Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

Hi tinks! Fx for SMEP! Guess you'll be in the two week wait soon then?

I have a question! What do you consider to be an irregular cycle? I would have thought I was quite regular at 27-29 days but doc has marked me down as irregular for that. I can range 26-32 but generally fall between 27-29 but in my min irregular is a much bigger range than that!

Bearfacedchic · 25/01/2014 16:30

My cycle is almost identical to yours Dulcet and I was told at the hospital by two different registrars (as I of course had to give all my details twice- they couldn't have just read my file, could they?) that most women are irregular, so there's irregular and then there's irregular IYSWIM. Very few women are bang on the same each month. It's a bit of a myth that all women are, a bit like the 'all women ovulate on day14 myth' from what I can tell. Anyway, unless it's attached to other significant problems, the doctors didn't seem to think it was a problem. Hope this helps x

lil1ady · 25/01/2014 16:45

Hi tinks gl with SMEP

dulcet mine vary massively from 30-37 days as I never ov the same day each month. My doctor thought that was fine. Perhaps them marking irregular is to do with the length of your cycles sometimes being shorter than "average" for want of a better word. I wouldn't let it worry you, if anything it will mean they will do more testing and be more thorough so it should work to your advantage. Are they repeating your progesterone test?

bumpkin85 · 25/01/2014 19:40

Good evening. I have been pretty obsessed with this website for the last couple of months. After reading about everyone else's posts I felt a bit guilty about not having at least said hello. I'm 28, and now 4 months free from the Depo job. Me and hubs are ttc, but after reading other Depo posts I think we have a long haul in front of us. Anyways, HELLO, and good luck ladies.

beetlehope · 25/01/2014 22:55

Hi bumpkin.
Had to google what depo was!
I've never tried injections as pill made me either crazy - dianette - or throw up - any other brand!

I ve come to think ladies that it will never happen. We Dtd about 5 times across ov (supposing I did) but after my fun little bleed it's safe to say I am out. I used to think one shag and I was preggers- but now I don't even hope ertd won't come as I know it bloody will (excuse the pun)
Maybe it's like fairies u have to believe in it or it won't happen;(

lil1ady · 26/01/2014 00:12

hi bumpkin

beetle its shit isn't it. I know what you mean about not hoping ertd won't come. I've felt like that for the last 4 months. I've saved a lot of pee sticks though! we have to try and keep positive though or it will eat away at us. I know its easier said than done, I'm still working on taking my own advice. feeling a bit better today though. how long have you been trying? I'd check roll call but its so far back now!

JuniperJones · 26/01/2014 00:27

hi all, new name, hi newbies.

Well, tonight I was out with old schoolfriends - I am the only childless one there so loads of baby chat. One woman is pregnant with a "surprise" after managing contraception for 10 years (oh, the bullshit, how it stinks). She asked me if I was broody. I said it was a long story. She asked if it would make her cry, I said it would. We changed the subject.

This kind of thing would've made me cry not so long ago but now I just feel pissed off. Why do people ask these stupid questions? I don't have kids, no, but doesn't mean I don't want them, doesn't mean I haven't been trying and the YEARS of heartbreak I've been through is something they are damn lucky to never have to experience.

Anyway, got that off my chest. Thanks for listening!

Nessalina · 26/01/2014 01:49

Evening all Smile hello to the newbies!
I'm with you Juniper - why to people ask questions about babies? When is it ever appropriate?! What did they get called further down the thread, it was a Bear typo I think...
Questikins! The cutesy-smalltalk-idiot questions that seem designed to upset/offend! They can all bugger off Angry

babytinks89 · 26/01/2014 07:04

Well since i fell preg last august, i was constantly over lapping my pill... I think i had 2 periods out of the whole year, not great i know.. So i found it really surprising falling pregnant after missing my pill for 2 days the start of aug, got my af then next min i'm pregnant lol..
So since i've only had 2 cycels, decmbers which after my mc i got my af back 37 days!! Then af just came after that one and was late with 34 days, so i have no idea what the hell my cycle length is but i am totally irregular!! If i base mine as before when i did track it i was averaging between 28-30.... So why i've bought ovulation tests to do this month so i dont miss it with being right out of the range i think i might be in....

So yup 2 weeks wait near for me!!
GrinGrinGrin I hope it's a good one

lil1ady · 26/01/2014 09:44

ah juniper you shoulda punched her! I suppose the fact you've moved on from upset to pissed of is a good thing though, no? I swear the next person to throw a questikin my way is getting the response "I want nothing more in my life than a child but we are both infertile and also found I only have 3 months to live" total be but the awkwardness they would feel would cheer me up!

tinks have you read the op? opks are contraband! doesn't mean none of us ever do them, but we don't focus on them in this thread

bumpkin85 · 26/01/2014 10:23

Hi Beetle and lil1ady

I chose the jab because my memory span is shocking and I knew I would forget to take the pill. And when it stopped my periods I thought it was amazing. BUT I was never told that my sex drive would pretty much disappear and when I did want to ttc It could take up to 2 years for my body to get back into a regular cycle. I should of done more research, and perhaps not trusted my GP so much.

MissHobart · 26/01/2014 10:30

Bump - I was on it for years and years, LOVED having no AF! I knew it could add up to a year to ttc so came off it four years ago, being forward thinking doesn't seem to have helped though Hmm

bumpkin85 · 26/01/2014 10:44

Well I should of had my last jab end of September 2013. About a month ago my boobs got really sore, and this week I had my first cramps in 8 years. Bloody hell did they hurt, I had almost forgotten what they felt like. The old hot water bottle was a life saver. I have read posts where ladies conceive within 2 months of coming off Depo, and others years. Have you got your regular cycle back ?

cookielove · 26/01/2014 10:53

bump I was on the depo for almost 2 years, I came off it accidentally about a year before I got married. Forgot to go get it and only remembered two weeks later Blush turns out it was the best thing for me as we wanted to ttc after the wedding and it took 7 months for
me to get my period and then a couple more months for it to settle into a more natural cycle.

MissHobart · 26/01/2014 10:56

I came off it four years ago after being on it for about 6! Had no idea what a normal cycle was for me but it maybe took a few months? I went straight onto a copper coil which made the cramps horrendous! Been off any contraception fit the last year.

bumpkin85 · 26/01/2014 11:19

I really wish I had come off sooner. But early last year I had no maternal instincts, no broodiness, even my 3 year old niece who has the face of an angel wouldn't even make my heart melt. And I guess about autumn time my broodiness kicked in. I have found it a bit weird having spent such a long time actively preventing pregnancy, now I really want it.

mrsb87 · 26/01/2014 11:34

Bumkin I was on the depo for 2 years and it was horrid! I put on so much weight as it stopped me from ever being full and completely ruined my sex drive!

bumpkin85 · 26/01/2014 11:45

Hi MrsB. Yes same here. I used to be a svelte size 10, loads of energy and healthy sex drive. Then Depo came along and I'm now a size 14 and only just getting my sex drive back. Never again ! At least we know the cause of it, and won't make the mistake again.

mrsb87 · 26/01/2014 12:17

Certainly won't! Is everyone having a nice sunday? I'm debating an afternoon of baking

Bearfacedchic · 26/01/2014 12:29

Got a tiny bit of spotting here this morning so guess I'm out too.

Oh Beetle Lil and Juniper- I totally concur. It's all a big bugger. Not enough hands. will have to become Octobear!

babytinks89 · 26/01/2014 12:43

Ok... So cd9 for me today, dtd starts tonight!! So do you girls recommend shagging every night or every other night?
I just dont know when i would be ovulating plus dh is nightshift mon-fri so gonna have to jump on him before i leave for my own work haha!

bumpkin85 · 26/01/2014 12:46

I might do some baking, but I have been lacking on the house work so gotta do that first. Hubby is meant to be refitting bathroom, but the PS4 seems to take priority.

babynugget · 26/01/2014 14:22

Afternoon viroids! Nursing a hangover here - I know I know alcohol is evil but seemed like a good idea at the time. So now trying to deal with the torture that is AF and the hangover from hell. Got a shed load of work to do for tomorrow and the house is like a pig sty. And I couldn't even take advantage of DP's hangover horn this morning. Poor poor me. Anyway have been interested in the Depo talk. I was on it briefly (can't remember when I came off it but now think I should try and find out). It was great at first but I started bleeding every time we dtd. Docs solution was to take the pill as well as the Depo?!?! That's when I came off birth control all together. Did anyone else have the bleeding thing when they were on it?

bumpkin85 · 26/01/2014 14:42

Hi Baby. I think I maybe had 2 more periods after my first jab and that was it. I never bled dtd. Sorry not much help really.

babynugget · 26/01/2014 14:51

Thanks bumpkin I didn't think much of it at the time. Thought it was just a nasty side effect but now wondering if it was an indicator of something else (paranoid much?).
