  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Oh and bloating and general windy-ness...

Chosenbyyou · 19/01/2014 19:45

that sounds good Tanny how many dpo are you?

i am due af/bfp wed but can feel af waiting in the wings :( moody and small cramps which is a shame as we got the timing right this month but looks like no joy - prob tantrum wed night aswell!!

sorry you are still here hollyben...but sounds like you are dtd at right time? im def going with the opk's again nxt month but can't get the hang of temping.

xx to all

fedupofrainydays · 19/01/2014 19:48

I'm shattered - so much so I can hardly stay awake. And it's all the time! If I was in the 2 ww of course I would be pregnant right?

Chosenbyyou · 19/01/2014 19:54

haha fedup...know what you mean - one month dh was away for the whole month and I had all the poss preg symptoms, now I try not to read into anything for myself...even felt sick and dizzy?!

also, im not bothering with poas as the bfn knocks me right down and then spend ages trying to think up why its a false neg!
x

tannyLoo · 19/01/2014 19:57

Hey chosen, I'm 5 dpo, so bloody early to be symptom spotting.

However, being "super fertile" and SMEPing means the odds are highish. Keeping hold of it is more tricky...

Parsley2506 · 19/01/2014 19:59

I don't like POAS either, I find seeing the bfn harder than dealing with seeing the witch. I used to POAS when we were in the early days of ttc but as time wore on I just couldn't bear the disappointment.

Tanny, they sound like promising symptoms! Is there a word for people obsessed with wiping and checking? I'm in and out of the loo all the time at the slightest sensation of anything wet (sorry for tmi!) doing a quick wipe and check! It's the weirdest obsession I have I think. Definitely needs a nickname!

Chosenbyyou · 19/01/2014 20:13

sounds good tanny - i looked up super fertile after it was mentioned a week or so back, are they able to give you anything to keep hold of it or not really? I have no idea why mine was mmc so just have the 'bad luck' line from the epu atm.

parsley - i have had some of my lowest moments seeing the bfn post mmc so am not buying any tests unless I am a good two days late (plus know my LP is 14 days with a +opk I can predict af almost to the hour lol!)

hope the bfp's keep coming as it gives me hope! xx

tannyLoo · 19/01/2014 20:28

No, there's no treatment for it yet, just hoping for a healthy blastocyst each time. The way my gynae explained it was that most women reject all the duff ones and end up with a normal af or chemical, but my body doesn't distinguish between the healthy and duff ones and I carry them until they're definitely not viable, which seems to be around 6 weeks.

If I do end up with a bfp, it won't really count until I get past the 6 week mark...

I'm taking baby aspirin and progesterone as well "just in case".

MissHobart · 19/01/2014 20:43

Tabby - is the progesterone prescribed? If not where do you get it? And at what point do you start taking it?

I'm considering taking that and aspirin if I get another BFP.

tannyLoo · 19/01/2014 21:17

Hi Miss, yes the progesterone is prescribed and is a pessary twice a day. I was told to take it from bfp, but advice on the RMC thread and from Prof Reagen's book is that prior to implantation may be more useful, so to start soon after ov. I started taking them on 3dpo.

Again, there is conflicting advice about aspirin, some people advise taking it just from bfp as there may be issues with implantation if your blood is too liquid, but I am going with my gynae and taking it all the time along with high dose folic acid.

Hope this helps!

MissHobart · 19/01/2014 22:47

Yes it does, having my first set of bloods taken on Wednesday so should probably wait for some results!

Why is it baby aspirin? Not supposed to take any due to history of stomach ulcers but if it makes a baby stick I'll "stomach" it, Hmm

Misspositivity · 19/01/2014 23:10

I have a 2 ww omission to make. Instead of poas I stick a tampon up to see if AF is lurking about up there. That way I know in advance. That is much worse than constant wiping. I am clearly nuts and am ashamed.

How are you all. Been quiet. Wedding on Thursday and AF due Thursday.

Misspositivity · 19/01/2014 23:11

Not omission Ad. Grammar terrible on I phone.

Parsley2506 · 20/01/2014 07:40

MissP, that nearly made me spit cornflakes over the table! I'm glad it's not just me that prods and pokes to try to find the witch! Hahaha! Wink

fedupofrainydays · 20/01/2014 07:55

I'm a prodder. Not thought of the tampon idea... But doesn't it hurt when you take it out? I find if I use tampon when period too light then it hurts when I take it out as too dry! (Sorry tmi)

Oh missP I hope period stays away for your wedding. What an amazing wedding present a bfp would be...!!! Fx for you xx

fedupofrainydays · 20/01/2014 07:56

I am adding sticky bfp to that....

Triplespin · 20/01/2014 08:11

Interesting about the progesterone pessaries. I have long suspected that maybe I have progesterone issues as I don't ever get sore boobs or other pms before AF. I had my day 21 test done over Christmas time on day 22 (Christmas eve!) and it came out as 44. Does anyone know what that means? GP just said that it was normal, but no more details beyond that.

Sal are your temps still up? Is it poas morning then?

Missp ooh I hope AF does not come on wedding day. Would be a lovely wedding present.

Chosen - same here. The Bfns post mc were one of my worst moments. I don't want to poas any more. Also I can predict AF by the hour too. It almost always starts in the early morning hours for me. At least last two times, have got up at 3am and wipes, but no AF and then by 5am it has started. Also I can tell from my cervix position and texture at least 3 data before AF arrives. So basically I can never hold out to any hope that AF will be late as the signs show up earlier!

Sal1977 · 20/01/2014 08:30

Morning ladybugs!

Temp still high here this morning so was 75% convinced of a BFP, but alas a big fat white gap where that second line should be. Not even a shadow or an evap or cat hair!

Feel alright about it, maybe FF got my OV wrong? I dunno. Wish AF would crack on now, lets get this show on the road for next month!

(Await sobby 'why me' post later today....)

fedupofrainydays · 20/01/2014 08:31

triple 44 is great!!!
It seems mixed but levels they tend to worry about are below 20. So you are well in there! This is the figure to indicate ovulation tho, not whether it helps carry pregnancy etc as that's all different!!

Parsley2506 · 20/01/2014 09:29

sal booo, that's so disappointing but until the witch shows....

missp just realised I was so busy sniggering over the tampon prodding I missed that your wedding is this bloomin week!! I hope you've got some nice treats lined up pre-big day, how are you feeling? I remember it all feeling a bit like a weird dream until it was over! Also keeping fx for no AF and a wedding BFP for you!

Got some v light brown 'spotting' this am, not sure I'd even call it that tbh. Predicting AF arrival by bedtime....

deuscat · 20/01/2014 10:36

Sal you can't bow out till the witch shows!

Missp finger crossed for a wedding day BFP!

New symptoms today: had to wee in the night last night which I never normally do unless I've been drinking. Today I have some soreness to the side of my left boob, near my armpit.

I wish I could stop symptom spotting. As this is my first cycle post mc all these symptoms could just be pms leading up to AF. Although I don't usually get any except for mood swings a few days before and cramps a few hours before.

I'm determined not to poas until tomorrow Friday!

Triplespin · 20/01/2014 10:46

oh no sal - if temps are still up, you are still in with a chance and it could just be a case of testing too early. You can join the poas party this Friday, hopefully.

fedup - that is reassuring that 44 is decent - one less thing to worry about for now.

Been reading a lot about baby aspirin. Where do we buy these from? Are they available from the regular pharmacy e.g. boots etc or prescription based as well? If I ever get a bfp, I may have to try these too.

Anything else ladies? I've heard good things about royal jelly. Has anyone ever tried that? Also recently read that protein helps with the quality of the egg - which is good for me as I love all types of meat !

Penguin13 · 20/01/2014 10:47

Oh my goodness miss how exciting. Hope the witch doesn't rudely gatecrash your big day and that you get a big fat wedding BFP!

That's rubbish Sal but hopefully you just tested too early. All together now "you're not out till...." you know the rest.

I'm a manual rummager too. Weirdly more when it comes to CM than AF. I convince myself that maybe it's just hiding Blush....I think am going to bite the bullet and try out temping combined with my Internet cheapies this cycle. I thought just tracking ov symptoms would prevent me getting obsessive but when zero symptoms appeared it actually made me more obsessive and stressed. I started opks but only on day 13 so could have missed surge. At least I might have some kind of idea what's going on if I chart. Any advice for a newbie temp-er? What's the best app? Also is 'taking charge of your fertility' worth buying? Really annoying I can't download it to my nice discreet kindle.

fedupofrainydays · 20/01/2014 11:31

Ha ha got an imagine of you (not that I know what you look like) standing on a busy tube with the worlds biggest book 'taking charge of your fertility' surrounded by men not knowing where to look!

Penguin13 · 20/01/2014 11:40

That is precisely why I want the kindle version fedup Smile well that and I don't think H necessarily needs to know what I am reading. That might truly be the death knell for any remaining spontaneity and fun or illusion thereof in our sex life!
