New thread. Welcome back to all the regulars. Welcome to all the newbies - please come and join us if you are IVFing or thinking about. The regulars are a mine of information at this point!

Do you realise that this will take us through a year of egg buddy threads? I believe Karbea started the last one around Xmas time last year for those cycling in 2013 and I immediately jumped on it as I was about to start my first cycle in January. Blimey.

Go Bunny! Am jealous - must be an IVFer to be green eyed about the prospect of someone else having an invasive procedure which might make them feel ropey for a while.

It is exciting, though. How are you?

resipsa · 07/01/2014 22:47

PS After my EC at 9am, I was up and out by 10.30 and in the pub for lunch by 12 noon!

Morning!

Thanks hat res beetle for your advice and best wishes, nervous times ahead

My tummy doesn't feel so bloated today, is that because of the trigger?

So this time tomorrow I'll be just arriving at the clinic! Have taken Friday off work too, who wants to g back on a Friday lol. I have an office job so after transfer I will probably just take 1 day off too. Unfortunately we are moving the office around next week so will have to pretend I have a bad back. So anything else I need to know/ do for tomorrow?

ThoughtfulOne · 08/01/2014 08:41

Sorry for the totally sel centred post but remember that mid cycle bleeding I mentioned (totally normal after fails ivf right?) as I jokingly said to my doctor at my ivf follow up yesterday - the only other time I have had mid cycle bleedin is with both of my ectopics. So he said have you done a test and I said yeah well a few weeks ago - it was negative. I asked him for another test just to be sure even though I was certain it would be negative. I had an epic fail in using the freebie test and wee went all over it so I didn't even wait for the result. Just chucked it in the bin and went to work laughing with my DH at my stupidity. Anyway - we ha one test left from my IVF OTD so we agreed I'd use that this morning. Just did - very faint. Feel sick and now off to EPU. Given ive been bleeding heavily and erratically I am sure this is just a chemical or something but given my ectopic history I need to get it checked out.

Hope everyone else is ok x

resipsa · 08/01/2014 08:44

Oh God, Thoughtful - fingers crossed it's either a great and welcome surprise or just a random bleed but nothing sinister.

Badhairday76 · 08/01/2014 09:49

Oh Thoughtful - poor you. My blood ran cold when I read your message just now. With both of my ectopics the pregnancy line was super strong and came up immediately, whereas with my miscarriage it was faint. Am hoping so much it is good news for you and not something more sinister.

Euro - how are you today? Hoping for good news.

Hello to everybody else. I am sat in the fertility clinic waiting to see the nurse but have been told my IVF cycle can go ahead. Am really relieved. Could not sleep last night for worrying. I can also stop the double doses of Buserelin, thank goodness. I feel truly ghastly on it. I don't think I can DR again. Will definitely go for short protocol next time. X

Euro how are things today? I am keeping absolutely everything crossed for you x

Bunny yay to triggering and having a little fucker free day today. I found EC fine, I did feel a bit rough about 2-3 days after which I assume was due to fluid retention. I looked about 6 months pregnant for about a week. I was back at work 3 days after and I do have a physical job. I would just see how it goes. Once you have EC you are classed as pregnant so if you are off sick it doesn't count.

Stars are you triggering tonight? Exciting!

Thoughtful I am keeping everything crossed for you x

Res how insensitive of your friend, people really don't get it do they. I hope you are holding up ok.

Pip where are you up to? Have you started DR yet?

Bugs you are getting there! It won't be long until you are stimming and then it flies by. I was bloody miserable on the devils juice. I slept terrible but I was so hot all the time I just assumed it was due to that.

Bad are you back for a scan today? Keeping everything crossed for you.

Nobeer hope you are doing ok. Not long to wait for the rest of your tests now.

Brooker when do you start again?

I've had a rough few days, my dog got hold of some dark chocolate I got as a Christmas present. She was really ill, the vet told us to be prepared that she might not make it. She was admitted for 2 days. Anyway she has recovered fine. I've never been so relieved in my life. My dog means the world to me. We have had her the whole time we have been ttc and I don't think we would have coped with all the sadness without her.

bunny good luck for EC! Each time I have had the day of EC off work, but worked on the day of ET and just gone out for it at lunchtime. I prefer to keep things as normal as possible around the IVF but I know others have taken some time. Physically, ET is just like an extended smear so there was no pain or anything afterwards for me.

badhair well done for making it through downregging - you did better than I did! And it's great news that the cycle can go ahead.

Thoughtful what a worry. Thinking of you. x

Oh cupcakes what a relief. I grew up with dogs and they were very much part of the family.

AFM, I'm ok. The cramps and bleeding seemed to have eased overnight. I've just been to Boots and bought some surgical gloves so I can use the back door for the cyclogest for a few days - it seems like a good idea to avoid anything that might irritate the cervix (and I'm a bit squeamish about touching my bum, hence the gloves!). I had a feel last night to see if my cervix was open and something up there felt very sore and that cannot be helping. We discussed this morning whether to go to the EPU and decided to leave it as the bleeding has eased for now. I think I will go if it starts back up though.

Bunny - My first EC was absolutely fine, went back to work the next day (knowing I wanted to take more time off around transfer). The second one was much more uncomfy. They thought I was border line OHSS so looked massively pregnant. Turned out to be gas and constipation - which I am not told is a relatively common side effect from sedation so I advise lots of prunes and dried apricots too - and plently of water.

Thoughtful - I am hoping all is ok for you, really fingers massively crossed it is a pleasant surprise.

Euro - your gloves have made me chuckle. I hope the bleeding stays settled down for you.

ThoughtfulOne · 08/01/2014 11:20

Just popping in for a quick update and to say thanks for all your comments. Particularly as there are lots going through their own sh** at the moment.

Euro - I'm glad the bleeding has eased. Good luck with the alternative entry route!
Bad - yay to cycle continuing and reduced buserelin.
Cupcakes - what a drama with your dog. Poor love. Glad to hear he is getting better.

AFM - currently PUL (I've been here before). Nothing seen on scan an blood test results due this afternoon. Then it will either be more blood tests, more scans or both.

Because of my failed ivf and random bleeding my dates are all over the place. What really doesn't make sense is the senior doctor who came in to view my scan said if only ovulated a maximum of 2 weeks ago. Hmmm.

starsandmoonandback · 08/01/2014 11:36

Hi all

Res, completely thoughtless of your friend, slightly immature by the sounds if it. Or perhaps just talks before she thinks! Hope you're ok?

Euro, how are you hun? You are so strong and I understand waiting for Tuesdays scan. It is a very individual thing when these things happen. I personally wouldn't be able to wait and would also be rushing to the epu!! However, who really knows unless it's happening.

Beetle, you are a very strong lady and it's so sad what you've been through. Regardless if practical matters, follow your heart and what feels right. If cycling agsin soon is what feels right, then go for it Smile

I'm on my phone so not read all messages (sorry) but wanted to say hi.

Bunny are you in for another scan today? I can't read back in phone arghh! I'm at clinic now waiting for my scan. I'm dying to know if ec will be Friday or Monday!! Feeling excited!!

Hope everyone else is ok? Smile

starsandmoonandback · 08/01/2014 11:47

Thoughtful hun, you poor thing. Hope you can get scanned ASAP to see what's going in and prevent any further problems. I really feel for you x

bugs I've experimented with it before mainly when I wanted to dtd but I really am not a fan. Still, if it helps...

stars not long to go now either way!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 08/01/2014 12:54

Beetle I've only just read your earlier post about starting again so soon. I really hope this is your round. Are you and DH moving back home then?

Euro I'm really glad to hear it's settled down. I hope that is the end of it. Good luck using the back door! I'm thinking I'm going to do all mine that way next time. Does anyone know if there is any reason not to? Are they less effective that way at all?

Thoughtful is PUL pregnancy unknown location? God I really hope it's good news for you. Hopefully it's just too early to see anything on a scan x

Bad that's great news, bye bye devil juice! Hello stimming.

Bunny ignore what I wrote earlier! I was talking about ET not EC. I felt ok after EC after the sedation wore off. I didn't go back to work though as it wasn't practical as I need to get someone to cover my workload if I'm not going to be there. So I couldn't really just not go in on the day of ET. However I felt well enough to be at work.

I also had no idea how dangerous dark chocolate is. I googled it after she ate it & rung my vet. I was told to get her to the nearest animal hospital (thank god we live in a big city). They made her sick and her stomach was pumped with charcoal and she was put on a drip. I felt terrible as I left the chocolate out on a bookcase. My DH was in bits but he didn't shout thank god. I would have gone mad if he had left it out!

AFM in ttc world I'm ovulating I think. We have dtd a few times this week so if we weren't infertile I might think we had a good chance! On the plus side it's only 2 weeks till AF is due so not long to wait to start now.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 08/01/2014 12:57

Bugs boo to painful AF Angry, get yourself curled up with drugs, treats and a hot water bottle

Stars so excited for you! Not long to go now whether it's fri or mon.

It's getting very exciting in here, we will have lots of PUPOs next week Smile

ThoughtfulOne · 08/01/2014 13:50

Yep - PUL = pregnancy of unknown location. Still waiting for the dreaded call for hcg results.

This will amuse you ladies as ivf-ers. Once I'd given my detailed history to the doctor this morning at the EPU she asked me if the pregnancy was planned. I looked at her blankly and she said obviously it was wanted but was it planned. Should she put unplanned? I said well I intentionally had unprotected sex and I want a baby (see my detailed history) so .. She finally said well we will say planned then.

starsandmoonandback · 08/01/2014 13:58

So ec isn't Friday! Nice group of follies growing together though so fingers crossed they carry on that way and they're good quality. Another scan Friday and ec very likely to be Monday! But who knows!!

Cups sorry to hear about your doggie. How is he/she doing now?

Euro, I've only ever used the back door for my bum bullets! It makes no difference as it's just absorbed into the blood stream within 15/20 mins I think. The good thing is less mess and if you pop it in and clench the muscles, it sucks it up for you! Lol!!!
Bugs it does make your poo odd though.... Euro expect to see the fatty stuff in your poo! Oh it's a lovely and dignified journey this Ivf and Ivf pregnancy eh?! Wink
