I've been reading the site for ages but decided to sign up as need an outlet and place to talk as ttc is quite secret and it's not something I have loads of people I could talk about it with. Plus I'm quite shy and my ovaries aren't something to bring up at social gatherings!
I'm 31, came off pill in October and me and boyfriend have been ttc since. I didn't know how long it would take to get back to normal as had been on pill for eleven years. Turns out it took four weeks, and am now on third AF since coming off, so annoyingly normal in one way! I'm getting my head round all this tracking stuff but don't want it all to get clinical with the fella as it takes the fun away!
So just wanted to say hi and hopefully share in people's stories. It's not all as straightforward as I always thought, and I'm always the one that would start panicking something was wrong with me. I'm pleased I found somewhere I can just write it down if nothing else.
So, hi, and hopefully can take some good advice away.

Misskgb- yeah definitely. Think it gives you a bit of perspective when something like that happens doesn't it.

Lady- don't blame you, hopefully you're not waiting too long for your answer!!

Well AF day has arrived and so far nothing to report. One more day to go!!

Helen87 · 14/02/2014 07:06

P.s. happy valentines day everyone SmileSmile

Wilsy79 · 14/02/2014 08:00

Well... I did a test but came back negative although I've been told doing it 4 days before you may be due on isn't always accurate so god knows. I think I made the mistake of assuming my initial bleed immediately after stopping my pill was my cycle returning to normal but I've realised it was probably a breakthrough bleed so god knows whether I'll come on this weekend or not. I feel better for doing the test tho... Gave me a little peace of mind!

Hazelbrowneyes · 14/02/2014 08:30

Fingers crossed for you Helen!

I think I may have missed ovulation this month. I’ve been waiting for severe cramps like the last two months and haven’t had them so knowing our luck, we’ve missed the right time!

An app predicted I’d OV on CD15, now CD18 and I have no idea if I’ve ovulated yet. I had cramps on CD16 & CD17 so that could have been it. EWCM arrived on CD12.

DTD on CD11, CD12, CD14, CD15, CD17.

I’m already disappointed as I have a feeling this is going to take us a long time but equally a bit relieved that I don’t have a definite date of ovulation so I can’t symptom spot this month!

I’m not expecting AF to arrive on CD28 this month (25th Feb) so I think I’ll be holding off testing until after CD32 if she doesn’t arrive in the meantime.

Helen87 · 14/02/2014 15:56

Wilsy- yeah that's the break through bleed. You have to ovulate to have a normal cycle, which you can't do whilst still on the pill! Hopefully you'll be back to normal soon though and I'm glad that you feel slightly better after POAS!

Hazel- yeah I am going off a 28 day cycle, which I had last month, but no idea if I will have this month or not! Sounds like you have covered quite a large area with those dates though so fingers crossed!

I'll be testing with fmu, unless AF shows up between now and then. It's probably going to be a bfn, but at least I feel like I'm in the game for a bit longer this month!!

Hazelbrowneyes · 14/02/2014 16:01

Hmm. I think I could be ovulating today. Horrendous cramps, almost like AF is about to turn up.

Got everything crossed for you Helen! Lets hope Feb is a lucky month for us Smile

Helen87 · 14/02/2014 16:05

Thank you Hazel, massive fingers crossed for us both. You going to dtd today just in case?!

Hazelbrowneyes · 14/02/2014 16:15

I've suggested it in a sort of "Oh...Valentine's Day..." sort of way but DH sees straight through me Grin

I don't want to push it too much as I don't want it to feel like a chore like it did for both of us yesterday especially as it's only month 2.

misskgb · 14/02/2014 20:53

I feel really tight today in a bloated kind of way so wonder if im ov-ing. App says today is the day so about to embark on the tww again. Will dtd a couple more times for good measure :-) 24 day cycles are tough to cope with pain wise but at least ov comes back around a lil bit quicker!

Helen87 · 15/02/2014 02:24

Misskgb- tww seems to have come round fast again for you! This is probably the only time in our lives we'll wish for af time to hurry the f up isn't it!

Hazel- hahaha can't blame dh for seeing through you! Hope you managed to seduce him!!!

Can't believe I am awake at this time. Going to be even more annoyed at my bfn in the morning now!!

Helen87 · 15/02/2014 07:27

bfn Sad !!!

weebairn · 15/02/2014 07:40

Sorry Helen.
Any sign of period?
My line was very faint even 6 days after period. Maybe try again mid week? Fingers still crossed for you.

Helen87 · 15/02/2014 07:46

No still no signs of period so I'm not totally out yet! Yeah will test again mid week if still no sign!

Helen87 · 15/02/2014 07:46

thanks for the advice!

Helen87 · 15/02/2014 08:55

What kind of test did you all get your BFP on?! Wondering whether to get a FR in case AF doesn't show up for a bit?!

Ladymillion · 15/02/2014 10:11

BFN too! Did an IC and a FR Hmm

And so the frustration begins...

misskgb · 15/02/2014 11:03

What's IC and FR (apart from them being tests?!)

Helen-I still have faith. Maybe it's just too early yet.

Yeah it does come round quick. I only have about 10 days between the start of one af and the next tww beginning. That means only a couple of days between af disappearing n needing to start dtd again. Glad I've got my app so not constantly counting days!!

misskgb · 15/02/2014 11:04

Oh, and booooo Lady! :-(

KikiThePea · 15/02/2014 11:37

Boo boo boo to the bfns!

I got the first (thought I had line eye) bfp on a clearblue standard test (the one with the blue crosses). The FR gave a much better line a few hours later, and this was in the evening so I wasn't expecting much. The clearblue digital took quite a few days to agree and give a bfp. Overall I think the First Response ones have been better, but that's just me, and I know of people who swear by Superdrug ones.

I know they tell you to use fmu for most of the tests, but the day of my bfp I got a bfn in the morning and the bfp around 6pm - I guess it just had more time to build up in my body, so maybe next time test in the evening instead?

Still keeping my fingers crossed for you all!

Ladymillion · 15/02/2014 13:14

Misskgb IC - internet cheapie and FR - First Response Wink

Ladymillion · 15/02/2014 13:16

Helen was this your first POAS moment? It's sooo depressing seeing that lonely line isn't it haha oh well it's not over yet, all we can do is chill and WAIT Confused

misskgb · 15/02/2014 14:46

Thanks Lady. There's so flipping much to learn with every little bit of this ttc lark!!

binkybunny · 15/02/2014 17:54

Hi ladies just wanted to check in on you all.

Boooo to BFN's but keep hoping until AF arrives :-)

Lolly84 · 15/02/2014 20:58

Hey ladies, Sorry if this has been discussed but what's your thoughts on consuming alcohol during 2ww? I just have 1 week to go and feeling guilty about the few drinks I have had today for valentines. Eek x

MooMaid · 15/02/2014 21:34

Lolly personally I wouldn't worry. You cannot put your whole life on hold in the hope that you're pregnant every time it's the 2WW.

Plus a small amount of alcohol is allowed during pregnancy in other countries so I'm sure a couple just on Valentines will do very little harm.
