Trying for DC2 and on my first cycle. Unexpectedly fell straight away with DD so sort if expect that now, but doubt I'll be so lucky. Been at it all weekend and should be ovulating around now.....hopefully (not using a kit - are they any good?). Anyways, any other impatient folk out there in similar boat?? What to do.....? I'm already exhausted with property porn!!

Yes, makes you feel lucky that we have all the knowledge we have today and don't have the same pressure that historic queens did to produce heirs. I can imagine others too: Henry the Eighth's wives discussing gender selection techniques for one and poor Queen Anne with Eighteen pregnancies but no surviving heir.

Did your book say anything interesting so far? If nothing else, it will be something to take your mind off the wait and planning what to do next time is a good way to stop worrying about whether you'll need a next go.

I'm feeling generally yucky today, like being hungover and finding it hard to tell myself that probably means nothing and doesn't mean it's a good idea to test early! As my BBT has shot up by .7 of a degree, it's most likely to mean I'm going down with a bug.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 15/02/2014 18:40

I'm only od+3 and I really don't know how I am going to wait another 11 days to test yay or nay!! How do you guys keep your minds off of it? And it's only my first time trying god forbid if it doesn't happen this month! The funny thing is is that 6 years ago I got pregnant from a broken condom and took the morning after pill and still ended up pregnant!! I didn't realise how 1 in a million chance it was that an egg was there ready at the time!! I had to terminate the pregnancy as had only been seeing the fella a few weeks and was only 18 but now I am in a very loving relationship of 5.5 years and very much ready :)

livingthegoodlife · 15/02/2014 22:30

i think most of us keep busy by chatting on here! if its your first you can always research baby equipment and do some mental shopping!

i am majorly crampy today so im hoping that is a good sign.

will test again tomorrow, i love those ebay cheapies!! ha ha

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 16/02/2014 19:05

where are you in your cycle livingthegoodlife? i have been really crampy and i am only 4dpo and i never get cramps through the month unless first/second day of period.

Cineraria · 16/02/2014 19:19

Looking forward to tomorrow's test update livingthegoodlife. Hope it gives you the news you want!

Yes Emily chatting on here is a good way to pass some time and make the two week wait less of a trial.

Urterriblemuriel, I watched that programme you suggested with DH last night. It's amazing. Thanks so much for recommending it! The ovulation bit was a bit gory for my tastes and I'm working on forgetting that part before next month but the it explains things so well and seeing what actually happens is fascinating. I always wondered how it takes the egg so long to reach the uterus but seeing how ridged and folded the lining of the fallopian tubes are made it make sense; before I'd always pictured them as smooth, like a vein. The statistics were interesting too, like half of fertilised eggs never even making the first cell division. No wonder it can take a number of attempts to have a baby!

I'm still having alternate days thinking I'll be lucky this month and then that I won't be. Yesterday I'd have put money on it but today I woke up thinking "No, there's no way it's happening!" and this evening I had slight spotting so I'm glad I was feeling like that really, or I'd have been really disappointed.

ElleOhElle · 16/02/2014 21:10

Can I join in!? On day 2 of tww for 2nd - not feeling too positive though!!

Cineraria · 16/02/2014 23:07

Hi ElleOhElle, the 2ww must seem even longer when the date falls in the next month. Good luck waiting it out. Why are you not feeling very positive?

Zermatt · 17/02/2014 01:58

Hiya ElleOhElle, FX for you having a BFP at the end of your 2ww, we're all here to help each other through all the symptom spotting! It's good to have this place to blow off some steam about it as I don't like to bore DH too much about every single thought/feeling/symptom I have, think he'd be fed up of ttc already if I did.

Urterriblemuriel, I watched that link too, thanks for that, it was fascinating, I cant get over how little I actually knew about fertility and my own body before I started on this ttc business, they really should make young girls more aware of their own biology.

Cineraria, so far I haven't learnt too much from the book, the author urges caution in trying vitamix and some of the other supplements, until you've been trying for a while as can lead to imbalances in your cycle if you are ovulating regularly, will let you know if I read anything else interesting. I did find this web page the other day which made me feel a bit better about all my PMS symptoms, and might explain why we both had a dip early on in our DPO.

www.amandabears.com/faq.html

I'm 9dpo today, and 24 days into my cycle, and all symptoms apart from soreish boobs have gone.

ElleOhElle · 17/02/2014 08:31

Hi, I don't know, maybe I'm thinking about it too much! fell instantly with #1 and new after a few days! Good luck to everyone x

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 17/02/2014 08:56

For some reason I am really excited to say I am 5dpo!! I've made it 5 days and stayed relatively sane!! I'm itching to test even though I know it won't show anything! Is it possible I might have ovulated earlier during my fertile period?! I'm clutching at straws!! Lol I have some eBay cheapies arriving soon hopefully, when's the earliest I can test?!

NewlymrsB · 17/02/2014 17:51

Emily I am also on 5dpo (I think anyway) really trying hard not to think about it but the days are going slow, on the plus side my house is spotless haha!
Are you going to test before af due?
I've inly had 2 cycles since coming off the pill first was 34 days 2nd was 30 days so don't really know when af is due!!

Congrats to those who got their bfp!! Xxx

ElleOhElle · 17/02/2014 18:37

This is taking ages - come on two weeks!!! I'm just looking for every little sign! wish I could just forget about it and be one of those people who don't know they're pregnant for 3 months!! Shock

urterriblemuriel · 17/02/2014 19:02

Welcome Elle, Emily and Zermatt! All impatient women welcome for a moan and natter! :)

Cineraria and Zermatt - really pleased you liked the video, it's definitely worth the watch. That lady is super confident - good on her for agreeing to be the subject. The image that stays in my mind is the cervix dipping in the sperm as one orgasms!!

Ordered the cheapy ebay tests last night, so hoping they are here tmrw. I drink quite a lot of water so may need to wait for my Wed morning wee to test so it's 'strong' - mmmmm nice. Still have a low level of nausea and period like pain, so not sure what to think. Surprisingly time has gone quicker than thought though.

Emily, I think some of the good ones might show up 4-5 days before missed period. So, perhaps try in 4/5 days??

Zermatt, I wonder if the loss of symptoms is your body getting used to that original hormone surge?

Cineraria, is it AF that's started? :(

Look forward to an update livingthegoodlife.

Happy Monday all!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 17/02/2014 19:23

4/5 days muriel?! - how? How I ask?! Lol waiting is really starting to bug me now!! I have a pain on the left side of my lady area - what could this be? I've had mild period style pain for a few days now but today it's much more on the left side and I could probably point to the exact 'spot' any ideas ladies?

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 17/02/2014 19:25

Elle I'm with you there!! Why can't I just go to the loo and have a baby and have been none the wiser!! Lol these are the longest two weeks of my life lol

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 17/02/2014 19:27

Newlymrsb a few ladies on here have got positive tests from about 9dpo so I might start then. My eBay cheapies arrived today I might have to get my other half to hide them!!!

NewlymrsB · 17/02/2014 20:46

Yes my cheapies are in a drawer just trying not to test to early as don't want to be disappointed! I'm having mild cramps this evening, I swore I wouldn't symptom spot...!!! Need the next week to hurry up!! Xx

RhiBee29 · 17/02/2014 21:18

Hi All

EBay cheapies due to arrive tomoro, trying to resist test until Thursday when I'll be 10dpo. My boobs are soooo sore today, the seatbelt in my car felt like a knife! Tryingto stay sane but symptom spotting like a loon!

Cineraria · 18/02/2014 01:02

Hi Zermatt, thanks for the information on the dip. It makes a lot of sense that the dip is not an implantation one as I've had it during cycles where I couldn't possibly be pregnant too, now that I look back on the previous ones but the mechanism is puzzling me. I thought the temperature rise is caused by progesterone being released from the Corpus Luteum as soon as ovulation occurs but this says it takes over only at 5dpo, so I don't know what's making it before that. I will have to look into it. the funny thing is I have a colleague who is an endocrinologist but can't ask him all the questions I have as it would really give the game away!

My symptoms have gone too. Our cycles seem fairly similar this month. Urterriblemuriel I like the idea that this could just be as the body adjusting to the changes going on but I really just don't feel it's happening for me anymore. I'm not really sure what the spotting means for me in terms of when AF will come as I never had it until I got a copper coil. I had it in for five years and had spotting for about half my cycle each month but that was its only downside for me, so I just switched to black undies and put up with it and the spotting seemed to reduce the proper AF from 7 days to 6 too, which was a plus. I only had it out a a few weeks ago to start trying so I have no idea when I should normally expect spotting now. It has come a lot later than it would have before. Hmm, that was probably more detail than you wanted! Sorry!

NewlyMrsB I've been cleaning too and all our wedding thank yous are finished at last too. Anything to keep busy!

Zermatt · 18/02/2014 02:37

I've had another dip today Cineraria, not sure what that means, not even sure if I am taking my temperature correctly either as I wake up quite a bit in the night, and often find it hard to get back to sleep, so sometimes I take it a bit earlier than other days, today I took it at 4.45am as if I waited until my alarm went off at 7am, I probably wouldnt have got back to sleep properly. Just realised I can share my chart, this is what it looks like this month [urlovufriend.com/graph/bab41c200752e1f3dc2c007ade27134d[/url]

I agree that the Corpus drop is confusing as I thought it happened immediately after ov as well. Again no symptoms today, I have that usual happy and content feeling I often get just before AF arrives, so am mentally preparing to see that within the next few days...

I hope that you get a clear idea of what is happening re the spotting as its the not knowing that is hardest I think.

NewlymrsB · 18/02/2014 10:07

So 6dpo my temp is higher (have forgotten to take it for a few days). Had a dream last night that I got my 2 lines! Wish it was next week already!!

Cineraria · 18/02/2014 13:23

Wow Zermatt, our temperatures are in sync! Actually, mine are copying yours as you get up before me! Please get a BFP soon and see if my body can copy that too! I have wakeful nights too and if I wake early I take my temperature then and again at the normal time if I do drop off to sleep again. For me the normal time one seems more in keeping with my expected pattern but I'd guess everyone is different.

My chart is here on Fertility Friend: My Ovulation Chart

I also had a drop today and also think I'll be seeing AF before the week is out as I used the chart overlay feature and it looks like that's what happens each month. I hadn't noticed before as I'd never pinned the charts at the end of a cycle, only the start and ovulation dates. Anyway, I'd be mad if I thought things would just happen immediately the first cycle we tried.

I haven't noticed the spotting today and at least I'll know next month what's normal for me now.

Hope your dreams come true NewlyMrsB! For all of us!

Zermatt · 18/02/2014 14:16

Ha, they really are very similar! I really hope I do get a BFP and that you get one straight after! I have pretty much decided I am out though this month, partly due to self preservation, last month I actually convinced myself I was pregnant and was a bit gutted when AF came, so this month just want to shrug it off and get on with the next cycle (with my new and improved vitamin regime) and also as I really don't have any symptoms other than being very thirsty. But it's 36 degrees here today so am not going to hold much hope on that being anything out of the ordinary. I like the factual information from the charts and will keep on doing it for next month but might just use opk's after that as I find that I'm fussing too much over the whole thing.

livingthegoodlife · 18/02/2014 19:23

oh my! you girls have been chatty!! i can't keep up!

anyway, todays test at 11 dpo was a clear BFN. im thinking i might be out this cycle :(

welcome to the new girls and good luck staying sane.

with my first 2 pregnancies i was successful the first month so never really had major tww impatientness. im now on cycle 2 and dying to get a BFP. i am sooo impatient! plus we are going to have a break after this cycle to avoid an xmas baby so i am so so hoping this is it.
