bad Thanks, yep I had one at 6w4d.

No idea how I avoided them, I was just told to take them till OTD. I was surprised to hear some people take them till 12 weeks Shock

BrookerC · 24/02/2014 23:07

Well done moggle! That's some great laying. You've earned a lovely rest. Fx for your fertilisation call tomorrow.
maryp remembering your singing while stimming made me chuckle. Nice song choice too Grin. Well done for getting through the last few days. Hugs.
beetle you have every right to rant as much as you like. What happened to your babies was so incredibly unfair. Enjoy your little fucker free day tomorrow lovely Smile
cups you got through a tough day today & no, you're not crazy.
Good luck tomorrow turk
Hi to everyone else.

moggle · 25/02/2014 08:57

17 out of 19 fertilised. Blimey... If my eggs and his sperm are this good together in a Petri dish, why haven't they managed to get it together in my uterus before now... Maybe we'll find out tomorrow when we hear how they're developing. Always room for a little pessimism amongst the good news!

Badhairday76 · 25/02/2014 09:22

Wow Moggle - that's really amazing! Are you doing IVF because of tubal issues? Your sperm and eggs sound great so far so try not to worry! Congrats!

moggle · 25/02/2014 09:27

No, purely unexplained. All the tests checked out fine on both of us (apart from my lowing AMH of 9). We could've waited another year for NHS treatment but we were starting to feel left behind and could afford a private cycle which wouldn't affect our NHS entitlement, so decided to go for it. My parents took 6yrs of trying to have me and they were 22 when they started trying, so that was at the back of my mind too.

starsandmoonandback · 25/02/2014 09:59

Moggle that's great! 17 embies!!!! Unexplained is frustrating isn't it?! Hopefully, it will remain unexplained but you'll just get your bfp!! Smile

Badhairday76 · 25/02/2014 10:11

Wow - that's amazing! I can imagine how frustrating unexplained must be for you. But as Stars says, you will hopefully now just get your BFP!

eurochick · 25/02/2014 10:14

bad clinics differ. Mine had me on them (2 a day) until 12 weeks, and then recommended tapering for a week.

WannabeMaryPoppins · 25/02/2014 11:24

Moggle that is absolutely brilliant! Well done to you and Mr M Smile

WannabeMaryPoppins · 25/02/2014 11:29

Have just got back from my review appointment. I saw a different Dr today (the boss though, so was v. happy about that) who was amazed that non of our tests had been done so that we can carry on with the fresh cycle. Was very miffed as was. Just think, if I hadn't accidentally gone to a different Dr then I would have had to have waited another month to get going! Unbelievabe. Anyway, to cut a long story short DH has got to pop in this pm to give a sample, I gave them 13 (!!!!) tubes of blood (they are even testing for the mother fucker gene) and have just spent over 1.000 € on drugs. The stabbing starts tomorrow evening. I've Gonal F and something else beginning with P. I don't know if I am excited or scared or both the only way is up, baby! for you and me now

WannabeMaryPoppins · 25/02/2014 11:31

Oh and I forgot to say that he told me that I will be off work for at least 2 weeks. So I now have the dilemma of telling my boss (mid 50s, no kids, a cow) that I will be having a cyst removed (does that sound familiar???) or just coming up with a mystery illness that is going to lay me up for 2 weeks. Any advice?

vallinnapod · 25/02/2014 12:14

Mary appendix?? Same region?!

PS I have the mutated MTHFR gene....no idea when we had DS!

nobeer · 25/02/2014 13:49

MaryP good luck with your tests. Isn't having a cyst removed genuine enough reason to have time off? Or can you be vague and tell her you have gynaecological issues?!

WannabeMaryPoppins · 25/02/2014 13:58

I just want sure of it was realistic having 2 Weeks off for a cyst

vallinnapod · 25/02/2014 14:36

I think you're fine. A friend just had the same and took a week. Said she felt fine going back but really felt it after the first day.

resipsa · 25/02/2014 16:47

Hi guys.

Well, our Sat night 'final fling' was limp. Home by 11.45 and no hangover. Fun though. Glad to read others here did better at over-indulging than me. And it wasn't for want of enthusiasm to get plastered, it just didn't happen. Old age, I suspect.

Now, what have I missed?

Bunny - 5 is fine, really! We only had 6 from an expensive 'known' donor. Hope they are all developing well.

Moggle - 17? 17? Wow. Impressive. Hope you get a good few to choose from at transfer and to freeze.

resipsa · 25/02/2014 16:48

Mary P - sorry to read about the cyst but guess that it'll be gone soon. Enjoy the first stim jab!

resipsa · 25/02/2014 16:51

Oops, first post, meant B4by not bunny! Sorry.

Turquoise - how was the scan?

OP posts:
resipsa · 25/02/2014 16:54

Brooker - excited or nervous about ET? I can't wait for mine (in a month!). Feel like I've been waiting for ever.

Turquoisetamborine · 25/02/2014 17:00

Hello girls, I'm waiting in pharmacy now for more Buserelin. My womb lining was 7mm and it has to be 5mm. I haven't had a period since I started (last one end of Jan) so he said I have to ring if that comes on as that may help.

So basically I'm back on tues if I get a period soon or 10th march if not. Bit disappointed but nothing I can do. Best to get the lining right. My AMH results came back as 20 so think that's ok too.

Wow Moggle that's a good haul!! Bet you get a baby or two out of those!!

MaryP I just muttered about a gynae issue to my boss when I had my lap and dye. She didn't want to know more than that. When are you getting it done?

moggle · 25/02/2014 17:37

Gotta admit having so many makes me feel like the pressure is off a little for this cycle as hopefully we'll get some to freeze as well. When we got the fertilisation numbers DH said "We'll never have to have sex again!" with rather too much glee in his voice (but to be fair, having this month off sex has been a nice relief in a way!). But of course it's still one day at a time.
I have been scaring myself reading about OHSS. I still have no signs apart from my tummy feeling a bit bloated and uncomfy but despite feeling fat I've not actually put any weight on since triggering on Saturday. I'm drinking lots of water and it certainly seems like I am peeing it all out... So hopefully it's just discomfort from my ovaries taking a bit of a beating yesterday during EC.
I've got a scan tomorrow at 1:15 to check for fluid buildup and am just wondering whether to take the morning off work (work is between home and the clinic) and just go in for the afternoon once I know if I have any signs. On the other hand my work is not exactly tough stuff and at least I'll be away from Google for a bit!!

moggle · 25/02/2014 17:40

turq - hope AF comes soon. It's a nice change to be wishing it to come isn't it... AMH sounds good too!
MaryP - what's your work's sick policy? If you have to submit a doctor's note I guess you'll want to make sure it matches up with what you told them so maybe something gynaecological would be best? I had a great time with my line manager on Friday sorting out my sick note for yesterday and today, we were in an open office full of people who I didn't want to know about our IVF, so had to just sit there typing suggestions to each other... in the end I just went for 'Hospital procedure' cos it gets sent to our nosy departmental Administrator, but I think I will email HR to give them more detail once I'm back.

Badhairday76 · 25/02/2014 17:49

Hey Turquoise - the same thing happened to me and they put me on double doses for a week of Buserelin. It was completely fine after a week though and the cycle went ahead as planned. I was really fed up at the time, but try not to worry - you'll get there.

MaryP - glad things are happening for you now. Am confused though - have you got a cyst? If so, really sorry and hope it clears up. If it's your 'IVF excuse' for time off, then it sounds like a good one. Fibroid removal is also a good excuse.

Hello to everybody else. I feel ghastly today. Sick, incredibly tired and headachey. I'm back at work after half term tomorrow and dreading it.....

Badhairday76 · 25/02/2014 17:53

Moggle - I got 16 eggs and was v bloated and uncomfortable after EC for about a week but didn't get OHSS. Step away from Google! I know I didn't and was worrying myself unnecessarily! You might find work a distraction from all things IVF. I definitely do. Otherwise I sit around worrying about everything and convincing myself of the worst.
