a few days but it showed no signs of worsening so opted for ERPC as I wasn't sure I could cope with natural MC either mentally or physically. Was also worried I may go through that only to still need an ERPC in the end. Completely your choice and I hope you have good support and medical advice but I'd say for me the ERPC was physically painless, (under general of course but I felt fine afterwards) with only light bleeding for a few days.

Sundance2007 · 12/03/2014 17:31

Thanks for the support ladies - sorry if I sound like a total stress-head-knob, I had a nice long walk with the dog this afternoon and had a word with myself; got quite a lot of work done too so maybe thats where I should be throwing my attentions. I hate being such a worrier.

Triple - sounds like it might be starting, and there are literally no words! I just hope you've got someone with you to hold your hand in those in between moments. It's so, so unfair.

Gail - I never used to get ov pain until after my 1st mc. I also had the occasional burst of belated blood post mc nearly 4 weeks later, but I don't remember there being any pain with it. Can you get to an Ov stick?

Never heard of femara Carly - just googled it though and Id have to say I'd be wary of buying that on the internet without consulting a doc first.

Sundance2007 · 12/03/2014 17:33

x-post. So sorry to hear your news Cake

tannyLoo · 12/03/2014 17:33

Triple sorry and relieved at the same time. We're here for you. It truly is shitbuckets that you're going through this.

You asked about us ttc again. We're on a 3 month break while we wait for blood tests and to give my body a chance to recover. Feels like a long time but I don't want to ttc again until I have some proper answers.

I just like hanging out here. It's more fun and honest than most!

broodylicious · 12/03/2014 17:34

Welcome cakebaker so sorry to hear of your loss. Doubly so with twins Hmm I hope you have lots of RL support but it's a mega friendly bunch of ladies in here so I hope we can help you through too xxx

triple sorry to hear your bleeding has started. Like sebs has said though, at least you don't have to live in limbo land for two weeks xx

Btw, have you noticed there's two bloody weeks wait for nearly everything in this ridiculous game?!

Hope carly has had a better day today xx

Cakebaker35 · 12/03/2014 17:45

Thank you all and so sorry to hear other people going through this too. I guess I'll wait until Monday to see what's what and then make some decisions then. I'll keep lurking here if that's ok as hopefully at some point I'll feel brave enough to ttc again. X

Metalhead · 12/03/2014 17:47

Sorry to hear your news triple, but at least you're not in limbo any longer. I hope the mc itself isn't too painful and is over quickly. Take care of yourself. Thanks

Also so sorry for your loss Cake, I hope we can help you at least a little bit to get through this. For me, the erpc was also quick and relatively painless and I only had a little light bleeding for about a week afterwards. Mind you, I had already passed the sac and most of the placenta etc. at home a couple of days before while waiting for my appointment, but then a scan showed there was still some retained tissue so I had to have the erpc anyway... Angry As Little said, there is no guarantee that you'll pass everything naturally, and I just wanted it over and done with as quickly as possible. (Though there is also a small chance of retained tissue with erpc.) Hope that helps a bit in making your mind up.

broodylicious · 12/03/2014 17:47

I stood on the scales this morning. SEVEN fricking pounds heavier than six weeks ago BlushBlushBlush I have been caning the cakes and sweets so shouldn't be a surprise but I did scream out anyway! Naturally, I did what any fatty does and shoved a jacket potato with Stilton (least I can have that now!) and bacon down my throat at lunch!! Delish.

In other broody news, I haven't bled for five hours. This is a major development! Although think I have to wait a bit longer til I can ditch my period pants...

miserywaterfall · 12/03/2014 17:50

Can only echo what's already been said before now, but thinking of you triple x

Welcome cakebaker and so sorry for your loss Sad I opted for the surgical method as I just wanted it to be over with asap and couldn't have dealt with a natural mc at that time. The op went well with only tiny drops of bleeding afterwards, and pain was gone within 4 days. I hated the idea of waiting for it to happen naturally (I found out at 12 week scan, having had no bleeding or negative symptoms) and knew it could take a while if left to end naturally. Only you can decide what you want to do, but I have never once regretted it not 'experiencing' it and I did wonder pre-surgery if I might.

Triplespin · 12/03/2014 17:52

cake so sorry to hear your news. We are all hear for you, the ladies on this forum are amazing. Not sure how I would have managed the past 8 months without the support. Regarding erpc versus natural I have been asking the same question. I think it varies by person. I imagine since you were 10 weeks, natural mc may be a lot more painful and so it may be best to opt for an erpc. Really though everyone has a different opinion.

Thank you everyone. I am unfortunately on my own tonight (dh at work). But DS is keeping me distracted and I am just thinking how lucky I am to have him at least in my life.

Fairypants · 12/03/2014 18:05

Hi [waves]
I'm just popping in to share some posifrickentivity. If any of you remember, I had the first BFP on this thread this year after a mc at 10 weeks in September. Anyway, I've had my 12 week scan and everything's looking good and we're starting to think its all going to be ok this timeSmile
I wanted to say thank-you to all the lovely ladies who gave me such support and encouragement in my dark days. I know hearing about grads who are doing well made the end look a bit more attainable.

I also have a selection of ttc paraphernalia to pass on if anyone wants it (no syringes though). I have lots of sticks (ov and pg) and a full pack of conceive plus tubes which I never quite got up the courage to use. Pm me if you want them.

Anyway, wishing you all sticky beans and an easy road from here on.

miserywaterfall · 12/03/2014 18:09

Congrats Fairy So glad your 12 week scan went well, hoping for a thoroughly uneventful and easy pregnancy for you Smile

CakesALot · 12/03/2014 18:24

Welcome cake, so so sorry for your loss. I had a ERPC 3 weeks ago as I couldn't handle waiting any longer. But then I'd only had a little spotting up to that point. It was relatively painless and certainly quick. I only bled a little for a couple of days too. But every experience is different so get the advice and pick what you think is right for you. Everyone here will support you Smile

I think I may have ovulated in the passed day or so-the aforementioned ovulation eyes have stopped roaming now and the EWCM levels have dropped. So awaiting the arrival of AF now. Might actually be pleased to see her!

miserywaterfall · 12/03/2014 18:37

I have total ovulation eyes today! Was perving on lots of guys at college Wink

Anyone else who never gets EWCM? I get the sorta watery sticky stuff but never anything like EW. Ewww.

Penguin13 · 12/03/2014 18:39

Triple so sorry your bleeding started. I hope it is over as quickly and painlessly (at least physically) that it can be.

Cake I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope that having a place to come to where you can talk to people who really understand will help you through the dark times.

I had a mmc around 6 weeks diagnosed at my 13 week scan and chose to have an ERPC which was the right decision for me. In my case I'd had no bleeding and couldn't face more weeks of waiting. It was a quick and fairly painless procedure. I did have painful cramps for the next day or so but probably only slightly worse than severe period cramp and was quite knocked out by the general anaesthetic but would make the same choice having been through it.

Cakebaker35 · 12/03/2014 18:47

Thank you all for being so lovely, sebs was right about this thread being a very nice place indeed Smile

triple sorry to hear you're on your own this evening, I highly recommend Cake in massive quantities and some rubbish tv to take your mind off things.

Fairy congratulations, it is good to hear good news and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Wishing you a calm and in eventful pregnancy.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 12/03/2014 18:56

Echoing what others have said Triple, I'm sorry the bleeding has started. I hope it passes quickly and painlessly. Sending you big hugs.

Cakebaker - I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you have lots of support in real life there to look after you. I can't help with wether or not to have the erpc. Mine happened naturally. But I think if I was further along in the pregnancy and had the choice I would go for it. At least then it's over and done with and you can start to at least try to look forward.

Penguin13 · 12/03/2014 18:56

Fairy hooray for your good news and thank you for coming back to share it with us. So glad everything is going well for you. May your remaining pregnancy months be as dull and uneventful as can be.

GailLondon · 12/03/2014 19:02

Welcome cakebaker , sorry that you have found yourself here in this situation. I can't give advice on erpc unfortunately, I had the medical management option (at 12 weeks).
Let us know how you get on over the next few days xx

Carly6971 · 12/03/2014 19:02

triple so sorry to hear youtpr sad news :( hugs

cakebaker so sorry you have also found yourself here :,( but on the up side everyone here is lovely and knows what you are going through, and these ladies really can be a tower of strength when you need them to be :)

fairy amazing news :) congratulations :)

As for me another awful day, my friends baby is a total beaut but every time she posts a pic of her i cry for mine :,( just got to accept this
Is going to be a hideous week i think, feels like I have gone right back to square one, with the total empty heartbroken feeling and constant crying. Oh well life goes on I guess and I will get through this :) hope everyone else is ok :) x

Viperama · 12/03/2014 19:07

POAS didn't get result we were after today. I remember when we tried in January I got a negative and only tested positive when I tested 16dpo. Today is 9dpo, so I'm going to sit on my hands until next Friday unless the ugly witch rears her head b4. I don't feel preggers though so not holding too much hope.

If I'd a wish and it couldn't be world peace or similar I'd wish we could all just have the babies we all desperately want.

miserywaterfall · 12/03/2014 19:12

Carly I honestly feel the same this week, like I am back to where I was a week after my surgery and feeling empty and heartbroken. It just seems to have hit me all over again, even though it will be 7 weeks tomorrow. Sigh, hopefully we can shake ourselves out of it soon.

Booo, sorry Viper Will keep everything crossed for you for a BFP next week!

Littlelady33 · 12/03/2014 19:14

Viper sorry to hear that but it isn't over until the witch arrives and at 9dpo it's not uncommon to have a negative but test pos later on. Fx for Friday!

Carly6971 · 12/03/2014 19:23

viper that's a lovely wish! started me of again lol :) fingers crossed for next Friday for you :) sure 9dpo is just too early and hopefully next Friday will bring you the good news you're waiting for :) x
