Over here all breastfeeding ttcers! Welcome to our thread - a place for us to come for support, information and to talk about the extra challenges of ttc while still breastfeeding (or expressing like myself).

I thought I should go ahead and start the new thread as the old one is about to fill up and I didn't want anyone to get lost (hope that's ok Waiting and that you haven't already done this and I just missed it!)

For anyone who is new to the thread or needs a reminder, here are a few links to some useful websites (thanks Waiting for putting these together)

Thanks everyone for your messages of support-I had the scan yesterday and in the words of the sonographer I have a 'non-pregnant uterus'-I think that means I have had a complete miscarriage which I think is a plus. Pregnancy test still positive but I suppose it will be for a bit.

Have been back at work this week and it has been ok..

I am looking forward to BFN so that I will know when my cycles might start again. The doctor at the hospital advised us to wait for one cycle but we don't think we will.

I am looking forward to be being able to make some positive posts on this thread.

I am on my phone right now so will read through recent posts later.

mrsdiddlydoo · 03/05/2014 17:48

June i was told to test again in 2 weeks so I'm assuming I'll get my bfn then. I'm glad it seems to have gone as well as it could. Hope you've some nice things planned this weekend and if not you at least get to put your feet up.

Mister hope you're settling into the new place ok. I hate moving and packing and unpacking. Survived work ok yesterday but was definitely struggling by mid afternoon.

Well we've managed a nice walk in a bluebell woods with a new second hand carrier which went well and it was even a bit sunny. We've been trying to remember when we last had a baby sitter and think it was last year so should be good to get out for a couple of hrs tonight. Hope everyone's having a nice weekend.

OrchidFlakes · 04/05/2014 12:58

Hello again, sorry I stepped away for a while but I'm back now and TTC again.

June I'm so sorry to read about your MC, it's so, so hard. If it is any consolation (and I know words are little comfort) I fell pregnant with DS the first month we tried after my MC. We waited a month, purely because I was away on business at the key time but otherwise we wouldn't have done. I hope the sun comes out for you soon x

Starting to feel v broody and a little depressed as a friend whose DD is the same age as our DS has just announced she's 10 weeks pregnant, another friend has just gone on mat leave for DC2 and another is due next month. It seems there are babies everywhere but here!

Apologies for being a little melancholy and wallowy, just needed a little vent.

mrsdiddlydoo · 06/05/2014 07:32

bloody phone just lost a message. Grr! Hope everyone is ok. Will try again when i can get on laptop.
Don't apologise for venting orchidf. I feel similar about rl pregnancy announcements. Friend due today as well but coping with that one as long as i get some newborn cuddles soon

Madrigals Congratulations!!!!!!!! So pleased for you! I pop on every now and again to see if you have got your BFP yet and see you have finally got your good news! I have all my fingers and toes crossed that it's a sticky bean. I was so convinced I was going to be told I'd had a mmc I almost cried when I saw the 12w scan! That 1st 12w is just horrible isn't it, all the worry and no real evidence of a baby!

I'm due to pop next week (but think it'll happen this weekend)! Can't believe it's come round so fast!!! Beware of that this pg, everything goes so much faster (and you get huge so much faster too Wink )

Giant hugs to you anyway, I'll pop back again and see how you're getting on (and hopefully it won't be too long before I'm back on this thread again too... mad I know Wink ) xx

mrsdiddlydoo · 06/05/2014 10:11

Madrigals - this baby making business is so stressful sometimes isn't it? Cramping is a normal part of the first trimester as everything moves around and stretches and remembers what it is doing. 2 weeks till the scan is going to feel like an age. In the kindest way I hope you can keep yourself busy (but without doing too much!) and it passes quickly. I'm certain it will all be ok. Thanks Smile

I can't even remember what was in the post I lost. Been up far too early. Just been grocery shopping to wear out DS and its worked so I'm off for a shower! Ha. Life's little luxuries.

weebairn · 06/05/2014 21:17

I think we have stopped breastfeeding. She had one long last snuggly feed on Sunday, but nothing since then. She tried briefly yesterday but just cried immediately.

I don't think I was 100% up for tandem feeding (though I wouldn't have stopped her) so I think this is for the best? But I am still very teary, it was just such a big part of our lives for so long :(

Thanks for your kind comments. I am no longer TTC and no longer BF so maybe I shouldn't be on this thread!!

Madrigals the first few weeks are so hard! For what it's worth I had loads of cramping with both pregnancies and no problems at all.
Please stop doing pregnancy tests. They won't tell you anything, they'll just make you stress… It must be so hard after a miscarriage, wish I could give you a big hug and make you a cuppa and bring you cake!

weebairn · 06/05/2014 21:19

June and mrsdiddly I've been thinking of you both and hope you are both doing ok.

weebairn · 06/05/2014 21:24

I took this picture on Sunday cause I kinda knew it was the Last Feed, hope you don't mind me sharing

mrsdiddlydoo · 07/05/2014 13:11

Weebairn I definitely don't mind you sharing such a precious little moment. Smile DS is getting less and less interested in BF. I just hope we can hang on a bit longer.

MrsConfusion · 07/05/2014 13:38

weebairn that is a gorgeous picture! How lovely, and what an amazing start you've given DD with 19 months of BF - well done you. Let yourself feel sad if it ends but also feel v v proud! My DD is 19 months too, mostly just down to feeding at bedtime now, and I torn between hoping she decides to fade out herself and kind of never wanting it to stop. Do stay on the thread!

Madrigals, try not to fret too much (stupid thing to say, it's impossible to turn that brain off) and let time pass. Hugs.

MisterSafety, caffeine abstinence mostly sticking so far, but I'm more tired than ever so it's hard to stop self sneaking a coffee, relying on decaff to try to trick myself. Although if chocolate counts towards caffeine I'm definitely failing... You asked where I am in cycle. Hmmm, AF started 23/04, lasted 7 days - so presumably I'm on day 15 of cycle?? I'm SO shockingly poor at maths. Have been on SWI every other day since day 7, will see where that gets us.

Sending thoughts and Thanks to everyone who is struggling. You're all amazing!

hello everyone. I think my body might be trying to ov. Very sore tummy today which is normal for me. Guess time will tell when af shows up. We're not ttc this month. I can't handle it quite yet. Had at least 6 people at work ask me about having dc no 2. Could punch them but proud of how well i handled it.

Being abandoned for a stag do this weekend. Looking forward to peace and quiet. How is everyone?

goodbyeyellowbrickroad · 09/05/2014 21:29

Hello everyone. Glad to have found this thread! I'm about to start TTC in the next couple of months. Still breastfeeding my DS who'll turn 2 in June. AF returned when DS was 14 months and have gone back to a regular but slightly longer cycle.

Will be having a read through the links in the OP later once DS is in bed for the night (live overseas). For some reason I feel much more anxious about TTC this time. No idea why!

mad - I was at a group last Saturday and someone asked me what the age difference was between my children. I was speechless. I couldn't figure out which children were meant to be mine! I was interacting with lots of them because i like to get down with them and involved. I'm still a bit shocked about that one. How are you feeling?

hello goodbye! I found the links really helpful and the ladies on this thread have been really supportive.

I'm sure it won't be long til we have some more bfps

goodbyeyellowbrickroad · 10/05/2014 03:05

DS feeds 3 times a day unless he's poorly or teething then it's usually more.

Just read through this thread and so nice to see positive stories! Feeling uber broody as everyone in RL seems to be pregnant. Spent this evening researching local maternity services. 2 of them have on site spa treatments available - definitely didn't have that available on the good old NHS!

junebaby2011 · 10/05/2014 19:29

Hi everyone and welcome to all the new recruits!

Sorry I haven't posted for a while-I find myself reading everyone's posts regularly but posting from phone is a pain as I can't remember what has been written!

Weebairn-thanks and lovely picture. Reminded me I must take more photos of dd bf.

Hope you are doing ok madrigals-hoping for a sticky one for you Smile

Thank you orchid-looking forward to TTC again.

Does anyone know anything about cycles after miscarriage.. Today I am 15 from when the miscarriage started and would usually ovulate on day 17..I did a pregnancy test today and it was still a feint BFP. Do you think I need a negative pregnancy test and to count that as day 1. I did an opk today and it was negative. I can't remember from my other mc and the last one was a lot earlier... Hope that makes sense!!

Goodbye - spa treatments!? Think I'd be lucky if the birthing pool was available when I might need it around here!

June - I'm afraid I can't help. I failed to resist temptation this morning and did the cheapie NHS test this morning (which I should have done tomorrow) and it wasn't the BFN I was hoping for. Still a faint line. Funny how gutted this made me! Might be worth asking on the TTC after MC board, friendly knowledgeable bunch over there but its a bit fast moving for me.

Mad - pleased to hear the cramping has stopped. Happy 6 weeks today! Smile

Mister - hope you're settling into the new place ok.

Thanks for advice madrigals and mrs.

Think I just need to relax a little!

Bfn today 16 days after miscarriage started.. So can now move on. Feeling a little bit down at the mo about mc's-maybe it's the thought of trying again and it happening again.

I am trying to eat healthily and this week have got to cut down my caffeine habit-it seems to have got slightly out of control!
