Shocked, scan good!!!! One little heart beating away, measuring 8w4d, so caught up a bit to dates. And haematoma virtually gone. If it goes the way of my dd, then will have caught up to or be ahead of dates by the 12 week scan. Starting to Believe that it might just happen this time!!!!

teamdozie · 07/02/2014 13:13

Willit that's brilliant news! So pleased for you!!

Lovely to hear all this good scan news! Hoorah, Willit!
Village, thanks for the info, and yes, I am sure the negative effect on my sleep that night was purely because of paying too much attention to sleep, because I knew I was taking something. I didn't really like the idea of taking anything that has any effect on sleep, because of my history, mainly because, psychologically, I want to attribute any good sleep I have to myself, and not anything external. I once took sleeping tablets for a year and don't ever want to go back to feeling I need a drug to sleep, even if, as you say, this one can't actually initiate sleep. I don't want to get the point of stopping the melatonin one day and wondering 'I wonder if I'll sleep tonight without this ...' because that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
However, I do think I had a hangover because of it; the one I used was an 8-hour time release version as that was the only vegetarian one I could find. It felt as if it was being released at the wrong time so that my body thought it was night during the day. I have since found out that a hangover effect isn't uncommon especially since 3mg is a fairly high dose. I certainly felt nauseous and dizzy the next day and very dozy, whereas normaly after an insomniac night I feel paradoxically 'tired but wired'.
If I try it again I may find a smaller dose to start with and a non-time release version.

Tumtimes1 · 07/02/2014 15:18

Willit this is amazing news! So pleased for you! YEAH!!!

VillageMum · 07/02/2014 17:54

Willit fabulous news, couldn't be better! Great news about size!

Team hope you have that booking-in appointment in the diary!

Love the success stories we're having on this thread!

brown I think it was Ari who posted the info about melatonin so I can't take the credit for that Smile, but just wanted to say that the one time I tried slow-release melatonin I also felt distinctly hung over and dizzy the next day - never again!

brownstag · 07/02/2014 18:15

Ah, sorry, yes, thanks Ari!

bakingtins · 07/02/2014 19:30

Cheerfulcharlie · 08/02/2014 06:52

Hello- I was on the first threads and had my little boy in 2012 on intralipids (did not do the pred) with very high nk cells. Now I'm 4 weeks pregnant and hooked up to the intralipids as I type. Just thought I'd say hello and stick around for the next few weeks mentalling..

bakingtins · 08/02/2014 07:04

Hi charlie and good luck with your pregnancy. Where do you find intralipids at that time in the morning? Hope second time around they are equally successful for you.

MrsPixieMoo · 08/02/2014 07:05

Hello Cheerful congratulations. What a lovely story. Welcome back and we are all here for you.

Willit hooray, that's wonderful.

Waves to all. Have lovely weekends xx

Mel3062 · 08/02/2014 07:52

Will it great news! And too you Charlie too interesting that you were not on pred. I'm having ivig ( when preg) and lad and clexane, the works and not even preg yet!
I'm needing intralipid help please. I have a script for 3 a month apart. I was hoping to have them at ins but they're shut Saturdays, where's the cheapest place? I'm in York but don't fancy paying healthcare at home prices especially when I'm getting neopegen too :/ also is there a particular time in the cycle that's best to have them?
Thanks x

Cheerfulcharlie · 08/02/2014 08:19

Sorry I am not much help with getting the intralipids as I'm living overseas. Mel - are you being prescribed the intralipids before pregnancy or are you wanting to get them bought all ready? I have only had them at 4, 8, 12 and 16 weeks pregnant. Might be as well to check with whoever will administer it that it's ok for you to buy the intralipids separately. Last time I didn't trust that the hospital would have the intralipids in stock so I bought them a couple of weeks in advance (from the hospital pharmacy) but when I came into hospital they refused to use them as they could not verify it had been stored correctly etc (I was quite impressed by their thoroughness!). However this was not in the UK, so may be different...

Mel3062 · 08/02/2014 08:24

Ok thanks I'm having them as part of trying to concieve.
Another query, those of you on clexane I'm on it from day 7 in cycle do I stop at neg test then start again day 7 or just continue or anyway? I would ask consultant but he charges :(

Tumtimes1 · 08/02/2014 13:15

hello all! Congrats Cheerffulcharlie on your birth and new pregnancy! Where a bouts overseas are you?

I have just come back from Epsom clinic seeing MR Shehata. He was in a jolly mood but he didn't like that I have been put on clexane by the NHS. He has basically said I should choose between him and my NHS doctor. He wasn't being funny about it either, was very nice. I can see his point.
He has said that I need to stay on aspirin for the duration of the pregnancy owing to my migraines with aura. But re: clexane he says I would not need to be on it past 12 weeks. This concerns me - does anyone else have experience of this? Thanks all.
