Hi everyone

A first post for me! I'm excited to say I'm trying for my first child, and my partner and I started seriously trying this month.

We did a test on Christmas Day which came back negative. It was a clear blue digital and I took it a day before I was expecting my period. The result came back negative, however it could have been a bit early to register a result as I'm never 100% sure of the exact day my period will start.

I'm trying to hold out and see if my period starts because I don't want to retake and get another negative (particularly if I am testing too early) but it's so hard not to!!!!

How do you manage the waiting/disappointment regarding conceiving? I'm really struggling and it's still such early days for us!

Any support/ideas would be very much appreciated!

Well, it's considered normal for it to take up to a year to conceive. I'd start by waiting until your period is late (and/or you have pregnancy symptoms) before testing. If you 'assume' each month that you're pregnant then you might well be disappointed. I know it's basically impossible but try not to think about it, just relax and it'll happen when it happens. Good luck Smile

Thanks! It's just so unbearable! I'm not great with waiting at the best of times, so this is just the worst!

My logical mind tells me that everything will be fine and I just need to be patient but my heart is longing for a positive result!!

It's difficult to stay level headed!

Was just coming on to say the less you stress about it the easier it is...But looks like I was too late Grin congratulations! If you look in the antenatal boards you should find a "bus" for ladies whose babies are due the same time as yours...September? Invaluable for support and chatting. Would highly recommend joining Smile

Hi all
So like most of us i have been reading comments about ttc.
I just wanted to give you my story.
So I downloaded the flo app which tracked when I ovulated, we tried daily and 6dpo I done a pregnancy test and had a negative , I had horrendous cramps which I believed were implantation cramps, every other day I done a test and still negative. I was due on 2 December. On the weekend I had really bad cramps expecting the most awful period ever... this is my third child and didn’t ‘feel’ pregnant! I done a test on my due date just to see and the faintest line appeared... I done a clear blue test which confirming ‘pregnant’. I’ve added this post because although I had about 6 negative sans despite all the cramps a BFP came :)
I’ve tested since for reassurance and although early days I am sure excited.
