New thread. Welcome back to all the regulars. Welcome to all the newbies - please come and join us if you are IVFing or thinking about. The regulars are a mine of information at this point!

Do you realise that this will take us through a year of egg buddy threads? I believe Karbea started the last one around Xmas time last year for those cycling in 2013 and I immediately jumped on it as I was about to start my first cycle in January. Blimey.

Morning all. My line looked fainter this morning, so I think this is not going to be a sticky one. Hey ho. Onwards and upwards.

fish how are you doing today, lovely?

OP posts:
NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 18/12/2013 13:05

Euro fingers crossed it's just due to a difference in dyes making it look fainter. I know when I got my BFP I used a few tests on the same sample and the line really varied in thickness and colour.

Bad Shock at you losing your curls. How's your beautiful barnet after the hairdressers?

Badhairday76 · 18/12/2013 13:57

Oh Euro - try not to stress over the line strength - tests vary wildly, as does the strength of your wee. Fingers crossed.
Ha ha Cups - it is big and bouncy!

eurochick · 18/12/2013 14:11

I've also had my first tiny bit of spotting today.

The clinic blood test is tomorrow, and I'm going to ask if they will repeat it on Saturday, so I can see if it is going up or down over 48 hrs.

I love the post-hairdresser bouncy feeling!

I have a less noticeable hangover from my pregnancy lost - two freckles/small areas of pigment on my face. I had seen them once or twice before when I had taken too much sun, but they always faded. They showed up when I was pg and have never gone away. It's odd, because I don't have any freckles!

Badhairday76 · 18/12/2013 14:20

I am keeping everything crossed for you Euro. I am covered in freckles, even more so as I get older. I like them - hides the wrinkles! Funnily enough, my hairdresser was saying that my hair felt really different. It's gone super thick and she was really having to drag the brush through it. I wonder if that is the drugs? I am blaming everything on them, although all in all, I don't feel too bad. I've only got a day and a half of work though this week due to it being the end of term, so looking forward to two weeks off. X

ThoughtfulOne · 18/12/2013 14:27

Euro - thinking of you. Keep us posted

Bad - yay for bouncy hair and the end of term

AFM - I'm feeling in a bizarrely good mood. But curious about my lack of AF returning. I know I'm not pg (did a test a few days ago and have zero AF or pg symptoms) - just messed up after ivf. I had first AF a couple of days after BFN from ivf and it's been 31 days (usually 28 days) and I don't even feel like I've ovulated. I usually get sore breasts and swollen tummy following ovulation. Any experiences?

Euro good luck for today's blood test.

chocolocodowninacapulco · 19/12/2013 10:00

Fingers crossed for today euro

BrookerC · 19/12/2013 11:04

Good luck today euro

eurochick · 19/12/2013 11:12

Thanks all. Blood has been taken. Now all I can do is wait.

I POAS again this morning. The line was darker than yesterday's but not as dark as Tuesday's. I've asked if they will do me a repeat blood test on Saturday so I can see what the levels are doing over 48 hours.

fish I hope you're ok.

beetle my abs have turned to jelly this year. 4 x IVF (and various periods of being in too much pain to do ab work/being told to take it easy at the gym), forehead cyst removal (again, a period of rest) and a cervical biopsy (same) means too little exercise!

How is everyone else doing?

WannabeMaryPoppins · 19/12/2013 12:37

Good luck euro am keeping everything crossed for you

WannabeMaryPoppins · 19/12/2013 12:39

Well, I caved this morning (11dp5dt) and POAS. BFN Sad. Was getting night sweats so knew the game was up. Am obviously disappointed but we knew it was a long shot. So now it is time to concentrate on enjoying Christmas and hopefully start a fresh cycle in new year.

eurochick · 19/12/2013 12:39

Thanks. Is your blood test tomorrow?

OP posts:
WannabeMaryPoppins · 19/12/2013 12:41

No, on Monday

eurochick · 19/12/2013 12:42

Sorry, I hadn't seen your second message when I posted. I'm sorry about the BFN. I've had night sweats the last two nights too and really doubt this one is a goer. I hope you have a great Xmas.

OP posts:
WannabeMaryPoppins · 19/12/2013 12:44

Thanks euro, you too [hugs]

Badhairday76 · 19/12/2013 12:52

Oh Marypops - I am so sorry about your BFN. I hope you have a great Christmas and that you get success from your next round.

Euro - thinking of you lots - glad the line was darker today. Let us know how you get on.

Beetle - so sorry your curls have gone too! Hopefully we will be pregnant again soon and they can come back.

I am covered in cellulite as well. I used to do loads of Bikram yoga and it is amazing at toning you up, but not recommended if you are trying to conceive because of the sweaty heat. Well, that has been my excuse for sitting on my arse anyway! I also have a horrible scar from my breast abscess, some lovely Ectopic scars from my two surgeries and my belly button looks like an upside down penis from a combination of droopy skin after pregnancy and a dodgy stitch job after my last surgery. Also got no boobs post breastfeeding and a still itchy C Scar, but those two things were def a price worth paying.

Ha ha - I only noticed mine when I decided to have a spray tan (very rare event) and was magnified from all angles! Am sat scoffing Quality Street in my classroom right now though, so no right to complain.

Ha ha ha - I might even stretch to a bikini wax before egg collection. My bush is so spectacular right now that they may struggle to get to the eggs!

eurochick · 19/12/2013 13:49

I always shave before "procedures". I know they don't care, but I can't help myself.

I've just had the call from the clinic. The blood test was (as I knew) positive. What did surprise me was the HCG number. It was 48 at this point in my last pregnancy. Today it was 107. I'm baffled because I've really felt over the past two days that all was not well.
