Hi all. As promised, a sparkling new thread that is going to see a lot of action in the next few weeks, I hope!

Yay to One and Bugs!

One - I have a retroverted uterus too but both of my ETs were easy. Maybe I got lucky!

One yay! You're pupo. So have an easy day now hun. Chill with DS, DVDs, tv and get a take away or ready meal for dinner if your DH won't help out!

Bugs, fab news. 5 blasto frosties. Woohoo!

Cwatch, congrats on being pupo too.

Res, usually you have to but one of the expensive pregnancy tests and before you've used it, af arrives!!! Seriously tho, I think after m/c it can take a while for your body to re-regulate itself tho. Sorry it's taking so long. X

Waves to everyone else Smile

Badhairday76 · 03/02/2014 12:52

Hooray One - you are PUPO! And yay to you, Bugs on the 5 frosties!

Hello to everyone else xxxx

Sorry Bugs - I mean your 3 frosties. Did the doc say what grade they were? Apparently I have 1 good one in the freezer and 3 average. Am confused cos thought they had to be good to freeze them!

Bad - me too! Assuming (when feeling optimisitc) that our 1 X Grade 2s will survive the thaw! Told by Care that blasto successful thaw rate is 90%. Does it depend on NHS/private, d'you reckon? Seems to me to be no point to a freeze if unlikely to thaw properly. I guess some people have to have all frozen at outset (eg if OHSS) and early but then there'd be no proper grading in place so irrelevant!

Badhairday76 · 03/02/2014 15:16

It's odd, isn't it, Res? I would rather not know that one is good and 3 are just 'okay'. My clinic also told me that they only froze 'the really good ones', so seems mind of contradictory. It's not like I can go anything with the information either! I feel rough today. Probably just lack of sleep but am lying under a blanket on the sofa whilst my DS naps. I am STILL really bloated and getting fed up of it! The good news is that I did another Superdrug test and there is still a line. A faint one, but a line nonetheless. Am going to try to stop POASing until the weekend now and try to relax.

time2deal · 03/02/2014 15:30

Re the freezing, I did two cycles where they just froze them. Apparently they freeze/defrost much better when they are just at the 2 cell stage. ie. just fertilized. So all 12 (!!) are one day embryos.

On the flip side, it apparently very hard to freeze eggs. They almost never survive. So when I did the pre-cancer cycle, they fertilized them. If you are single it's a much riskier prospect, and harder decision. It's one of those things that doesn't get talked about much, but for young people with cancer infertility is a very common side effect.

I know. Especially tough for pre-adolescent kids. I think they can take a slice of the ovaries pre-treatment, but as yet they can't do anything with it. The theory is that in the future that slice could be used (in someone else? In a lab) to grow eggs similar to stimm cycles for IVF.

resipsa · 03/02/2014 16:43

I imagine that subject is one which rarely gets raised freely for discussion outside specific circles because most people wouldn't know what to say. Me included probably and after death, miscarriage, cancer, infertility and facial paralysis (family too, not just me) I think of myself as quite open to talking about tricky things. It's an unthinkable combination, really.

Now I am worried afresh that our embryos won't thaw. There's no let up with this stuff is there?

Bad - it is sounding good for you. Can you 'tell'? I think that I could last time...

Badhairday76 · 03/02/2014 18:26

My only real 'symptom' is being starving hungry. I need to get the killer sore boobs before I really believe it. No sign yet!

Onelittlebugbear · 03/02/2014 18:32

And the tingly fingers!

I'm not feeling all that hopeful about my embies but they are going to try and get the other two that were still going to blastocyst. The embryologist thought they might get one.
It's actually very interesting and impressive if you're not the one actually having to do it. The science involved is awesome.

WannabeMaryPoppins · 03/02/2014 18:43

res 20 Kgs! Well then I have no worries having to lug 12 KGs about Grin It must be so frustrating waiting for AF to rock and bloody ironic. I know after my last failed FET I had to wait 6 weeks for a proper bleed and it drove me nuts. Hang on in there.
one congrats on being PUPO. Sending you lots of positive vibes
bugs 3 frosties is brilliant. Well done you. I was told that my last embie is that great Quality wise but after all the discussion it can't be that bad otherwise they wouldn't have frozen it in the first place.
bad hope you are keeping away from those sticks

eurochick · 03/02/2014 19:47

Hurrah for one and bugs! Thinking positive thoughts for all PUPOs.

How awful about the fire bad. Are you ok or shaken up by it?

Tingly fingers, one?!?

Onelittlebugbear · 03/02/2014 19:51

Yeah euro - Bad said she had tingly fingers with her ds!

Onelittlebugbear · 03/02/2014 19:55

Also and sorry for the tmi but I've used the front entrance for the bullet tonight and although I lay down afterwards there seems to be way more leaking.
Is this normal?! I'm worried if the progesterone doesn't stay high then I've got no chance.

Thanks! This is the only place I can ask these questions!

Still lying down in an attempt to keep it in place.

Feel so much more relaxed now et is over. Even though I'm not optimistic at least we gave it a go and it is done.

Badhairday76 · 03/02/2014 20:13

One - I had no leakage from them as bum bullets, but they are way messy up the fanjo! Am thinking of alternating!

Thanks Euro - was a bit shaken last night but am fine now. I feel sorry for the bloke whose flat is burned to a cinder. My neighbours are being very uncharitable and want to start a petition to get the tenant out. He smokes a lot of weed, so it's turning into a witch hunt.

resipsa · 03/02/2014 20:15

One - it is the waxy outer layer that leaks out. I used to find - TMI - that it attached my knickers to my pubes by 11am. If I forgot, it made for a painful trip to the loo!

OP posts:
resipsa · 03/02/2014 20:18

PS MP - she was 2.10 at time of ET and, yes, 20kgs! Went off the charts height and weight wise at about 18 months. Just turned 3, wears 5-6 clothes and has size 11 feet Shock. Takes after DH (Aussie brawn) at 6' 5" with size 15 feet!!!

OP posts:
eurochick · 03/02/2014 20:18

one a lot of leakage is normal from the front. I got very fed up of wearing towels day in day out to protect my clothes from them. The back is a bit ming for insertion, but much cleaner once its in.

I never bothered laying down, but did try to do it before I could sit quietly for an hour (so just after I got to work in the morning when I'm just checking emails and just before bed). I found I never got much fall out until I started moving and gravity did its thing.
