I know its only just the start of August but my next AF is not due until 5th September ish.

Sorry to hear AF has arrived for others that have to join me but here's hoping for lots of BFP's this month.

coggy · 20/08/2006 18:43

LOL at your list Natty!!!
Sounds like you can't possibly fail this month!!!

Our poor DHs don't stand a chance do they!!!!!

MrsMcJnr · 20/08/2006 19:03

Hello ladies! Having such a frustrating time, computer is playing up and it has taken me 40 minutes to post but you/re worth it .

Can hardly contain my excitement for you Wanta, superb! Well done! Yipee! Congratulations! Is that our 1st EBFP (love the term!) this month? Getting those good vibes!

Andi ? Hope you are feeling better now.

Babymad ? Fingers crossed that you?ve cracked it! I tried one of my OVKs this morning as TCOYF software told me that today was my peak day (most bizarre, only CD9 and last month OV on CD16) anyway, there was nothing showing on the OVK so I am not there yet (which is just as well as DH still has a bad back!). Started on the cough mixture this morning though just in case. I don?t think you can ovulate more than once in a cycle though in a small % of cycles 2 or more eggs can be released during OV always within 24 hours of each other and can lead to fraternal twins.

Desperate ? are you serious re the handstand? Really? LOL ? superb! You?ll be missed but do come back soon and good luck with the diet.

Sideways ? interesting re the starflower oil, can you tell us more?

Hello BBWBabeLisa, nice to have you with us and best of luck TTC for baby no 2.

Coggy ? do you take any nutritional supplements to increase the length of the luteul phase? I was reading a bit in Toni?s book last night about them.

NattyandThomas ? glad our chatting helped and things are sounding good for you! Fingers crossed!

Hi Natty ? love the magic beans! Hope AF arrives soon for you. I am interested in the green tea too as I drink tons of that. Make sure that the cough syrup only has the guafinessin as the active ingredient as some other ingredients can have the opposite effect.

Heard something funny yesterday ? my friend has been told that you need to have an orgasm to get pregnant as it then creates a vacuum to suck up the sperm (sorry TMI) she was exclaiming that that put even more pressure on her!

Babydust to all???????.

Natty1806 · 20/08/2006 20:48

i know i think i will have covered everything recommended all in one month

TMI question - you know when a man has pre cum was playing with it today and think it is near on the same as EWCM so this must help the little swimmers when the shoot out?

...the things i say .x

OP posts:
NattyandThomas · 20/08/2006 21:01

lmao... the things you say natty...

estimating that ov was aprox 2 weeks ago... and im getting some signs already...however may just be because i am looking for them. i was convinced i was preg last month, but no such luck.

TMI question (sheild your eyes for the faint hearted)... with my 1st preg i got a foul smell down below.. no matter how many showers. is this common? cos its happing again last few days.. pos sign? sorry again for TMI but i have to ask else i wont know! feel free to ignore guys xxx

Natty1806 · 20/08/2006 21:16

Not a clue Natty & thomas, fingers crossed the signs are not in your head like mine always are. LOL

hiya all

wantababynow huge huge congrats. am so so so pleased for you .

Hope everyone is ok? well we've been talking about things really and as we're thinking about moving to be closer to dh's job, we feel that we're going to have to seriously think about just biting the bullet and selling all the baby clothes/toys/furniture, as we're not realistically going to be having another baby. DH is going to take the fertility plus though and see what his next result is, and if there's no change then we're just going to sell everything, no point really holding on to it for "what if". so, will be selling lots of things over the next few months.

NattyandThomas · 20/08/2006 21:52

sorry to hear u have lost hope sweetheart. chin up, we are all thinking off you xxxx

wannaBe1974 · 20/08/2006 22:02

thank you

tbh although I do think it's very sad, I think that it's been a long time coming, there has to come a time when you realize it's just not going to happen. We've been ttc for nearly 17 months now, dh has been diagnosed with a low sperm count, so we know there is a problem, I don't want to go down the route, so the only alternative is acceptance that it's just not going to happen. I do stay on here because .. well once you join there's no escape but as others will tell you, I've said for a long time now that i realize it's just not going to happen for me. I do have one ds already, so I have so much more than some on here.

NattyandThomas · 20/08/2006 22:12

well said hun hugs

Babymad4num3 · 20/08/2006 22:23

Quick question how long dose a pos ov-test stay/last for?
Just in case I ovulate twice this month I want to keep testing, bad thing or good thing?
I think that way I can keep a closer eye on what body is up2!
Quick update: want to BD one last time 2nite "seal the deal" as a website I read once said lol. CD9 today! I OVed last month on CD11 and this month CD7 getting less and less I think, don't know what is going on there!
Hope everyone is well and BDing lots . Here to lots of pos preggy test this month girls!

Babymad4num3 · 20/08/2006 22:54

andi0411 · 21/08/2006 00:16

Hi ladies- I know it's late but I wanted to check in with you all- feels odd if I don't...dp says I'm an addict...it's true!!!
Welcome to Happyhippy- you're in the right place!!
Babymad- I don't know the ans to your q's but someone will in the morning I'm sure.
Wanna- sorry to hear your news- I don't know your story but I guess that your not looking to Artificial Insem as an option? I feel for you but as you say you have your lovely ds and are so lucky already.[hug]
Thanks to Mrs Mc- I'm better now- lol at your friends orgasm statement. Can you imagine if you had to have an orgasm to conceive- well i guess there'd be alot less kids out there...going by what some women say...
xx
ps/ cd 21 today-monday- waiting until cd32 to test....oh pleaseee

wannaBe1974 · 21/08/2006 07:35

hiya all

babymad it's not possible to ovulate twice in one month but it is possible to have more than one lh surge, and that is why a lot of gp's/fertility experts don't recommend using OPK's as they detect lh surge and thus can be deceptive.

There is some truth in the orgasm statement, not that you have to have an orgasm, but that if you have an orgasm this causes your cervics to contract so to speak, and to draw in the sperm, or so I've heard..

pendulum · 21/08/2006 08:12

Hi Babymad,
it looks to me as though the temp spike on CD6 was caused by something else (taking temp a bit later? having a glass of wine or going to the gym the night before?)

The temp shift that signifies ov isn't recognised until you've had three consecutive temps raised above your coverline. The shift occurs 24-36 hours post-ov so it's just possible that your stick was right and your temp will go up tomorrow.

Are you also checking CM because that is the best and most obvious indicator IMO.

HTH- I did my first month's charting last month and have read SO much stuff about it to try to interpret my readings! Thought it wasn't working at first cos my chart was a bit erratic, but when I finally got the temp shift on CD22 it was very obvious- wnet up from a coverline of 36.2 to 36.6 and stayed there until arrival of AF yesterday

MrsMcJnr · 21/08/2006 10:01

Morning ladies - just checking in. CD10 for me today. Blunt pains in my lower left hand side and when I pressed, something groaned! My ovary can talk! (very silly, sorry!)

Wannabe - don't know what to say, you are being so brave and your DH must be quite a guy, it must be a hard thing for a man to take. All the best to you. I stand corrected on the orgasm front, I think I'll add 3 per BD to my charter of demands this month then!

Natty - your obsessed! But I think I am getting there too, I had a dream featuring EWCM last night, can you imagine!?

Babymad - I'm with Pendulum, sounds like you might have had a false start judging by the temps and that you have yet to OV, keep up the BDing!

Hello HappyHippy and welcome.

Hello to all the other ladies and babydust to all.................................

Babymad4num3 · 21/08/2006 10:50

Pendulum I don't drink I no boring, I don't go to the gym, I did kickboxing but I stopped going about a month ago. I did nothing unusual and a pos-ov-test the next day, is the reason why I'm thinking I must of OV-ed!
I will keep ov-testing and taking temp.
All this TTC and the tick's with the wired and wonderful thing is a lot to take in!
Also been checking CM but on the day I had a pos-ov-test I was dry, soz if TMI but I did just come off A/F!

wannaBe1974 I'm glad about the orgasm thing but dose it count when you orgasm before DH? If not dam!

Hope everyone is well and thinking pos for September and getting pos-test's!

MrsMcJnr · 21/08/2006 11:30

Good point Babymad - Re orgasms, I shall be keping that to myself and not letting on to DH if it has to be after him!! .

I symapthise with the confusion by the way. My temp is up this morning by .3 and so it has distorted my chart as that takes me over my coverline, no EWCM and no positive on the OPK so I just have to assume that I am not there yet.

Last month I charted for the first time. My cycle was 27 days and OV on CD16 and it was all quite clear (though not really EWCM). The cycle before that (my first after coming off the pill after 18 years) was only 23 days and have not got a clue if I OVd or not! Nature still keeps us guessing though doesn't it as we cannot be 100% sure that we OVd until after the event!

Babymad4num3 · 21/08/2006 12:27

So far my chart is off, way off, so until after the event doesn't count for me, I'll have more luck with pin the tail on the donkey! (which his whole TTC is becoming very much like lol) My temp is back to 36.4, I don't know what my body is upto, oh well, You never know I might have got it right this month but if not, there will be one month I will . Might have to make my DH a sex slave but I think he'll like that anyway

timeforanother · 21/08/2006 12:40

Hi, af arrived yesterday, so skipping across from the Aug thread. Will take me a while to read back down this one so bear with me if I post anything daft! Coggy, sorry to read about your ds on the other thread, really hope it's your turn soon.

ShowOfHands · 21/08/2006 13:27

Hello all,

Just dropping in quickly during my lunch break to see how you all are.

Sorry to see a few people coming over from the August threads iyswim, but welcome anyway!

Wannabe, you sound like a very brave lady. I really hope this isn't the end of ttc for you and your dh.

Babymad, my temp can sometimes spike like yours for no apparent reason. I don't drink at all and I sleep well most nights but occasionally it just shoots up or down at random. I don't bother with ov prediction kits, I just wait for EWCM and ov pains to coincide on roughly day 11 or 12 and pin dh to the bed. I agree with Pendulum, my charts can look a wee bit erratic, but with hindsight it's easy to see the rise after ovulation and the bloody drop as af rolls up. I think varitions inbetween are completely normal.

Anyway CD9 for me today so still relaxed about it all. Still got a positive feeling about this month! Plus, we have looked at our finances this weekend and worked out that we can finally get a mortgage. We have got a deposit together at last and we can start house hunting (currently renting). Would be nice to have our own place before we have our first baby, though not sure I need the stress of house hunting whilst ttc.

Hope you're all well, monsoon season has started outside. Is it sunny anywhere in the UK?

Loads of love and luck to you all...

ShowOfHands · 21/08/2006 13:28

variations

tsk

pendulum · 21/08/2006 13:36

Hi there SOH, great news about the house hunting! If you take it easy and have somewhere stable to rent in the meantime, it can be a lot of fun as well as stressful in parts. What kind of place do you think you are after?
