Ok, so I'm driving myself mad. We weren't ttc. However, I've been feeling for a while now like I'm pg. I have 3 DC and some of the signs are similar. We used protection but of course contraception can fail.
I have done numerous tests over the last few weeks and all have been neg. Some of the tests had a super faint hint of something but so faint that I assumed must be evap lines as no colour to the line and could only be seen when held up to the light and looking very hard.
Anyway, so I accepted I'm not and tried to move on. Tonight I was lying down watching tv and felt a sensation like fluttering, you know, the feeling you get when you first start feeling baby move.
I looked on the calendar and we would have last done the deed around 11-12 wks ago.
I honestly feel like I'm going mad. What is going on?!!

Have you started taking folic acid etc just in case?? get an appt and have a blood test.

WhatsTheCrack · 01/12/2013 11:45

Foody - no, I'm not sure if there would be any point as if I am I would be at least 12 wks if not 15.. :-/

Most likely there it is phantom kicks with gas being to blame. But....

Yes there are women who never get a positive test during pregnancy, my mum and my sister each had a pregnancy like this.

and
the "hook" effect takes place with pregnancy tests, I think the dilution needed is 10 to one unit, but you could google this. It would be difficult to get right as dilute too much and you get a negative, dilute too little and you still get a negative......

The only way to know at this stage is to go to GP and get them to feel your stomach, if the uterus is raise above the pelvic brim, then they will send you for a scan (this is how my sisters pregnancy finally was found!)

If not they will just feel tummy and send you away saying gas.... but at least you will have the answer then!

I hope you get the answer - which ever you want!

WhatsTheCrack · 01/12/2013 20:13

Thanks willit that's really interesting!
To be honest, I'm at the point now where I just want an answer, which ever it is. I can't stand this limbo!!
Today I am 95% convinced I am pg the movements are so realBlush

Will have to try and see the dr asap.

Have you had any other symptoms?

My sense of smell was super human during pregnancy.

This must be so frustrating for you.

AntoinetteCosway · 01/12/2013 20:39

Hope you can get to the GP soon OP. My mum never had a positive test when pregnant with my brother...

SoonToBeSix · 01/12/2013 20:50

Can't you just book a private scan ? They cost about £40 for a basic 15 minute one.

WhatsTheCrack · 02/12/2013 06:51

Symptoms..
Yes, my sense of smell is strong arrive moment, I can't stand my dh spraying his deodorant (same the last 3x I was pg), when I walk through the supermarket I can smell what's on each aisle as I pass the end of it!
I'm also weeing a lot!
I did have about a week of nausea but that's passed.
Tmi alert - increased discharge.
My sciatica is playing up a bit, I only get this when pg usually.
I've been quite emotional too..

Ok, have drs app for 3.10 today.. Not sure if I can make it though, that's the only one they had but it's bang on school run timeConfused Waiting to see if hs can help out..
I have uploaded a pic of a test I did last night. I did it with urine diluted 1:10 with saline solution as recommended by one of you kind ladies.. It shows a very faint 2nd line. Hard to capture on camera, so I've put an Instagram effect on it which seems to help it show up. Can you see it??

Do you mean the line where the white bit is, right at the bottom of the strip? If so I'm afraid that is just the dye collecting under the paper, a 'proper' BFP line should be higher up, much closer to the control line. (Sorry if that doesn't make sense, but if you Google BFPs on ICs you might be able to see what I mean!)

Good luck with your appt, hope your DH can hep out.

WhatsTheCrack · 02/12/2013 10:08

No, the very faint line that is parallel to the control line and is where a positive result line should be. I know where it should be, I've had 3 DCGrin

Sorry I'm on the iPad so can't see your pic.

If you have no luck with the GP could you see if anyone you know has a Doppler you could borrow, or buy one? They are £20 from ebay. I heard heartbeat from 11.5 weeks with the one I bought.

Or as someone else suggested private scan. Hope that GP is helpful so you don't need to do either if those things.

WhatsTheCrack · 02/12/2013 10:14

Thanks impatiently, I live 60 Miles from anywhere that would offer a private scan..
I have asked my friends if I can borrow a doppler but no one has one.. I can't really afford one but if I get no help when I manage to see the dr I mighty hire one for £9.99.

Oh ok, sorry WhatsTheCrack - but in that case I can't see a line.

WhatsTheCrack · 02/12/2013 10:54

No need to apologise! It's very faint, I can barely see it irl tbh. Hope I can make the drs..

Rang the midwife unit again and ended up crying down the phone as I'm so worried about this

Anyway, she was nice and said to come in this aft and they'll have a look. So nervous, It's just so embarrassingBlush

OP posts:
AntoinetteCosway · 02/12/2013 12:51

Hm, there is something shadowy that could be a line but I can't zoom in without making the whole pic quite fuzzy...

Hope the midwife is able to put your mind at rest one way or the other this afternoon.

BumWad · 02/12/2013 13:02

Can't see a line either.

Good luck with the midwife Smile

WhatsTheCrack · 02/12/2013 13:24

Thanks all, gonna go over to see her shortly. Will update x

OP posts:
Gingerpanther27 · 02/12/2013 15:08

Can actually see second line in right place if I clean my screen and zoom slightly if that helps at all Blush x

Figgygal · 02/12/2013 16:19

Havent read all the thread and know Op will be at Dr's at the moment and that this question has probably already been asked but have you been having AF's throughout (i know some people do the whole way through).

WhatsTheCrack · 02/12/2013 16:22

Update;
Midwife couldn't tell.
She said that they don't usually feel tummies do early so she didn't really know what she was feeling forSadShe has a listen with the doppler but couldn't pick anything up.. She said maybe dr will refer me for a scan. She said, if I was less than 15 weeks she might not be able to feel or hear anything yet anywayHmmWhat ever is in my tummy was wriggling against the doppler as she held it thereBlush

Then went to Drs. Dr did an internal, womb tiny bit swollen but she said that might be cause I've had 3 DC.. She's given me antibiotics for a possible urine infection (just cause I mentioned if been weeing a lot, she didn't test my wee) and referred me for a scan which I should get through in a few weeks.. She said it would be very unusual if I am pg but to act as if I am re drink etc till I know for sure..

More waitingConfused
