Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

You can do it by charting, analysing, testing, and worrying, but we prefer... JUST SHAGGING PART 20!!

Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture!

lil1ady · 20/02/2014 13:34

Thanks fury Grin

so, I was wondering if greasy hair could be a symptom. Dr goofle seems to think so!

DulcetMoans · 20/02/2014 13:40

Poor DH furry! I've never used any but heard people talk about Conceive Plus as well?

Everything is a symptom lil! In fact, we should check if the nut scratching could be one too! Those fellas might have sympathy symptoms!

DulcetMoans · 20/02/2014 13:43

Post too soon...

So, friend has posted a mumsnet link on facebook. I really want to tell her i'm in the club too but can't out myself! She is recently with child so unlikely to be on conception boards. Probably...

MissHobart · 20/02/2014 13:58

You can get balance active at Tesco!

Arf @ Night-Time nut scratching! Grin

MissHobart · 20/02/2014 13:59

Dulcet - don't out yourself, I see this as my safe place! often tempting to link to fb or tell someone about something in here but I always manage to resist!

FurryScoob · 20/02/2014 16:32

Thanks ladies I'll have a look at those, nice to see you've had a good laugh at DP's nuts! Grin

I'm another secret mumsnet user, this threads like a safe cave I can hide in when the clunky mothers of the world are getting too much!

lil1ady · 20/02/2014 18:13

Redshoes56 · 20/02/2014 21:57

Well, one of my employees just told me she's pregnant! I want to hate her, but she's so sweet that I just can't help but be happy for her. And she hasn't even told her parents yet so I feel sort of honored to know so early. Of course, I was looking to her to be my #2 if and when I end up out on maternity leave, so there goes that plan Hmm. Hopefully this is Sod's Law at work -- I will get pregnant with my transfer next month and we'll end up going out at the same time and give my boss a heart attack! Right?!

Nut-scratching...teeheee....!

JuniperJones · 20/02/2014 22:04

Well, I'm going to test again tomorrow morning, so don't get too excited but looks like michonne's secret hopes may come true. Got a BFP this evening.

I wasn't with DH so when I told him and suggested I test again this evening he said "I think you should wait til the morning, y'know, for the good wee." We have been in this game a while!

Redshoes56 · 20/02/2014 22:32

juniper!!!!!! That is EFFING awesome news. Sniff, sniff. And laughing re: "the good wee."

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 20/02/2014 22:54

I bloody KNEW you were, call it vibes over tinernet. That, and you saying that you were on CD 30 with cramping.... Wink

Really happy for you Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

JuniperJones · 20/02/2014 23:05

Thank you. Grin I am quietly excited and bricking it at the same time. Net result = calm! I'm just so aware of all the things that can go wrong, having had the molar pregnancy, but hoping after waiting so long this is ok. Fingers crossed. Already feeling like I imagined the BFP tonight (was an IC I threw away!!!) so will post again in the morning.

DulcetMoans · 20/02/2014 23:14

Oh looking forward to checking again in the morning then juniper, fx for you. If its another BFP get a digi! See it in writing!

I need the seed tonight but not sure it's going to happen. Already had 'cant we do it tomorrow?'...

lil1ady · 20/02/2014 23:37

congrats juniper! looking forward to the "good wee" report Grin . try not to let the molar pg cloud your enjoyment of this one. Thanks

Nessalina · 20/02/2014 23:41

Hello there. Been AWOL for a while partly because of work and partly because there was nothing happening and needed a rest from it all.

Congratulations Juniper! Grin

So I just wanted to update you all with where we're up to now. We went to the clinic last week and we're on our way to IVF central! Obviously we'd rather it happened naturally but it doesn't look like it's going to now. Anyway, after mucho faffing on the part of the NHS, we are now on our way. I had my AMH blood test and I have very good ovarian reserve. We had the whole process explained to us and it all seems ok. Trying not to think of the drugs or side effects or the fact it might not work. it's mammoth but it does mean we have a chance of me getting pregnant this year! Smile I really just hope it works! We should be able to start down-regging next cycle after this one as my period will probably come before the drugs appointment. It would also work out well for work better for me if we waited til March. I'm trying so hard not to get excited but then I am allowed a little bit, aren't I?

Red- I'm guessing you've done all this as you were talking about egg transferral? Really hoping Baby Red is just round the corner for you. Smile

Redshoes56 · 21/02/2014 00:56

bear Bear! I was JUST thinking about you today on my drive home, and here you are. Isn't that weird? You should definitely be excited this is a big step after a long journey, and hopefully sets you on a fast path to your final destination very quickly. Boy, am I cheesy or what? It's great to hear that your ovarian reserve is where it needs to be that is very promising. I just finished my second round of IVF and, once again, we had slowpoke embryos that wouldn't be ready in time for a fresh transfer, so they had to be frozen. They're good quality though, just waiting on the genetics report. I'll start my frozen transfer cycle in about a month, probably about when you'll start IVF!

Listen: It is NOT THAT BAD. The worst part, honestly, is the waiting -- and you and I are experts at that by now. The shots are completely manageable, and the retrieval procedure is no big deal. You are going to be great. I am rooting for you to knock it out of the park on the first go-around! If you need to vent or need advice or just want to go into serious detail about any of it - I'd be glad to private message (if I could just figure it out) or share my email.

Minion · 21/02/2014 07:13

juniper brilliant awesome news! I look forward to reading it for sure tonight!
I'm still in limbo land.. Breadsticks getting biggest but no soreness, just a feeling on the skin when something irritates you. Husband said last night that my left nipple was going darker. Still minor cramps a and a bruised tummy feeling and hungry, so very hungry.
This is a cruel month x

aylesburyduck · 21/02/2014 07:36

morningGrin

juniper what news!!!! utterly amazeballs. You must have had a wee by now. what's the good wee verdict?

JuniperJones · 21/02/2014 08:04

Morning. Thanks for all the congrats, I can't quite believe it's me! Massive hugs all round and special ones for bear and red, things are happening.

Well, it's another positive test on an IC - this was 4.30am wee as I seem to have insomnia this week. GRRR.
Gonna get a "posh" one over the weekend and do that on Sunday.

I hope you don't mind if I stick around a bit longer - I'm not even going to look at any of that due date stuff or anything for a while. Now off to work where I have a meeting with awful colleague and will have to try not to lose my temper on 5 hours sleep...

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 21/02/2014 08:26

Great to hear this morning confirmed it for you Juniper.

You'll be riding on a wave of secret happiness today, so hopefully the annoying colleague will just bounce off your invisible happy shield! Don't let it get to you, you have far bigger and better things to focus on right now.

And of course you're still welcome on the thread, keep telling us what zita says until I've managed to read some more (I'm still getting through the intro, which seems to be mainly saying don't stress or obsess) and keep giving out hooyas to the rest of us!

Minion your symptoms sound interesting... As your cycle buddy, I have zero symptoms, apart from a dodgy stomach which always happens after icing. But I'm keeping my eye on you, sounds promising!

lil1ady · 21/02/2014 08:50

ooh minion you may have just been blessed with the inner knowledge of michonne! let's hope she's on a solid prediction streak!

bear its good to hear from you. glad you are finally moving through the system. I too have fx that it will all work perfectly first time for you. you've waited so long, your patience is that of a good, forget saint! I'm going insane waiting for dhs second as results so if we end up in ivf I may die of the waiting before we get there! keep us updated Smile
