Oh that's great barmy! I feel much better now! Hmm, wondering whether to amend my AF dates on my app...

Good job I'm off work, what with all the important TTC jobs and research to do! Wink

SnowBells · 16/02/2014 12:13

Good luck to everyone waiting for a BFP this month!!! For those who won't get that much desired BFP - I'll see ya on the March bus!!!

barmybunting · 16/02/2014 12:15

I would do missmrs, it will also mean you are oving earlier in terms of days in your cycle which always sounds better too!

Snowbells good luck for March!

Agree with barmy-count the first full flow as CD1. Test towards the end of this week with me, missmrs -we both could be implanting any day now (if we haven't already)!!!

Currently wasting time sitting on the sofa-might have a 'do nothing' day Grin

mama31 · 16/02/2014 12:25

Missmrs I always get pre af spotting, last cycle I had 6 days of it before af. Always count cd1 from full flow af but like others have said record the days of spotting as well so you know the pattern each cycle.

This is my 2nd day with pos opk, was planning to dtd up til Monday just as had pos opk y'day, but now it's here today how long should we continue dtd?? It's not that I'm not enjoying it but by Monday that will be our 11th time since the start of this cycle....its alot!!!!

KittyVonCatsington · 16/02/2014 12:31

I hear you, mama! Last month I had stopped DTD by now (SMEP) and got a BFN! So this month, after reading that ovulation pains and positive OPK resultsjust means your tubes are starting to release an egg, it can take a few days for it to travel to meet spermies,so I am DTD just a few more days longer in case. Someone on this bus, can't remember who, said they DTD up to CD 28 or so and got their BFP so that's my plan this month.

mama31 · 16/02/2014 12:37

Kitty oh my!!!! Thanks for that! I will keep going then! I'm kind of exhausted...wish I had DH stamina!!! but will keep going!!! Determined not to have any regrets at all this time!

KittyVonCatsington · 16/02/2014 12:42

"Lie back and think of England" springs to mind Wink

mama31 · 16/02/2014 12:44

Kitty are you dtd every day?? I'm not sure what to do got pos opk yesterday, and is still pos today...should I dtd every day until Tues?? then back to every other day? Why is it so confusing!

Thing is once af leaves I am up for dtd massively right up til ovulation I'm totally in the mood....then when I get pos opk i seem to be less up for it! and that is the crucial time! I still do it and enjoy it, but wild horses couldn't stop me from af leaves til ovulation then once I get pos opk I'm really doing it for ttc purposes and not coz I really really want to!! Is anyone the same? Am I oversharing here?! (tmi sorry!!!!)

KittyVonCatsington · 16/02/2014 12:50

Not over sharing-totally the same. Only day I didn't DTD ironically was Friday! Otherwise yes, DTD every day since CD8 -am now on CD25. Some 'sessions' have been more amorous than others so to speak and I know at the start I wanted every time to be memorable etc. now, I just want a BFP. HTH

missmrsmummy · 16/02/2014 13:08

Agree mama and kitty! We rarely used to DTD but when we did we were both up for it. Whereas now.... it's functional!

Thanks for advice re: AF and full flow! I've adjusted my app. Now my luteal phase is 10-12 days so much better. But it means AF us due later this week so even longer to wait now! I've calculated Thurs so I'll test with you kitty if the witch hasn't got me!

We've only DTD 4 times this cycle - complete opposite to you kitty! I admire your efforts! We had No energy and were a bit fed up as we did it a lot more last cycle and still no bfp. We are trying not to try too hard but that's a bit impossible!

Writerwannabe83 · 16/02/2014 13:14

Bloody hell Kitty that's a lot of sex!!! Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 16/02/2014 13:19

I know! We were in the camp of rarely DTD before TTC (term time almost non-existent especially) but as soon as I get over the tired barrier (takes about 1 minute) I have found it is quite easy! Part of the reason for DTD so early in cycle, is that I didn't have an ovulation date as a guide. I think next month, I will start later.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 16/02/2014 13:25

There might not be a next month fx Kitty! We are trying to do it more and TBH doesn't always last ages any way Wink but means we are less tired!

Writerwannabe83 · 16/02/2014 13:30

Me and DH were also rare DTD'ers so I was quite nervous about TTC as I couldn't comprehend how we would cope with having regular sex - it was a little bit awkward actually. We have only done it once since I conceived and that was quite awkward too - and very uncomfortable for me Grin I don't know where pregnant women get the energy or inclination to have regular sex all the way through Smile

When I conceived me and DH didn't first DTD until 3 days before I thought I might ovulate and then stopped the day after I thought I'd ovulated. Even now I can't imagine us having done it more frequently!!

You deserve a medal for your 17 day marathon!! Grin

mama31 · 16/02/2014 14:01

Writer only once since you concieved?! Is DH not hounding and pestering you for it? My DH can't go for very long without it, if it's been 3 days he says he feels he might explode lol

Before ttc I would have been up for it about 3 times a week, and happily all wkend long whilst off work and not tired! But DH is so happy to be getting it daily....im fine with that to begin with but start fading after the pos opk comes!

I must say though the 4 times we dtd last wkend it was great as we both knew it was too soon for ovulation and we were doing it coz we wanted to and not coz we had to for ttc! Makes such a difference!

mama31 · 16/02/2014 14:09

Kitty I know I get too tired at night to do it so I've been prepping well. If I know DH will be home around 7.30pm then I will be waiting for him ;) he doesn't get his dinner til quite late then! But honestly if he came home at 7.30, then had dinner and relaxed until bedtime....id get in to bed and go straight to sleep....im so tired from about 9.30pm that dtd would just not happen! so I've been quite prepared knowing what I'm like, catching DH morning, afternoons and early evenings! Otherwise we'd miss the chance as I'd be snoring my head off! Haha! I do love my sleep!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 16/02/2014 14:30

Going back to telling people about TTC, I've told my parent as I can't handle my mum keep asking. At least with her knowing we're trying she doesn't constantly ask anymore and she knows about the mc. I'd rather people know a they don't ask if you get what I mean. But also the idea that they know we're having loads of sex makes me shudder a bit!!

Kitty you need a medal for all that DTD! Hope it gets you the BFP!!
After my temp drop confirms ov we usually have a few days before we then DTD for fun! TTC def takes the fun and spontonaety out of sex!

mama31 · 16/02/2014 14:36

English we are the same! Close friends and fam know we are ttc, and I feel that stops constant questions about "when are you going to have a little baby?!" but I do feel a bit under pressure now on cycle 9 with no bfp and I find them reassuring me a lot that it's nothing to worry about....and that is nice....but slightly annoying as well at times!

I can't wait to just dtd for fun!!! Without ttc! It really is a bit of a passion killer...ironically!

Writerwannabe83 · 16/02/2014 14:51

mama -well initially we couldn't DTD because of the unexplained bleeding I kept having and was told to abstain until my 20 week scan so any problems/causes could be ruled out. The 20 week scan was fine so we DTD about a week later but it wasn't very enjoyable - I think we were both still worried about causing further bleeding and it was also very uncomfortable for me. I think the grimacing expression on my face put him off wanting to do it again Grin

But, on a more serious note, our sex life was never what you would call 'active' - I think we both have relatively low sex drives. Hence why DTD for TTC purposes felt very strange - it felt like we were doing something 'unnatural for us' as it wasn't what we were used to.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 16/02/2014 15:00

I do feel slightly like people are expecting an announcement soon, but I'm just glad people aren't asking so much now. My niece is desperate for a baby cousin (she's told me it will be a girl and I should name her rose or odette!) Smile

barmybunting · 16/02/2014 17:13

English and mama that does make sense about having told family. I think I'll be saying something to my Mom soon if a bfp doesn't happen as it is hard to hear them asking. Although I don't know if them knowing would be worse, my Mom is one to try to send me articles about drinking more water or looking up every disease known to man in case you have it so I am concerned she would fuss endlessly which I would hate. I'm hoping a bfp will just appear soon so I don't have to face that!

Just spent the afternoon with my mum who kept banging on about me having a baby...I wanted to scream! I've told one really close friend who is TTC #5 with 2nd DH but that's it. I get asked daily by colleagues who are all popping babies out like its no biggy, sod off you overly fertile patronising buggers! Oooh that feels better, sorry to rant Blush

missmrsmummy · 16/02/2014 18:42

Haha! This conversation is entertaining as it's so true! I've told my mum and 3 close friends we are TTC but annoyingly another friend asked me the other day and I was flabbergasted and didn't deny it very well so she spanked me on my leg and squealed. Err, yeah. Didn't really want to tell her. I am so annoyed with myself! She also told me it's not a good time for me to TTC now (off with stress) as I need to be mentally well before I conceive. Thanks for the advice lol.

KittyVonCatsington · 16/02/2014 19:05

sod off you overly fertile patronising buggers!

I'm going to have to use that line next time Grin
