Hi all. As promised, a sparkling new thread that is going to see a lot of action in the next few weeks, I hope!

Hi baby, I know people who have got bfp's on first ivf, but I didn't myself. Why do you ask?

Thanks guys. I'm 4 days from the end of the packet. I am on the pill for another cycle after this so I am not overly worried.

Hope everyone with hangovers is feeling better this evening! Can't remember the last time I had a hangover, I just cannot sleep after drinking these days so it's been ages :-(
I've mostly been lazing about this weekend trying not to think too much about tomorrow's EC. DH is being amazing and doing absolutely everything around the house, bless him. I've got a sore throat and cough and that combined with a bloated tum is making me not too keen on eating much but am trying to force things down. Can't believe I can't even drink after midnight, I am going to be coughing all night without water :-( lucky DH!

Moggle, good luck for ec tomorrow. I've always been allowed to drink water until 6am before ec sedation or hysteroscopy GA. But just no food after midnight. I usually wake up just before 6 and drink a big glass of water!

cups it's as simple as a scan on day 10, then scan & bloods every other day until ovulation detected (which was day 14 for me). I then had a small dose pre-filled trigger early evening the same day. And that's it! I just wish I had more frosties as it seems the way to go to me. To give your body a rest from the drugs is heavenly. I really hope my embie thaws so we can see how this cycle pans out. Even if it doesn't result in a baby, it would be good to see if having a frozen embie & drug free cycle makes any difference - I have not had a sniff of implantation from my last 2 transfers.
Sorry val can't help with the brown blood. It's many,many years since I was on the pill.
Good luck for tomorrow moggle. Agree with stars, a little water should be ok as long as it's not too close to EC. Hi stars - head ok yet?

Unfortunately ours definitely said no food or drink after midnight :-( DH says I am like a mogwai...

I'm glad to know I'm not the only egg buddy that's been suffering with a hangover I'm just about recovered now. Nobeer I feel for you with your shandy hangover. I tend to feel rough after just one drink these days so I tend to be the designated driver although Friday night consisted of about 2 bottles of wine

Brooker unmedicated FET sounds fab. I really hope it works for you. I hope I get some frosties on my next cycle.

Val I've no idea either as I've never taken the pill for IVF. I did have spotting mid IVF though and my clinic didn't seem bothered.

B4by quite a few previous egg buddies have had BFPs on their first cycles so it can happen. I got a BFP on my first cycle but had an early miscarriage.

Mog good luck for tomorrow! The rule for fasting for ops is 6 hours for food and 2 hours for clear fluids ie water. I think a lot of clinics/hospitals say fast completely from midnight to prevent any confusion. That said I always do exactly what my clinic tell me too whether I know different as IVF seems to make me superstitious!

B4by I got a bfp from my first completed ivf cycle. I did have two cancelled mid way (post ec, but et was cancelled for various reasons) but the first time an embryo was put back it worked. And I had only one that made it to blast - from 9 eggs collected.

stars, cups and nobeer glad to hear that you have had an alchofrolic weekend. I haven't had a drink since Christmas and so was a bit [envious] even though hangovers are horrendous the worst one I had was after a friends b'day party where I felt so ill I couldn't change DS nappy without barfing. Literally

vall when I was on the pill I had brown spotting loads until I changed to the nuvaring. I don't think its too much to worry about.

Hello to res time euro and everyone else.

Am feeling a lot more positive than at the weekend. I was so emotionally and physically drained on Friday that I was in bed asleep by 08:30pm which was heavenly. And then, surprise surprise AF turned up yesterday which really was a bit of a surprise as last time I had the proluton jabs it took 6 weeks! Have got an appointment tomorrow about the stimms and so should start stabbing in the next couple of days. Eek! starts to prepare singing voice to help with the stabbing

Cups, I can't handle hangovers either. I must stop! I've been drinking too much since my failed cycle...

I think my question for prof Winston would be why every article on ivf uses a picture of icsi in the illustration...

Oh my gosh wannabe I remember when you told us that! Ha, was so funny. When I stab I always go '1,2,3 beeeep' by the end on the 'beep' it's in and not hurting anymore. To be honest it wasn't a planned thing, I just happened and worked. I much prefer singing though

I'm afraid I can't say it worked for me first time b4by but it doesn't mean it won't for you. There are so many things involved which are different for every person so it unfortunately can't truly be judged on stats

Hopefully I will have a good lunch too, it's a private hosp :-) I picked cheese and tomato sandwich, DH picked a hot bacon muffin, I think I am totally going to steal his when it comes... DH has just been summoned to the masturbatorium... I've got my lovely gown and paper pants on and just waiting with butterflies in my tum!

In complete shock, they got 19 eggs!! Really can't believe it. DH's sample was good too. In a bit of pain so they've given me some codeine. Been to the loo and had some food so hopefully off home soon. Thanks for the kind wishes :-D

B4By - well done on your 5 eggs! Hope that time isn't dragging for you too much right now. I got a BFP a couple of weeks ago from my first IVF cycle, although it's still early days (am 7 weeks today) and am waiting until my scan next week to start believing it.

Moggle - good luck with EC! Am hoping for a good haul for you.

Well done on all the hangovers, ladies! I used to be a proper boozy party animal before I had my DS but don't cope well with hangovers these days. Enjoy!! Sorry for the lack of personals - I have a brain like a sieve at the moment - but hoping you are all well and that those of you mid cycle aren't feeling too rough. Brooker - your unmediated cycle sounds great. I will definitely do that next time. It sounds heavenly in comparison to all the devil's juice jabbing!
