Sorry to hear that af arrived. I have been for blood tests today- lh, fsh, prolactin, 21 day progesterone and shbg. The nurse was lovely but between us we had no idea what they were all for! My gp

had actually only requested 2 of the tests for me but the nurse's husband was the lead gp fur the practice so she asked him if she should request anymore and he basically said she might as well request all of them as I would only end up coming back to have the others if the original 2 were normal. I was pleased actually because at least I feel I might get some more info- whether it be good or bad! I'm back in a week for the results.

The 21 day test needs to be done 7 days before af due- so it's tailored to your cycle :-)

I'm cd11 and only a faint line on an opk.....but I'm drinking loads of water so could that affect the result? I have used opk's for the last 4 months and got a positive on cd11 each time!! Hopefully dp will be 'in the mood' later and we can dtd.....don't want to miss it!!

Spinning, yes I think drinking lots of water can affect OPK as the wee (and therefore hormone) is more diluted. Dtd later and then if you test tomorrow and it's fainter again maybe it was just too much water today.

How long have you been TTC retro?
I'm thinking if nothing in the next 3 months I'm gonna request some tests. Although not sure how things like that work here in holland.

Well I'm cd17 & no ovulation or ewcm as past 2months...danger poked & cervix is hard like tip of my nose & cm (tmi) is still lotiony & creamy.

Only good thing about not ov'ing yet is each day, the fellas getting better so I might get some soon! X

I'm still hanging around with a bfn and af 34 days long so far again!! last cycle was 34 days so expecting it come around right about now??

Do you know how many dpo you are? On the Feb thread ii swear there's something in the water, lots of bfn/missing af's & not many bfps around....unless they're all shy!

Babytinks that sounds so infuriating. Just saw a thread where people all have no AF but bfns. Really feel for all of them. Hope your BFP is just taking it's time to show. How often are you testing? Any symptoms?

Wondering if anyone knows: my AF was due last Tue and brown spotting started for four days (Tue-Fri) The real (red) AF arrived on Sat and ended on Monday. So did my cycle start on Tue or Sat??

I came off the pill 6 months ago. Had 32 day cycles for four months and then 28day cycles for 2 months. So if AF arrived Tue is was 28 days and if it arrived Sat it was 32.

I'm confused Hope someone knows better than me?? X

Flirty your cycle is normally calculated from you first day of proper bleeding.
A few of us have spotting, and it's really frustrating isn't it!
I'm going to ask about the spotting on Monday at my appointment as surely it can work against you??

Can anyone help re these clearblue smiley opks please? It's the first time I've used this type, so much easier than other ones! I've got my first fixed smiley to show a peak this morn, on cd25 finally! So, do I need to test again tomorrow or can I stop now?

Also, dtd after you see the fixed smiley, what do you normally go for, every day, eod? DH goes away on Monday with work so that'll be us after that.

Barmy, I don't think those OPKs register again after the first peak. But I would keep DTD. Hope that helps.

Got drink on wine and fell asleep. Feel a bit better about life today. On to the the next cycle! And I'm still convinced (which fits in with timing) that I ovulated on CD 5 last cycle, so will be DTD from tomorrow!

English, we've only been ttc since Christmas, but off the pill since sept. I know it's early to be going for tests, but the 1 year rule doesn't apply if there's an obvious underlying issue, like an irregular cycle. How long have you been trying? I'd say go for it if you think it might be affecting your chances.

khinks, when do you get your results back? Have you been ttc for a long time unsuccessfully or are you checking for suspected pcos? I'm intrigued at the other tests they suggested you have, might ask the pathology lab about it. They might be more helpful than the GP

Sort of... I'm a little confused as its just spotting. Whether it will change I dont know... Last month was similar, but normally my periods are 6 days, no spottingad heavy. Very confused.

Hello I'm still in limbo, but thought I'd join you all over here too! As I expect af will turn up properly soon. Spotting currently at 4 days late. 2 x bfns so the flood will materialise very soon I'm sure.

Thanks English, I'm quite happy to stop using them after seeing a peak today. The fact DH goes away on Monday puts an end to any worrying about how much longer to keep going for. I'm just glad to see a peak finally! I'm just going to count Monday as 1dpo.

Barmy I used these. I never got my peak, you're supposed to stop testing after your peak tho. How many flashing smileys did you get? I stopped testing when I ran out of sticks! If I were you if dtd this weekend, Monday morning if poss then relax!

Seems to be a theme on this thread, lots of us with late af and bfn. I tested again this morning at cd40! And got another bfn. I've also only been trying trying since xmas, but came off the pill in sept!

Interesting that you can request tests earlier than a year.. My cycles are regular in the sense that they are long! and seem to be getting longer each month. So I guess that in itself is irregular. What a frustrating thing this menstrual cycle lark is!!

Blimey retro, you were right about the cd5 ov then...crazy!

Cd18 today. Doing math from last cycle, it was 32 days..minus a 'general' 14day lp = ov day on cd18....also been reading up...ewcm (my sign) can come same day as ov or maybe a few days before....but in rarer cases up to a week before (which can explain longer cycles I guess?) So that could explain last month ov on cd17..one day before actual ovulation.

What's the latest anyone's ovulated?

Will buy opks for my May cycle if I get there. Babytinks, I know what you mean about night shift, 7straight 12 hour nights is a sexytime fail!!

Nope its always 28/29days. Last month was 24 and this month 35. I reckon last month could've been a failed implantation or something so it came early and this month was just acting as if last months had come on time. If that makes sense.
