Hi everyone, I'm taking a plunge and starting our folicking March bus off to a start.

Thanks SaRaRa, that helps with what to do Smile . I had 3 flashing smileys before the fixed peak today. It's the first time I've used these, I'd used the cbfm before when I borrowed a friends, but it gave me about two weeks of high, and no peak one month and then two high and no peak the next so I decided it wasn't for me. I only started testing properly on about cd17 with the flashy type though, as I was fairly sure I'd oved around cd20-25 for the last few cycles so I knew I would be quite late. How long is your cycle? I wonder if you are oving later than you think and it would have gone to a fixed peak smiley later in your cycle?

Bellaboo Re late oving, I generally seem to ov around cd23, the latest I've had was cd43 but that was second cycle off the pill. My cycles seem pretty buggered up though so I'm not sure that's of much use to you!

Treacle that's really strange about your latest and last af. It does sound like a result of last month's issue perhaps. Hopefully it'll settle down for you for your next cycle.

SaRaRaRaRa · 22/02/2014 10:51

Barmy my cycle is generally 27/28 days and I used cheap OPKs in the past and I used to get the line around cd12. So ov cd13 maybe. So that's why when I ran out of sticks with no peak cd17 I thought the OPK must have missed my ov. But I wish I had kept testing to see if I did ever get a peak and maybe I ov'd later. Although after 10 days of dtd I think hubby was worried his willy would fall off if I'd suggested we keep going for longer.

Am now panicking that I don't ov at all, the cheapie OPKs used to just pick up the surge before but that I didn't actually ovulate. Am assuming I ov'd when I usually do and therefore am 9dpo today but I do feel in limbo a bit. I think the clearblues are a bit stressful for me! Will probably use them again next cycle tho Grin

Treacle your body could definitely be 'resetting' itself this time. Fx things are more straightforward this month... with a nice BFP at the end of it!

Bella I have only used OPKs for the past 4 cycles and previously ov was cd13ish so can't help I'm afraid.

Treaclepie19 · 22/02/2014 10:54

Thanks barmy and sarararara :)
Feeling a little more positive today. Looking forward to a bottle glass of wine tonight :)

Treaclepie19 · 22/02/2014 10:55

Also, when do you start testing with your clearblues? Last month i got a peak at 9dpo!

barmybunting · 22/02/2014 10:56

That's odd Sarara. But sometimes I think these things just don't pick up a peak. I've had opks not pick up a positive before but temp charting has shown I did, so hopefully for you it was just that they weren't picking it up because they missed your surge overnight maybe? I would go with you 9dpo and hope it turns into your bfp! I know what you mean about willies falling off! My Dh was not a happy bunny by the end of my 48day cycle which had about two weeks of high days!

barmybunting · 22/02/2014 11:01

treacle at cd9 or 9dpo? I started at about 17dpo although I tried at 12dpo but forgot for a few days after that Smile .

barmybunting · 22/02/2014 11:02

treacle, I mean I started properly at cd17, not 17dpo!

Treaclepie19 · 22/02/2014 11:02

Sorry barmy haha, I meant cd9.

SaRaRaRaRa · 22/02/2014 11:13

Treacle have you opened that bottle of wine already? Grin

I started testing cd7 - two lows and then a million highs Confused

Thanks barmy, I hope that is what happened, it just missed it. Fingers crossed. Two weeks of highs, you must have been exhausted!

Treaclepie19 · 22/02/2014 11:21

Haha it is very tempting!!! :)

PosyFossilsShoes · 22/02/2014 11:34

Treacle - I've been testing from cd7 after an unexpected smiley face on cd8 (and I think I missed it in December, when we had taken a whole week off work ready to go into the clinic at any stage - either I didn't ovulate or it was on cd7 that month, I suspect it was super early as i had ewcm but didn't test until cd9).

Sorry AF got you retro.

And whoever said about feeling resentful of those who get pg first time I know exactly what you mean. I have now had 3x IUI (and the non-smiley face in december) and i actually can't face going to see my DS who is pg with #2 and is an instadiffer. She doesn't know I'm trying and there is a high risk of the Envy face, when in fact I'm (mostly) happy for her.

RetroHippy · 22/02/2014 11:58

, hello, I'm the Envy green-eyed monster!

For me the real kicker is the people who did it by accident!

A good friend has recently got pg on her first try of IUI. I'm so pleased for her and her partner as they really want a baby and are using donor sperm so would have had to save for round 2. DSIL got pg after one drunken mistimed shag and has since said that although DNiece is gorgeous, she'd have ideally waited another year Angry.

I've been desperate to try for a baby for at least three years, but waited. To get married. To get a decent job. To pay off debts.

Now I reckon I deserve to get pg straight away as a reward for all my patience Grin.

I've told DH were DTD every day this month, starting tonight ok, maybe tomorrow. AF has arrived with a vengeance

Told him to think if it as a quick job to do before bedtime, like teeth brushing Grin!

PolytheneGirl · 22/02/2014 13:17

Hopping on the March bus! My stats are

PolytheneGirl ttc #2 cycle 3 BFP due 13th march

Slightly confused today (cd 10) did my very first opk mid morning which was negative which I expected, 2+ hours later I find I have ewcm for the first time since we started ttc. So I've just poas again and it's still negative. What does all this mean?

bellaboo88 · 22/02/2014 13:22

Polythene, I'd go for it, I read you can get ewcm same day as ovulation or up to a week before...i don't have any experience of opks but from mn, it seems they're not always right? X

PolytheneGirl · 22/02/2014 13:33

Thanks Bella. I've just done a second opk, still negative. I think I'm going to go with what my body is telling me and make the most of the ewcm. I'll keep testing as well and see what happens.

Treaclepie19 · 22/02/2014 13:38

Haha retro, I'm taking the same approach as you this month. Doing opk but dtd regardless throughout!!! I will have my November baby! :p

SaRaRaRaRa · 22/02/2014 13:46

retro Grin at dtd being a little job before bedtime like teeth brushing! I am exactly the same with DH!!!

flirty30s · 22/02/2014 14:24

Thanks Choccy! Good luck with your appointment :) xo

RetroHippy · 22/02/2014 15:02

Sarara, I may have mentioned a timer Grin

PosyFossilsShoes · 22/02/2014 15:05

retro you totally deserve to be pg after all that patience!!

Polythene your LH surge happens approx 24 hours before ovulation, so you might have missed the positive OPK and be ovulating now - I think that's what happened to me in December.

RetroHippy · 22/02/2014 16:01

Thanks Posy Grin, could you possibly mention it to my ovaries?!

SaRaRaRaRa · 22/02/2014 16:04

Retro Shock Grin It is a quite appealing thought, especially after about 5 days. Skip the foreplay and just do the job. How romantic!

RetroHippy · 22/02/2014 16:14

We should market it. A sex timer. It would come in a pack with a coordinated penis beaker and sex towel.

How long would you set it for?! Two setting; 3 mins for weekdays, 15 for a Saturday Grin

Special occasions would be signalled by not setting the timer Wink

PolytheneGirl · 22/02/2014 16:15

Grrrr I'm totally frustrated now. First cycle trying smep and the opk thing and my body starts to arse about and ov early! At least we dtd on thurs. Fingers crossed there's still a chance.

SaRaRaRaRa · 22/02/2014 16:43

Retro you're definitely on to something there. I wonder if anyone from clearblue is reading this thread. If they are it will be in the shops - extortionately priced - by Christmas Grin

Polythene which OPKs are you using? The Thursday dtd is definitely well timed. Also when you get a positive OPK it means that you are about to ovulate rather than have so if you dtd today and tomorrow (and maybe Monday/Tuesday too) there should be plenty of sperm ready to meet the egg. But yes, typical your cycle decides to mess about just as you need to rely on timings!
