Over here all breastfeeding ttcers! Welcome to our thread - a place for us to come for support, information and to talk about the extra challenges of ttc while still breastfeeding (or expressing like myself).

I thought I should go ahead and start the new thread as the old one is about to fill up and I didn't want anyone to get lost (hope that's ok Waiting and that you haven't already done this and I just missed it!)

For anyone who is new to the thread or needs a reminder, here are a few links to some useful websites (thanks Waiting for putting these together)

rose that is brilliant news! Congratulations. Just what my Friday needed. Grin

lemon I'd say this board is proof you can BF and still get BFPs. I always planned to BF for at least a year, but love our boobie time so much I can't bring myself to force weaning. Every month I say... right this month maybe. We're down to 1 feed a day now which makes it seem harder to stop. DS is only 17m and I think will go as long as my supply remains. But then again... Good luck with TTC!

zoo I'm convinced this isn't going to be my month. No symptoms other than occasion possibly made up in my head twinges. How long have you got left in the TWW? AF is due late Tues/Weds for me. Failing at staying busy.

Plus DH has bought me 3 bottles of wine. It was on offer - I'm not a complete alcoholic.

Hello everyone else! Hope you are all ok and have good weekends. I'm looking forward to a quiet one. Its been a bit manic seeing people the last few w/end.

rosepetalsoup · 10/08/2014 16:01

Thanks ladies for all good wishes xx I wish you all BFPs for the coming months and warm and cosy winter pregnancies.

mrsdiddlydoo · 11/08/2014 10:45

I'm feeling so anxious this cycle. Not sure why. You'd think I'd be use to this TTC business. Feel like AF is on her way, but really don't want her to turn up. Think maybe I've seen and heard too many new babies and birth announcements including DH's best friend. Oh and can't get how PG I should be out of my head. That would be it wouldn't it. Duh. Really need the next 48 hours to speed up.

Hope people are having a better Monday than me! Discovered I need to wear an apron if DS paints because its me that gets covered, not him. At least my arm looks pretty with blue paint and gold glitter stuck to it!

zoobaby · 11/08/2014 13:58

MrsD I'm sure you look rather fetching in your blue and gold glitter. You're far braver than me, to be painting with a little one.

Welcome Raisin. You're in the right place it would seem as a few of us are lingering around that age bracket. I recently had the joy of that particular birthday too. TTC with a 4 month old... No way could I have coped... sleep was my number one priority. But I'd you can manage it then go for it.

I've decided to test tonight when DP is home from work.I'm in the office on Tues and Wed and I'd prefer to know on my "home day".

ToesAndFingers · 11/08/2014 16:57

Congrats rosepetalsoup on your BFP! Hope all goes well for you Flowers

zoo and msrd good luck with POAS. Get some Wine in in case AF shows her ugly head!

I knew it wasn't our month as didn't put that much effort in Blush, and we were on holiday so wasn't really symptom spotting although still got some imaginary symptoms. AF arrived on Friday evening, which makes 24d cycle... Pre-DS it used to be 25-27 days with occasional shorter ones, so I guess it's all back on track...

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 11/08/2014 18:24

Please may I join you?

I was on an earlier incarnation of the thread but 22 month old DD was such a massive boob monster I sort of gave up trying and posting.

Have now cut her back massively and just got my first + OPK! (Still no AF since she was born)

Very encouraging to read your positive stories and am wishing for bfp's for all still trying. Smile

eagle2010 · 11/08/2014 18:46

Hello everyone and here's to the end of another Monday!

Sorry to hear of the anxiety mrsdiddly. It's so hard to think of other things when TTC is on your mind. Plus I think September is a boom month for babies so everyone everywhere I go seems to be PG. Hmm

The great news here is that DH and I have moved a step closer to buying our own place. I kind of feel like nothing will happen with TTC until we know we are getting out of the ILs place.

Good luck for POAS!

I was intrigued by a tandem feeding thread on the breast and bottle feeding board so we will get our BFPS :)

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 11/08/2014 20:51

Eagle there were two women tandem feeding at the last LLL meeting I went too. Was lovely Smile

zoobaby · 11/08/2014 21:31

Very happy news here. Test came back positive Grin. Will test first thing in the morning as well and maybe I'll believe it by Wednesday.

Trying to think of what was different this month and can only really pinpoint slightest feeling of nausea this past week which I put down to just generally feeling slightly unwell. Plus DS' demo of the being less milk (which he repeated tonight).

Strategy used: used CB opk and started DTD at first static smiley face. DTD at around the same time each night. Kept testing with Internet cheapies. When IC highlighted a positive we moved DTD to afternoon of that day (luckily was the weekend). Didn't bother with DTD after that. Another difference this month was limiting soap during shower to only top half of body (just in case the pH level was inhospitable). Also did the bicycle/raised legs and bottom for minimum of 30 minutes "post coitus".

Very pleased but defo keeping the news on the down low until 12 weeks.

Fingers crossed for you MrsD!

Hello to all the newcomers.

eagle2010 · 11/08/2014 21:43

What great news zoo!!! Hurrah :) Thanks for sharing strategy too.

gunpowder, I love hearing stories like that. In the early days with DS I thought I'd definitely have to wean to get PG again. I also thought I'd only BF till he was 1. It's like a whole different world has been opened up to me through BFing!

zoobaby · 11/08/2014 21:45

Re: the soap, I promise I wasn't a minger for a month. I just wasn't lathering it up and applying unnecessarily. Of course soap was in the general area but it was all very surface level only.

Great news Eagle. By another step... Where in the process are you? You really well benefit from moving. In many ways.

zoobaby · 11/08/2014 21:58

Error correction. Started DTD at first flashing smiley face cos that comes before the static smiley. IC notification came on 4th day (so 2nd day of static smiley).

eagle2010 · 11/08/2014 22:06

We've had our offer accepted and are about to pay a book in deposit to the estate agent! Barely anyone knows about it IRL so it's nice to be able to say it here :)

The house is a "builder's finish" so we have to do kitchen, tiling, floors etc. but that's all the fun stuff :) Realistically it'll be at least 2/3 months before we leave here but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Haha, zoo, thanks for clarifying that you were still cleaning yourself! I used to be so paranoid about shower gel getting on my nipples in the early days that I don't think I soaped up properly till DS was about 6 weeks old Grin

Hmm, I may invest in an OPK ... A cheapy one maybe

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 11/08/2014 22:13

Congratulations Zoo! Am going to follow your method next month.

And yay on your house, Eagles. Clearly this is a lucky thread Grin

rosepetalsoup · 12/08/2014 08:39

Hurrayyyyyy Zoo! Awesome news. Very interesting too about the soap, I hadn't thought of that.

mrsdiddlydoo · 12/08/2014 11:21

Congratulations Zoo!! Such brilliant news. I love you're second post clarifying that you aren't a stinky minger! Wink Grin Thanks

mrsdiddlydoo · 12/08/2014 11:22

And big woop woop to Eagle on the moving news. You will probably appreciate the place even more for the time you've spent at the ILs. you'll be in before you know it. We bought a dooer upper 4 years ago and it is still such a state. I wish DH would have agreed to buying something newer!

Well I'm still going out of my mind waiting for AF. I actually jumped out of bed this morning and decided I'd POAS anyway and couldn't bloody find one to pee on. Typical? Or a sign? I've barely slept for 4 nights thinking about bloody lovely babies and being pregnant and this morning felt sick twice at our morning music group, but I swear it's not anything real, just lack of sleep. Pulling my hair out doesn't describe it! Sorry for the rant. I've been so good this month not moaning at DH and trying to stay positive about life generally I have nothing left really. Tried really hard not being a crazy wife wanting to be pregnant, but am going to burst now. AF is due this evening/over night.

mrsdiddlydoo · 12/08/2014 11:25

Can't stop smiling thinking about my next month's plan... basically Weebairn method and stop washing with soap from the waist down with the occasional OPK. Gotta be a winner! Thank you for making me smile Zoo Really appreciate you updating us on what you did this month... And I mean that... I'm not being cheeky now. Smile

And big wave to Weebairn if you're reading this. Hope you're keeping well.

AnythingNotEverything · 12/08/2014 16:45

2 BFPs since I last posted. Fab news!

I am pleased to share with you that I think my period started today - first since DD was born. Got to be a good sign. She's almost 10 months and only feeding three times a day now, so hoping I'll be ovulating too.

I'll try pop by more often to try and get to know you all. TTC while looking after a small one is tough! Bloody knackered by the time I collapse in bed most nights. Must find the energy somewhere Smile

zoobaby · 12/08/2014 20:48

eagle that sounds like my dream. We're in a flat and even though it has a god communal outdoor space, I'd dearly love a small manageable garden to step straight out from house to grass/patio. Builders finish is so much better and way more affordable. Again, round here (West London) they're only building mega expensive luxury flats with really limited outdoor space. Bleurgh!

mrsd, glad to make you smile. I can't remember who it was and can't look as I'm on my phone, but do you renege someone recently posting on here was using spermicidal lube? Maybe a bit of that too? Smile. To be honest, I think that DS' dramatically improved sleeping has REALLY done me the world of good too. Once those canines came through it was like a magical switch. I totally sympathise with you on that count anything

eagle2010 · 13/08/2014 08:41

Thanks for the good wishes :) We will have a lovely garden too which will be great for DS as he gets bigger. DH brought home a fab kitchen brochure last night so I was swooning over cabinets etc! At least I'll have something to distract me during this month's TWW.

Did you test again zoo?

I bought a CB digital ovulation tester from an eBay type website so it should arrive today. Should I assume I'll ovulate mid cycle this time or should I wait till closer to CD24 (that's when I had EWCM last month)?

ToesAndFingers · 13/08/2014 14:58

Oh congrats zoo! And you said you didn't feel any different! Now you can e-mail MNHQ saying you don't need that OPK after all Grin

Congrats eagle on the house! We've moved into ours just under a year ago when I was 7mths pg and I'm looking back at that time fondly... Sleep glorious sleep... Grin

eagle2010 · 13/08/2014 16:30

Sleep, what's that again??!! Ah I remember those days last summer when all I did was sleep and watch ER boxsets :)

toes, our babies must be around the same age ... I'm sure I read it upthread but my tired brain can't remember.

I figure it's best to have the babies in quick succession so you can have a few years of sleep deprivation and then (theoretically) LOADS of years of sleep Grin

ToesAndFingers · 13/08/2014 16:44

Eagle he's nearly 9 months. I'm sticking to that theory too Grin

ToesAndFingers · 13/08/2014 16:53

By the way, did anyone notice any weight changes around the time your fertility came back? I'm trying to explain my sudden weight gain which could be just too much cake.
