Hi all. As promised, a sparkling new thread that is going to see a lot of action in the next few weeks, I hope!

Good evening everyone!
motor how the devil are you doing with only a few weeks to go? I am so excited for your imminent arrival & green with envy Thanks for checking in on us. It's always lovely to hear from you.
one I can't really add anything more than has already been said from the lovely people on here. Please take whatever time you need to come to the right decision for you & know that we are here if and when you are ready. x
stars I'm sorry you're still feeling low Sad. Have you made any decisions yet about your frostie and/or your next steps?
miss I remember you! It's lovely of you to pop in. 19 weeks - wow! I'm so happy for you & DH.
moggle only a couple more of the stingy little fuckers to go Grin. Exciting! The bloating should soon pass after EC but make sure you're drinking plenty of water.
beetle! how great that we could both be having procedures at the same time. No slow coach stimming for you then unlike me. What are the 3 injections you're having? Good luck for the scan tomorrow. x
maryp sending you a huge virtual hug. I hope today ends soon for you. You did really well going in to work today (although I find the distraction helpful when things haven't worked out). Hope you're being well looked after. x
b4by 10 is a good number - well done! Some of the clinics are very different to mine when it comes to EC. The thought of sitting in a waiting room with everyone else seems odd! At mine, you are given your own private room (with basic facilities but they have magazines & a tv) to undress & wait for the clinical staff to prepare in theatre. You are then taken back there to recover after the procedure (with tea & biscuits/sandwiches brought out - my favourite bit). I have been awake for all 3 of my ECs & I wouldn't want it any other way. I find it fascinating observing the whole process and the drugs they give are shit hot. Hope you're getting plenty of rest & being spoiled rotten.
tame! It's so good to hear from you lovely! The very best of luck with your cycle. Have you been doing anything special in preparation? x
wish hope the horrid cold sods off quickly. I had an awful sore throat & heavy chest a couple of weeks ago and it got right on my nerves. I just wanted it to be gone before I was due for transfer. Not long to go for you now. How many frosties have you got? Have you decided how many to put back?
nobeer glad you enjoyed your weekend away - even if the weather wasn't great.
val you are one strong lady.
resp If he's anything like mine, it's not that he doesn't care it just takes umpteen reminders to flipping sink in. I have told mine every day for the last few days that ET is due on Wednesday. I know that I'll have to remind him again over the weekend Hmm.
It's good to hear that juicy is doing so well. I miss her entertaining posts. Please make sure that we get to hear an update when the little one appears.

Hi to everyone else.

wishwash · 22/02/2014 00:21

I'm glad my lunacy has mad you smile stars. You gotta larf haven't you! They say that laughter is the best medicine so arse it to the crappy buserelin, I'd rather have a good old cackle! Grin

res im sorry DH isn't paying attention to the ivf anymore and is making it blatantly obvious! It must make you feel very lonely. The only excuse I can think of for him is that maybe it's a form of self defence. My DP is very much like it. If he doesn't think about it, it cant hurt us. Unfortunately it's not as easy for us to switch off!

brooker we have 5 frosties. 1 of them being day 5 and the others day 6 (I think). We're going to defrost them all to find the best ones and put 2 back. It's very scary. This is our second FET so just rolling through the motions in a daze

nobeer · 22/02/2014 10:42

Morning all! Have you lot seen this? www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/feb/21/robert-winston-ivf-questions-reproductive-health The poor man is going to be inundated!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 22/02/2014 10:46

Morning I've read back for the past few days but I can't remember much as I've got an awful hangover and I'm feeling really sick Confused

Motor and MissM lovely to see you guys, I'm so happy to hear it's all going well. MissM I can't believe you got a surprise BFP, it's good to know these things do happen occasionally

I'm glad to hear Juicy is doing well. I miss her foul mouth and straight talking Grin

I can also confirm that Maybe is doing really well and is due end of March. We are friends on FB so I will let you guys know when baby gets here if she doesn't pop by herself.

Beetle and Brooker not long to go for you guys now! Only a few more days of the little fuckers.

MaryP I'm gutted about your BFN. I agree you are one strong lady. Well done for making it into work. I hope you are doing lots of nice things this weekend to treat yourself.

Mog good luck for EC.

B4by 10 is a fab number, I'm keeping everything crossed for good fertilisation.

Tame I've been wondering how you are getting on. I've heard wonderful things about that clinic so I'm really hopeful for you x

Res yep it is care that I've been referred to. I wonder if we will be there at the same time at all. I don't blame you for being pissed at your DH. Mine can be as bad. I'm always having to remind him that when scans and treatments are coming up. It's hard isn't it cos sometimes it feels like it's more important to us than them. I guess it's easier for men to forget as so little happens to them during IVF.

Bugs I'm from whitefield near bury so we won't know each other as I think you are a Yorkshire lass. I hope all is going well with you. Have you got a scan booked yet?

Val its also coming up to 6 months since my miscarriage. I'm feeling pretty emotional about it. I'm trying to channel some of your PMA. Of course I would love to share my extra thick lining with you Smile

Wish your post made me smile. I work with kids as well and I love making them laugh. It's the best feeling in the world.

One I don't know if you'll see this but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. You had a pretty rough experience with your IVF, I really hope you are starting to put it behind you and get back to some normality. If you do decide to try again then there is lots of info about DE and DE abroad on fertility friends that you might find useful x

Hi Stars and Nobeer my drink riddled mind has now gone blank and I can't remember what you guys have posted recently Blush

My NHS clinic called yesterday to apologise following my complaint. They have now offered me an urgent hysteroscopy and scratch under GA in 2 weeks! I've said yes obviously as I just want it as soon as possible. I'm going in for my pre op on Monday. I'm a bit nervous now it's happening!
Beetle I had my short protocol cancelled in jan as my lining was 8.3 after a full AF on CD3 (I normally only bleed for 2-3 days). My lining has always been thick at every scan. It was 17mm at ET on my last cycle and I had the lowest stims because of it. I've been told I need the scope to rule out anything "sinister". I'm a little worried they might find something seriously wrong but I'm trying to stay positive.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 22/02/2014 10:54

Nobeer how can he be bothered with all this at the age of 73?! That said I think it's a nice idea. I don't agree with him about immunes though so I don't think ill email him Wink

nobeer · 22/02/2014 11:34

Cups you old boozer Wink! You need a cup of tea and a bacon sarnie.

AFM I'm waiting for immunology results (get them in 2 weeks), so won't be emailing the esteemed Sir Dr Winston either. Thanks for reminding me, wouldn't want to get an email telling me I've thrown away a good thousand euros! And yes, he should be pottering in a shed and doing some gardening, or maybe take a Saga a holiday or two Grin.

resipsa · 22/02/2014 13:42

Cups - how's the head? Think I'll be in your shoes tomorrow. DH and I are out tonight on final blow out before next cycle (well, I see it like that, for him it's just another night out).

Might well see you at Care. I always sit in the waiting room on my Blackberry as if to give the impression that I am very busy and important and that this baby stuff isn't really that big a deal to me Smile.

B4byPlease · 22/02/2014 15:55

Hi all, got the dreaded phone call this morning. We got 5 fertilised. Pleased but was kinda expecting more. They was all done with IVF too, so just hoping we will still have a good number for day 5 transfer on Wednesday.

Feeling sore today, and bit gassy

Good luck to all having EC soon and thanks for all your kind and comforting replies. Thanks

starsandmoonandback · 22/02/2014 17:40

BAby, well done on your 5 embies Smile sorry you're disappointed there weren't more. Focus on your five now tho - in between farts! Confused Parp Parp!! Confused Wink

Cups hope you're feeling ok and taken it easy today.

Res, enjoy your night out tonight. Go wild girl GrinWine

Hi to everyone else xx

starsandmoonandback · 22/02/2014 21:17

I'm the last to post and am posting again... No night out, but I am a bit tipsy! Or pissed! Wink Oops!

BrookerC · 22/02/2014 22:24

Well done for getting a result from your clinic cups. I didn't have any problems with my hysteroscopy a couple of years ago. Try not to worry - you will be fine. I'm very impressed with your lengthy post under the circumstances in which it was composed Wink
I'm not having any little fuckers btw. I'm having an unmedicated FET, so only had to have a trigger shot.
Has anyone had the pre-mixed trigger (ovitrelle)? For my fresh cycles I have had to mix the trigger & break a vial . This time I had a pre- mixed pen, gonal-f style. So much easier.
nobeer the Bob Winston stuff looks interesting. Ridiculously I can't think what I'd ask him but I shall be keeping an eye on the website for snippets of his wisdom.
Hope you have a good night res. I like the symbolic nature of the final blowout.
b4by well done on your lovely fertilised embryos. Sending loads of divide vibes.
Hic! Evening stars. What tipple is making you squiffy this evening? I've had a glass of champagne & now have a banging headache. Ouch. What a fecking waste of time. Now on pain killers & water....

starsandmoonandback · 23/02/2014 00:31

Well... I've had white wine and prosecco. Oops Wink hic! Not that great though as arguing with dh now Hmm blah!

I like the champagne only rule! You deserve it!

Good luck with the unmedicated fet. I'm definitely going to ask about this with my little frostie xx

Turquoisetamborine · 23/02/2014 07:04

Hello everyone, I haven't read back the last few days but hugs for those who need them. I've been on a hen weekend this weekend and I've had tons if alcohol but still not stimming so don't feel too bad. I've had a great time anyway. Back to healthy living tomorrow!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 23/02/2014 08:50

B4by yay to your 5 beautiful embies. Sending lots of growing and dividing vibes to them x

Res did you have a good night out, hope you've managed to avoid a hangover!

Stars Grin at posting under the influence. I try to avoid my phone at all costs when I've had a drink as I'm terrified of what I might do!

Brooker how fab that you are doing unmedicated. I've no idea how it works though! Do they just track ovulation?

I was in a bad way yesterday, I'm amazed I managed to write such a long post. I think I may have still been slightly pissed. I went out clubbing with loads of our uni friends for my DH's birthday. We didn't get home until 04:30 Shock I still feel like crap this morning. My whole body aches from throwing myself around the dance floor like a 20 year old.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 23/02/2014 08:51

Turq hope you had fun on the hen weekend. I'm also back to clean living tomorrow. I'm too old for all this partying Grin

wishwash · 23/02/2014 10:42

I'm kinda torn between envy that you guys went out and had such a good time and smugness that I feel completely unhungover! still got the cold though so my nose is stuffed with thick snot, my throat feels like I've swallowed a porcupine and my mouth smells like I've been sucking on a skunk but HA! No hangover for me! Grin

starsandmoonandback · 23/02/2014 11:10

Wish...I have a hangover Hmm

wishwash · 23/02/2014 11:40

(Teehee)

nobeer · 23/02/2014 13:12

I'm feeling a bit hungover too. I was only drinking shandy! [lightweight emoticon]

starsandmoonandback · 23/02/2014 16:05

I'm still suffering....Shock

vallinnapod · 23/02/2014 16:13

Loving the hangover action...I had a hideous on for most of yesterday. More lack of sleep...

TMI alert. So, 4 days left on this packet of the pill and I have had heavy spotting/light bleeding. Brown blood enough to wear a pad not not enough to change it. Consultant on hols but he sent me a holding email to say just to continue as is and to get in touch with him when he is back (a week Monday). Anyone had anything similar?

wishwash · 23/02/2014 16:42

vall I didn't ever have brown blood on the pill but I do with some of the ivf medication. In my case it was an irritated cervix caused by the hormones so maybe that's what you have? Or the last of your period. I hope it'll stop soon for you xxx

starsandmoonandback · 23/02/2014 18:24

Sorry Val, I've never taken the pill during a cycle of ivf. Hope it's nothing to worry about. Can't the pill cause spotting sometimes?

nobeer · 23/02/2014 18:52

Hi Val. It's been party central on the Egg Buddies thread this weekend! I think I had some spotting and breakthrough bleeding, I think it's not uncommon with the pill or other hormonal contraceptives. Will you stop taking the pill for a week then go for a baseline scan? I guess they'll be able to see then if it's all ok. Are you NHS or private? They might do an early scan if you're worried.

B4byPlease · 23/02/2014 19:34

Hi, just wondering how many people on this tread got a BFP from their first IVF? Or knows anyone who has?
