Trying for DC2 and on my first cycle. Unexpectedly fell straight away with DD so sort if expect that now, but doubt I'll be so lucky. Been at it all weekend and should be ovulating around now.....hopefully (not using a kit - are they any good?). Anyways, any other impatient folk out there in similar boat?? What to do.....? I'm already exhausted with property porn!!

How are you ladies doing!? with my 1st I had severe cramps 5dpo - that'll be tmw so seeing what happens? I feel thicker around the middle - Is that possible? so reading too much into this! Shock

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 18/02/2014 21:05

Elle I'm lying in the sofa as we speak with a hot water bottle trying to help severe cramps!!! I'm 6dpo today. This is completely not normal for me I only get cramps on the first and second day of period. I can't be making this up!! I just hope all this pain is going to give me good news in 9 days time!

urterriblemuriel · 18/02/2014 22:13

Blimey, I've learnt so much from you guys! I never realised such things as those charts existed, nor that your body temperature goes up if your pregnant. If I need to try for a while to fall, I think I'll give them a go too.

Livingthegoodlife - you make me feel so much better about also wanting to have a break in case it's an Xmas baby. Do we have one more month and then break?

Oooh, all of this cramping is looking positive! I'm still nauseous and not suffering from pmt yet. May try a cheaply test in the am as I much be approaching 10 dpo I think.

Night!

ooh sounds positive Emily!! Grin

ElleOhElle · 18/02/2014 22:58

good luck with your test Muriel

Cineraria · 18/02/2014 23:49

Zermatt, your point about self preservation makes a lot of sense. It's easy to get so caught up in it that it seems the only important thing.

I have to say I like the charts; at the end of the month I know I've done my best rather than wondering if there was something I'd missed but I can understand that not using them might feel more relaxed. The temperature rise is connected with ovulation Urterriblemuriel although I think it rises again for some people following implantation but not everyone. Good luck with your test tomorrow!

I can understand why you and Livingthegoodlife would want a gap to avoid a Christmas baby but I don't think we'll be doing that. I'm getting on a bit and don't feel I should waste even a month! My brother arrived Christmas week and we always tried to have a party for him before the school holidays started so all his friends would still be around and even now my mum makes an effort to make his birthday a separate celebration.

Zermatt · 19/02/2014 00:36

Good luck for tomorrow URterriblemurriel.

I won't give next month a miss either, don't mind if it's a Christmas baby and at 33 I also feel like i am better off cracking on with things :)

So 11 Dpo today and an even bigger temp drop, so 3 days of consecutive dips, defo think AF is on its way. I agree it's good to know you did everything you could.

NewlymrsB · 19/02/2014 09:47

Morning ladies!!
I have too thought about timing of baby being born. Really wanted to fall this month to avoid Xmas and then my hubby has 2 sons in jan/feb.

I'm not feeling too hopeful as it's only 2nd month in. Just wish I knew one way or other!!

Xx

urterriblemuriel · 19/02/2014 11:56

Lol, as others have said - we should be able to know straight away!

BFN this am but maybe a bit early - will keep trying daily and then will watch out for AF Sunday night!

Hope everyone is ok - my Friday at work today as in only mon to wed, yay! :)

OP posts:
livingthegoodlife · 19/02/2014 12:55

urterriblemuriel - i think this is the last try for us to avoid an xmas baby. it would be due very end of october. the next 'baby' would be due the very end of november/early december so we are going to miss that one. we also would prefer no jan baby. i know we should be grateful for what we get and i completely understand why some of you are happy for any baby but im not so sure.

what really scares me is that if we are not successful then we might not have a thrid baby. basically if we have a break, then the gap between no.2 and no.3 gets bigger and i dont want the third one to be left out too much.

i'll cross that bridge when i come to it. we might have to have one more cycle!!

those of you with cramping - sounds good to me! with my first preg it was so strong i called the doc as i was worried something was wrong!!! lol. just implantation! good luck.

im pretty certain im out. major PMT etc here.

Cineraria · 19/02/2014 13:44

Hoping we'll all be lucky this month, of course, but if not I'll miss those of you who aren't trying next month. You've all been really good company and stopped me going completely mad with impatience!

My app has Friday as the best test day and I can't believe it's come round so quickly now after the time seemed to be dragging early last week. I've looked into the type of strips I got and it seems they probably aren't worth trying earlier than that. Anyway, AF will probably provide a clear answer beforehand as the app seems to have predicted a slightly longer than average cycle this month but if not I'll test then.

NewlymrsB · 19/02/2014 15:27

I hope this cramping is a good sign although I'm not so sure! Had it for 3 days now it's cd28 and 7dpo. Not really sure on cycle length so I just cross my fingers and pray that at doesn't show every time I go to the bathroom!!

ElleOhElle · 19/02/2014 16:21

hope you get a BFP Next time you test Muriel. I've just bought some tests but not showing any signs so don't think I'm going to get s positive this time. Can do an early test on Monday - not sure if I want to try and wait - taking ages though and it's only been a few days!! Shock

NewlymrsB · 19/02/2014 18:29

If AF doesn't show before hand I'm going to test next wed I'll be 14 dpo then. Have a feeling she is going to show as now have back ache to accompany the cramps ????

Zermatt · 20/02/2014 03:30

I've really enjoyed chatting to everyone too and really hope/wish that we all get a BFP and can move to another board together!

I'm feeling a bit flat today, 12dpo, had funny left ovary pain yesterday and my stomach/uterus area is making noises like AF is acoming. I am too scared to test as am expecting a BFN and I'd rather stay in denial for a couple more days.

NewlymrsB · 20/02/2014 07:54

zermatt it's not over until AF shows her ugly face!! I definitely think I'm out this cycle. My temp seems to be falling and I just feel like AF is getting ready for her visit :( :( :( :(

Hazelbrowneyes · 20/02/2014 10:19

Hi all, I'm pretty much in the middle of the 2ww. I'm not charting or using OPKs so I'm just going on my body!

If I go by last months cycle (28 days) then BFP is due on Tuesday, however I'm pretty sure I ovulated 2-3 days later so I'm now counting BFP as due on 28th.

Last month I convinced myself I was pregnant - lots of cramps, nausea, sore boobs...I just felt pregnant. Now I realise these were all PMS symptoms Grin This month I've had cramps but not like last month and sore boobs have started today. I'm pretty sure I'm out this month despite DTD at the right times. I just don't feel like it's my month.

I have this niggling feeling that this will take us a while so I don't think we'll stop trying over the next month or two. A winter baby would work better for us anyway and I'm a December baby and you just get used to it. I couldn't imagine having my birthday at any other time in the year - I love the fact that it's always been part of the lead up to Christmas!

When are you all going to test? I'm being v. good and I've made the decision not to test until 3-4 days after AF is due. I don't want to test before as I'd hate to see a BFP and then find out it was a chemical pregnancy.

Zermatt · 20/02/2014 10:41

Thanks Newly, am secretly keeping my FX although it does feel a lot like AF on her broomstick cackling in my general direction. I'm expecting it to start tonight or tomorrow, FF says AF is due on Sat but I think it'll be here before then, so I know how you feel. BUT, we just don't know really do we? So we should both just keep our hopes up for the time being and remember that PMS and early pregnancy feelings/symptoms are remarkably similar!

I feel similar to you Hazel and wish I was being more positive about things. Last month I did a great job or tricking myself into thinking I was pregnant. Maybe that's making us more cautious this month? I also won't test until the day after AF is due, for same reasons so Saturday or Sunday.

I think a December baby would be lovely. I'd get them a Santas little helper baby grow :)

Zermatt · 20/02/2014 14:36

Nope I am in fact out, AF just started, only a 26 day cycle for me this month, so that's odd. Good luck everyone else x

Cineraria · 20/02/2014 15:13

So sorry to hear that Zermatt. I was really going you'd get good news. I often find my cycle is shorter (25/26 days) when I've been DTD a lot and was expecting to have the same thing after SMEP this month but it's now day 29 which is what Fertility Friend thought this month, so I will probably be in the same situation tomorrow. I got a BFN this morning and think it would show by now if it was good news.

At least the short cycle means a chance to try again sooner. Hope it's third time lucky (it will be your third cycle, won't it?) for you, so you get that special delivery in before Christmas and that you can think of a few nice things to do this weekend during AF that you wouldn't do when TTC.

x

ElleOhElle · 20/02/2014 15:23

ah sorry to hear that - 3rd time lucky! I'm still feeling nothing so think I'm out but hoping for a nice surprise Wink

Hazelbrowneyes · 20/02/2014 15:44

So sorry Zermatt Sad

Zermatt · 20/02/2014 15:55

Ah thanks you lovely people, I really hope that you all get your BFP's this month or if not the next. It's been really nice to have somewhere to chat honestly about all the stuff that goes through your mind (and your body)!

Cineraria, so sorry about your BFN, hope that you still might be in with a chance for this cycle, but if not then you do the same, enjoy the time to do things you otherwise might not be doing, and just relax in the bit where we don't have to be thinking about ovulating or dtd for babies, or whether that cramping leg and sore throat are just cramping legs and sore throats or real life bone fide pregnancy symptoms!

I've already ordered some preseed and will be purchasing a whole stack of multivitamins to tackle cycle 3 with. And in the meantime tomorrow I have lined myself a date with a large glass of red wine and big plate of Stilton and crackers xx

livingthegoodlife · 20/02/2014 20:14

feeling really sad this evening. bad cramps and af due on saturday. i can pretty much guarantee im not preg. and im gutted.

i have no positivity about trying again. i just feel like its not going to happen and im going to just have my 2 kiddies.

i cant put down in words how sad i feel.

Cineraria · 20/02/2014 22:31

Enjoy the wine & Stilton then Zermatt and I'll look forward to my giant coffee when AF shows up. Funny, I just got cramp in my foot as I was reading your post and thought "Oooh, I didn't know that might be a symptom! Let me note it on the app" before giving myself a stern talking to.

Livingthegoodlife, it's such a horrible feeling when you think it might not happen (I was feeling the same on Sunday and wishing so much that I'd met DH a few years earlier so we'd have had time on our side) but I hope the feeling will pass soon and you'll feel more positive about trying again if you're not lucky this time.
