Um hello, newbie, ttc, needing a place to talk to people :)

I've been reading the site for ages but decided to sign up as need an outlet and place to talk as ttc is quite secret and it's not something I have loads of people I could talk about it with. Plus I'm quite shy and my ovaries aren't something to bring up at social gatherings!
I'm 31, came off pill in October and me and boyfriend have been ttc since. I didn't know how long it would take to get back to normal as had been on pill for eleven years. Turns out it took four weeks, and am now on third AF since coming off, so annoyingly normal in one way! I'm getting my head round all this tracking stuff but don't want it all to get clinical with the fella as it takes the fun away!
So just wanted to say hi and hopefully share in people's stories. It's not all as straightforward as I always thought, and I'm always the one that would start panicking something was wrong with me. I'm pleased I found somewhere I can just write it down if nothing else.
So, hi, and hopefully can take some good advice away.

I really cut down what I drank during 2ww but I still occasionally had a few glasses of wine. I didn’t eat soft boiled eggs or rare meat though.

I did the minute AF arrived Grin

Yeah I have half a bottle of red wine and some Prosecco so I think I'll be drowning my sorrows if AF shows up! I did have some rare steak the other night. Not sure why DH will allow that but not the wine?!

Has anyone noticed a difference in their skin since coming off the pill? I had a few spots and my skin is so much more oily than it was. Spots are clearing up a little bit and if I was symptom spotting I would say this is weird with AF being due at the end of the week, but obviously I'm not so this thought hasn't even crossed my mind....!!

I didn't drink during the last TWW. When AF turned up she made me feel so ill that I didn't want a drink. Don't think I've had one this year (maybe one glass of wine tops!)

DH asked me to let him know when the right time to dtd was this month. I was like- lets go upstairs!! haha It's nice he's asked- first time since trying. I'm sure he banged his head in his accident Grin Couldn't stop smiling when he asked!!

My skin seems drier but def had a bit of an outbreak. Boobs seem to have grown a bit too. Not sure what that's all about!! I can't wait for Fri/Sat for you Helen!

My skin is the same Helen. So oily and I have constantly had spots since the start of December.

Yeah I can imagine you don't much feel like wine with killer pains. That's very good not to have had hardly any this year. You not much of a drinker or you being good because of ttc?

I'm the opposite, boobs are smaller and skin is more oily! I've definitely got the rubbish end of the deal there!! Thanks :) I keep debating testing sooner, but then keep telling myself it's not worth it...!!

It's rubbish isn't it Hazel. Think it's probably here to stay now though. I was on Yasmin and that's meant to be really good for your skin so I'm really used to have no spots at all!

I was also on Yasmin, Helen. I was put on it because my skin was so bad on the other pills. I'm now having to change all of the products I used to use on my skin as they now irritate. GAH!

I've got a slight niggly cramp deep in my left hip. Feels nothing like previous OV pains though.

Yeah I have been on a few in my time and I started to get a dull headache during the pill free week so they put me on Marvalon and I had the worst massive big boils in the world. So then she said she would put me something that was good for skin so it didn't give me spots. I really liked it though, I had no problems on it at all.

The pains I seem to get in the first half of the month feels like someone is pinching me. It must be something to do with ovulation because I don't seem to get it in the second half of my cycle but it lasts over quite a few days which is weird?!

I absolutely loved Yasmin as a pill. Never had any issues at all with it. I hated microgynon and cerazette.

I'm wondering if I've seriously misjudged ovulation this month. Or my body is now playing tricks on me and giving me no clues. Hmm

I was on mycrogynon to start but found it gave me dull headaches and I couldn't run two packets together without feeling awful!

Yeah suppose you might not always have symptoms?!

Af was last tues so cd7? Ov due in next 3-4 days according to my app. I don't use opks. I usually have about a pint a week but the bad weather has cancelled sport which is where most of my drinking takes place. Otherwise ive tried to cut down since ttc. Dhs bday soon n probs during tww so might have a cheeky few this month. Can't stop completely just in case- this could take years!!!

My tummy feels bigger too.....I was worried about putting weight on coming off the pill but I think its just lack of exercise tbh!! Haha. Off to netball I go to sort that out :-)

Dark line on the OPK this morning (which is now in NZ) so it's all on for the next few days! So today is CD 13 for me so does that mean O is tomorrow or the next day? Am still pretty clueless so will just try to DTD as much as possible ... Can definitely feel pains in my left side. No EWCM though which isn't good.

I loved Yasmin when I first went on it but after about 2.5 years I had all these crazy side effects - couldn't sleep, ravenously hungry, and also my hair was thinning at the temples! Argh! So went off it & got the copper coil as no hormones and it was really good, had it for just under 5 years.

I feel like I'm going crazy. I don't have cramps but I have a tightness all across my lower stomach and am tired and irritable. I was on cerezatte but since coming off I'm noticing different things. I really want to do a pregnancy test but feel like I'm barmy for doing one so early after coming off the pill. I don't know whether to do one just for peace of mind??? Confused

Yeah I agree misskgb. The odd drink isn't going to make any difference I reckon! Haha yeah winter makes it too easy to ignore the gym and lie on the couch doesn't it!

Good luck with the dtd Gennz. The side effects of yasmin sound a bit grim. I don't much fancy the coil either though, heard it's really painful?! No idea what I'll do after I have my first kid, but I really don't think I'll be going back on the pill for a long time!

Wilsy- if it's playing on your mind so much, you might as well just take a test. Maybe stick up on some eBay cheapies so you're not spending a fortune? But if it's a bfn, don't lose too much hope, it might be too early to test. On the flip side coming off the pill does crazy things to your body so just bare that in mind as well. Good luck Smile

No no signs yet. No cramps or back ache or anything either. Probably just be late but I'm starting to get my hopes up which isn't good!!

Ooh good luck Helen! I'm at same cycle day as you but totally unaware of when AF is due because of my previous loooong cycle! So I may start POAS this weekend too Confused

I've had lots of cramping in the last few weeks... Dare I read too much into it? Also used OPKs but still no sign of a definite positive Sad I don't think I'll bother with them after this month, they're pissin me off haha

Thanks everyone. We've decided to hold off until Saturday so then I'm officially late and it'll probably be easier to talk through the result at weekend. Even though I know I'd be so lucky to get a BFP so soon, I think I will be a bit disappointed if it's a bfn so prob better not to go to work with a face on!!

Misskgb- how is DH after his accident?

Weebairn- I know I'm hoping it's a good sign. Still no at symptoms and my skin is getting clearer again which seems weird. But keeping rational and cramps etc might just hit me and AF arrives! How are you?

Lady- yeah I think OPKs would be a bit of a ball ache really! Are you going to start testing or hold off for a bit?!

Thanks Helen yeah I think I'll do a test this weekend... And then probably daily until AF/BFP like a mad woman. If I have another long cycle it doesn't matter as I have a stash of tests ready Blush
