Um hello, newbie, ttc, needing a place to talk to people :)

Fruityb · 05/01/2014 20:23

I've been reading the site for ages but decided to sign up as need an outlet and place to talk as ttc is quite secret and it's not something I have loads of people I could talk about it with. Plus I'm quite shy and my ovaries aren't something to bring up at social gatherings!
I'm 31, came off pill in October and me and boyfriend have been ttc since. I didn't know how long it would take to get back to normal as had been on pill for eleven years. Turns out it took four weeks, and am now on third AF since coming off, so annoyingly normal in one way! I'm getting my head round all this tracking stuff but don't want it all to get clinical with the fella as it takes the fun away!
So just wanted to say hi and hopefully share in people's stories. It's not all as straightforward as I always thought, and I'm always the one that would start panicking something was wrong with me. I'm pleased I found somewhere I can just write it down if nothing else.
So, hi, and hopefully can take some good advice away.

Lol it will happen when it happen duh I meant it will happen when the time is right. Ha x

misskgb · 18/02/2014 23:43

Ive noticed twinges n that stabbing pain I mentioned plus feel really bloated but very early days in the tww so trying not to read too much in to it. Dh discovered the pink pad app yday n found it very amusing!

Af is due when im in London which is a bummer but ive got to remember not to get too upset if she does arrive this month or at least do a better job of hiding it!

Ladymillion · 19/02/2014 13:39

Okay so I've been using up the rest of my cheap ovulation tests whilst in the TWW and I have had a very positive test both yesterday and today on CD33/34?! I've heard you can get positive OPKs just before AF? But also it could just be very late ovulation. Just going to DTD daily over next few days anyway just in case. Don't you just wish we could see what was going on in there?! By the way I've also got a BFN (or two, or three... ) So the OPKs are not picking up HCG as I understand they sometimes do Hmm

Helen87 · 19/02/2014 14:26

No idea Lady, but that would be very very late in your cycle to be OV?! It's all so complicated isn't it.

Fingers crossed for you misskgb. Really hope this is your month. Feels like no time at all you were saying you were out last cycle. Suppose you have short cycles and I'm in an epic 3 week wait so makes sense!!

Still no news for me, getting ever closer to Saturday and test day though. Keep everything crossed for me :)

misskgb · 19/02/2014 16:09

I've literally got everything crossed! Epic- love it!! I know, as soon as I come off AF I feel like it's time to dtd again and then before I know it the tww is here. Not rest at all!! haha

Ladymillion · 19/02/2014 21:13

According to my fertility app today (CD34) is when I should actually ovulate going by last months cycle (46 days!). I assumed 46 days was not the norm for me, but as I've never actually kept track I don't actually know! So maybe my cycles are naturally that long, who knows?

Anyway the plan is to DTD nonstop for a few days (Wink) then begin the 2WW again!! That's assuming the positive OPK doesn't mean AF imminent!

Will keep y'all informed... Brew

Ladymillion · 19/02/2014 21:14

Helen I have everything crossed (except my legs, obviously) for your BFP on Saturday!

Ladymillion · 19/02/2014 21:17

Misskgb have you seen the TMI pics on the pink pad app (the chat section)? Graphic pics of all kinds of cervical mucus hahahaha... I don't think I could ever upload a pic of my bodily fluids to the world! Grin

misskgb · 19/02/2014 21:21

Lady u make me chuckle-everything but your legs crossed!! I went on there once n the topic I stumbled across was 'how du react when dh wants to give u head' was too strange for me so left n came back here sharpish. Haven't seen the pix!!

Ladymillion · 19/02/2014 21:24

Haha misskgb I think u should venture back on there, just for a laugh! I think they are mostly Americans who post on there? I dunno. Whoever those women are they are much more weirder than we are so it's all good Smile

misskgb · 19/02/2014 21:45

Definitely agree with that-makes us all seem very normal!

Helen87 · 20/02/2014 06:40

Hahaha the pink pad app seems lovely! It's one thing to be discussing cm and another to be posting pictures isn't it!! I'm sure TTC makes women ridiculous open. I've never had conversations with people about cm until this point!!

Hahaha lady that made me laugh as well. Yes, please don't cross your legs for me, that wouldn't be helpful at all Wink!!

I'm still in TWW no mans land. No AF or AF symptoms, still going strong on the not testing until weekend!! I think it's actually easier the closer it's getting to weekend to hold off. At the beginning of the week it was painful!

weebairn · 20/02/2014 07:53

Helen I am on the edge of my seat, can't imagine how you feel! Like I said before I tested when my period was 6 days late and it was still very faint. Everything crossed for you.

The sickness is hideous now, and I am so tired I am going to bed at 8pm (thank fuck baby is sleeping through the night, even if she does get up at the crack of dawn - 5.45am this morning which is late for her!) Work and childcare are both horrendous. MAKE IT PASS! How are the other preggos doing? I am 8+5 now.

Hazelbrowneyes · 20/02/2014 09:47

Hmm. Cramps are not like last month at all. I had constant cramps for the week prior to AF and very low down. This time they've been a lot higher and have disappeared now. No nausea or body aches this time. Bloating yesterday and the day before but that's gone as well. I've also realised yesterdays cramps probably had a lot to do with eating an entire punnet of grapes Grin

I've now got sore boobs and one really, really sore nipple. OUCH.

I'm still convinced these are PMS symptoms though. I just don't feel like this month will be a lucky month. I've been so stressed and have drank wayyyy too much

Good luck for the weekend Helen!

misskgb · 20/02/2014 19:33

Im on the edge of my seat too weeb!! :-)

Gennz · 20/02/2014 22:26

Hi ladies I just wanted to pop my head in and see how you're all going! I'm 7dpo today ... I'm just trying not to obsess after POAS about 25 times last month (no exaggeration).

I had some weird pains very low in my abdomen the other night (about 5dpo) but other than that, nothing much symptom-wise. It's so weird because I had so many weird symptoms in last month's 2ww and was convinced I was preggers (despite the 25 BFNs!!).

How's everyone's countdowns til AF/BFP going? If my cycle goes back to the normal 28 days AF should be due 28 Feb... but it was 33 days last months so no idea when I should test! Def no earlier than the 1st!

misskgb · 21/02/2014 07:59

Im due on the 28th too Gemz. Lots of random twinges & pains but just trying to ignore them for now n c what next week brings.

Fx for you too. They say u can test as early as the day of your missed af but 1) difficult if you're not quite sure when that is n 2) we know from people on here it doesn't always show that early. It's pants hey!!

misskgb · 21/02/2014 08:05

www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/results-by-day-past-ovulation.php thought this was interesting so wanted to share x

Hazelbrowneyes · 21/02/2014 08:48

Hmm, yesterdays sore nipple turned into tingles in both nipples for a while but the left nipple still actually hurt. Got home, had a shower and noticed a bright red line heading towards my nipple. I've had this before and it turned out to be a cyst. No lump yet but it's now just a matter of time I think. This will be the 4th cyst in so many years. GAH! Although it is less painful today.

I'm full of cold as well now. I've dragged myself into work as I have clients in all day but I feel crap. Cannot wait to get home and get back to bed.

Definitely think AF is on its way. I feel drained and I've put on a few lbs, like last month. Boo.

I'm either 7dpo or 10dpo. I actually don't know what I'll do if AF doesn't show by Friday. I thought about testing on the 2nd but I'm actually scared Blush I thought about waiting until the 8th but I'm at a friends for dinner on the 7th and I feel like I should know by this point so I don't drink a bottle of wine and eat lots of yummy, stinky, gooey cheese

binkybunny · 21/02/2014 09:53

Hi all. Sounds like theres lots of fx-ing over the next wek or so. helen I'm getting so excited for you really hope its a BFP!

Weebairn I dont know how you manage to look after a toddler, I'm struggling looking after our house rabbit. I feel like I am dying! Roll on 12 weeks and hope sickness and exhausion goes away!

I have moved over to a pregnancy thread but I just prefer it on here. Think there might be too many hormones on the other one sometime ;-)

Lolly84 · 21/02/2014 10:43

Well I am feeling like AF is on its way. Total AF symptoms, my app says it should arrive tomorrow. I have been tracking cycles for about 6 months but this is only my second cycle ttc. I have never been in line with app but since ttc it's pretty bob on. Used to be 31 days but now 28 day. Weird. Does anyone feel a bit mentally drained from this? I am only 2 cycles in and think after next cycle I need to take a month break for my mind.

KikiThePea · 21/02/2014 16:24

Binky - you're a braver woman than I am. I'm staying here - lurking in the background. We should just start our own pregnancy thread like has been suggested before - then all the lovely girls from here can come over!
I feel like death (half way through week nine and it's actually gone up a whole few notches of awfulness since a couple of days ago). Oh well, birthday weekend time, and finally telling my parents tonight!

Fingers still crossed for you all!

Helen87 · 21/02/2014 19:03

Only got time for a quick message.

Kiki, bet it'll be lovely telling your parents. Let us know how you get on!

I have my FR waiting for tomorrow morning. I'm so scared. I'll be totally devastated if it's a bfn. I'll let you all know ASAP. Thanks for all the well wishes!!!xxSmileSmile

binkybunny · 21/02/2014 20:15

Just remember Helen if its a BFN dont give up hope until AF arrives!

Kiki do you feel like it cant get any worse then every week does? It will be so lovely telling your parents. My mum has been great!

Helen87 · 21/02/2014 20:49

I'll be on CD37 tomorrow, so surely if it's a bfn there's not really any more hope?!
